I think WNL going longer than Nisekoi was pretty much impossible from the start. Nisekoi started in their first year so was able to do events like Christmas and Valentine's Day multiple times as well as introduce new kohai characters after a while that work for new antics.
WNL started in 3rd year so once Christmas and Valentine's happen they can't again. The only new character for the harem since like volume one was a senpai from cram school. It could try the college route but it would be completely different characters since sensei has to stay at high school and the rest of the harem (and Nariyuki) all have completely different goals and are aiming for different schools (Takemoto even potentially a different country).

That's a fair point. I genuinely wouldn't mind it continuing in a sense of "oh, here's what sensei is doing currently. And in this chapter, Nariyuki is ___", but then it would basically become a completely different manga.

I think it's the first time Neverland has debuted in front of Haikyuu.

Such a shame, because looking at the older threads for other years, you could see countless pages discussing TOC. Nowadays, in a thread called "TOC talk" is at best a 1 page discussion. Shoseki, Oricon talk? Even less (I tried to start some conversation about Shoseki sales including Jump+ but it got ignored).
To have some TOC talk, I've calculated the average placements for the first half of the year (Issues #1 to #26)

1-One Piece: 1,67
2- The Promised Neverland: 2,65
3- Kimetsu no Yaiba: 2,95
4- Dr. Stone: 3,24
5- Haikyuu: 5,06
6- Black Clover: 5,24
7- My Hero Academia: 5,72
8- Jujutsu Kaisen: 5,88
9- Act-Age: 6,47
10- We Never Learn: 6,69
11- Hinomaru Sumo: 8,5
12- Chainsaw-man: 9,14
13- Yuuna of the Haunted Hotsprings: 9,65
14- Shokugeki No Soma: 11,14

Thank you!! Glad to see Kimetsu no Yaiba so consistently high. The rest of the positions is what is expected (Dr.Stone was always well recieved by the readers, WNL is a bit lower than I expected it to be but tough crowd to compete). It will be interesting to see if Black Clover manages to overtake Haikyuu in upcoming weeks. MHA vs Jujutsu as well.

WNL got a minimal boost I see (Vol 10 did 74k in 7 days, Vol 12 did 76k in 6). Such a letdown, Shueisha did not have luck with both Yuuna and WNL in romcom staples underperforming anime to sales wise.

Shame. I still remember Nisekoi's boost (anime was in January 2014 and ended in May). Vol 12 was an improvement over Vol 11 but suffered with having less days in Week 1.

What was the last series that reached 600K in four weeks and when? TPN seems like it's going to get there sooner or later.

Haikyuu and Ansatsu Kyoushitsu in 2014 (first time of course). Not even MHA was able to do that, though it was dangerously close for Vol 21 in 2018, at 590k.

Anyone know how long Haikyu and MHA plan to run? I remember Hori saying 30 volumes but that seems very unlikely now, dunno about HQ

Horikoshi talked about that in that interview he did with Oda: https://edomonogatari.wordpress.com/2018/08/04/horikoshi-oda/

Relevant fragment:
Now, how about some words of encouragement to each other?

Oda: Let’s keep fighting over popularity in Jump.

Horikoshi: If you say so…

Oda: How many volumes did you originally plan to go up to?

Horikoshi: Around 30. In retrospect, that’s not nearly enough.

Oda: Then how about 50?

Horikoshi: I don’t know if I can last for 10 years. [laughs]

Oda: It’s not about whether you can or can’t. Just keep drawing and you’ll get there eventually.

Horikoshi: Did you also decide how many volumes One Piece would last before you started on it?

Oda: Of course. Except, it’s already triple the intended length.

Horikoshi: The more you draw, the more things you want to add, right?

Oda: Not only more things, but also more details.

Horikoshi: I know, somehow the Sports Festival Arc became 2.5 times as long as I intended it to be.

Oda: That’s what happens when a ton of characters are involved. You can’t fit everyone in if you stick to the original plan. Anyways, let’s continue to give it our all on the battlefield called Jump.

Horikoshi: Yeah, sure…

Oda: Come on, say it with more confidence.

Horikoshi: …I’ll do my best to surpass One Piece!!

Oda: I won’t lose.

Horikoshi: I can’t believe I said that… [laughs] Thank you for everything.
It depends on translations, but in the most complete I've seen he says that when they decided to extend the series, he thought he'd make it 30 volumes, but now he thinks that's not nearly enough.

I just want to mention something. In general, DVDs of TV animes don't have big sales (kiddy animes even less).

However, most of the success of TV animes (especially kiddy animes) is measured by the merchandise sales, since the sponsors produce this merchandise.

So, if Toriko anime failed, the reason should be the merchandise sales (not DVDs sales).

There are women into harem. They just not like one man-many women harem. Instead, one women-many men harem animes popular with women.

As you said, women like spokon, that's why many current spokons have cute guys or cool guys.

At the end, the manga needs to have something attractive for women.
Whats "spokon"?

I predict MHA being between 40 and 50 volumes before ending

HQ probably has another 15-20+ volumes left, same with MHA

15 Volumes would be roughly around 3 1/2 years. I doubt it but time will tell. Also BNHA would last longer currently because of how much page count Kōhei has been issuing out each chapter affects it's volume count.

He still haven't even finished the first year though.

Maybe if he keeps SoL/school stuff to minimum (and makes that minimum by plot-essential).

If anyone wants to re/read the classics known as Love Rush and Red Sprite Viz added them to the vault. Yu Yu, HxH and Robo are the only ones missing I'm aware of now (I'm sure there's more) that are actually from WSJ

That's kind of nice, those are two of the flops I actually liked. I'm still waiting on Eyeshield 21 and Hoshin Engi.
