Yuuna current arc will end in <3 chapters, Miura is allergic to writing more than 15 chapters/arc.

Unless all of the new batch flop yuuna will probably stay until the final round of this year (oct/nov),
Yeah, but it's not like the story can go back now. Once the current arc with the lolis is done, the manga will have to go straight into the other affairs, mostly because they can't just ignore that one of the members of the party was taken.

Quite saddening that Higuma's volume 2 managed to do better than vol 1, yet its now to late. Hopefully the author will eventually come back with something new, has he done anything aside from the GIGA series Higuma came from?

Eh, I think Higuma's reception is good enough that Hokami returning is almost inevitable. While I will say it's hard to deny it had fans, I do think the series axing was inevitable, it didn't build up enough of a story and cast to grab readers (the only apparent ongoing plot thread was Higuma's battle with his morality, a good concept for an arc but not the sole thing a battle manga should hinge on), Higuma's battle style was unwieldy, and it didn't have enough of a unique identity compared to Chainsaw and Jujutsu. Hopefully, Hokami learns from his mistakes and improves, because I think he could be a valuable asset to Jump in the future.

Also, do we still lack clarification on the situation with Boruto?

I think Higuma is better than a lot of things that have already been published and things that are still posted on the jump.
The manga had the potential to go far for sure to be among the classic cults of the jump.

A cult classic and a classic cult.

A fine distinction. :D

You'd think a series getting cancelled would be bad for sales, I guess there was a pretty good reason for giving it an epilogue chapter in Jump+.

Hell it could of been given the Golem Hearts treatment where its entire final arc and ending got crammed into one single chapter, so the epilogue chapter will at least give Higuma some sort of closure

the only reason I see is that in the future the author of Higuma can launch a new manga in the jump +
equal to the author of black touch, who is publishing heart gear.
But how long will it take I do not know.

MHA is BARELY beating the numbers Bleach posted towards the end of its serialization.

A 100k to 200k+ in a month gap is more than BARELY beating it, but the point remains that a huge pillar of the manga being near the bottom doesn't mean a thing. Haikyuu has ranked similarly low in the past before and bounced back to the top just fine. The ToC just hasn't held the same meaning it once did and hasn't for a while.

I don't understand the Higuma love. It's like the blandest and most generic cancelbait in Jump since Red Sprite.
simple, sure has some manga in the jump that was canceled, that you liked.

People also still praise that and are salty it was axed.

I feel like Higuma maybe would've done alright (surviving a batch or two, enough time to try to gather a consisteny audience) if it hadn't come after a slew of other exorcist series showing just about every possible premise already, including one other from the same batch even. Granted it probably also would've have existed without all those other exorcist manga coming first but eh.

I hope the guy goes for another try but this time with a genre that hasn't been run dry already, some of the chapters in the latter half were pretty good but we really don't need another new episodic exorcism manga.

I think this has nothing to do, even though chainsaw man is surviving even with jujutsu kaisen, kimetsu no yaiba and the promised neverland.
if the jump had waited until the second volume perhaps Higuma's situation would have been different.

I find myself enjoying Jump+ more lately, now that translations are more common

Promised Neverland isn't really an exorcist series, and the other three kind of fit their own niche (urban fantasy, Taisho era, and more mature "grounded" style) while Higuma was just another urban fantasy series. I do wonder if Higuma would have been more successful if it had gone on longer, it's pretty unusual for a flop to do better sales wise after a cancellation. Regardless, I hope the author can come back with an even better series, that maybe isn't based on such well worn ground.

Exactly. The thing to remember is that Jujutsu Kaisen is genuinely in how it completely ditches the "fantasy world" element of prior series and sets everything in the real world, with characters dressing very normally (Getou, a villain who is basically Evil Buddha, wears a tracksuit in certain scenes for example) and all the action happening in normal areas. Higuma meanwhile looks like yet another YuYu Hakusho clone, with the protagonist being a spiritually powered teen who fights rogue spirits on orders of his superiors from a fantasy world (said superior even looks like a kid).

Guys, Bleach wasn't cancelled. As has been well-established at this point, Kubo ended it prematurely because of fatigue and his own declining health. The circumstances actually make me feel kinda bad for him, but another side feels the fact that Kubo had 200 goddamn chapters to conclude his manga and still needed another 100 speaks to his failings as a creator.

Also, why are we taking Haikyu's placement as meaning anything? It's still the second best selling title in Jump right now. It's staying around until Furudate feels it's time to end.
Amazes me that people still think that it was cancelled.

btw, do we know what was the Boruto announcement?
