Gotta admit wasnt feeling Chainsawman for a while, but its latest chapter was probably my favorite, the twist on the latter half was the best part.
Even tho I didnt read Fire Punch, I was aware of his, say... "tendencies" so this chapter throw a curve ball at me for sure

Both appear at the top when they release new chapters as expected. This does explain how Abyss Rage is still going despite horrific sales.

As I mentioned, Ikezawa is infamously...exceptionally rude and conceited, especially with his infamous comments regarding Medaka Box and how, if he could, he would exercise his rights to have the manga canceled, while outright referencing the plothread concerning Eiji from Bakuman (a comment which, in retrospect, is honestly kind of hilarious).
I believe he also had some potential image tracing scandals. I think there was a scene in Noah's Notes of a boat of submarine sinking that looked just like an actual photo (and not in a parody manner like David-kun did)

Conspiracy theory time?

Yep, that's the picture I was thinking of. I remember there being quite a bit of talk about that for a while after that chapter was released, but I think as the others have mentioned, he is more infamously known for those rude remarks he has made about other mangaka and their works

MangaPlus decided to not pick this up, but Shonen Jump+ just started a new ecchi (possibly harem per Color Page) manga 2.5-Jigen no Yuuwaku (2.5-dimensional Seduction). Chapter 1 already has 156 comments on the service after just 1 day, and is the Top 1 popular manga there right now.

Yeah, i'm almost sure is Ikezawa Haruto, and i can't believe that he actually did what i wanted him to do after NN cancellation, to publish a ecchi manga on Plus! Since the naked scenes in Mononofu (volumes) it was clear to me that he likes to draw ecchi and he had the potential to do something really cool in a place like Plus, wishing the best!

At this point mangaplus don't like ecchi manga since Yunna isn't there haha

Buy Moria
Do people think its Ikezawa just because of the artstyle or is there something else involved?

Still, it's kinda funny, didn't he say Medaka Box was a crappy manga but otaku bought the volumes because of fanservice? I guess he decided if you can't beat em, join em.

I mean, considering Yuuna had 4 straight pages of graphic lolicon only a few weeks ago, I think that's justified.

In any case, 2.5D seems like a potential player for Jump+ based on early buzz. Curious to see if it will sustain.

P.S. Just started reading Kiben Gakuha, Yotsuya-senpai no Kaidan, and wow. Very unique which nails the atmosphere well, but absolutely a case of wrong magazine. Not to mention it has a lot of text which would put off people.

It's his art, you can see specially from the way the eyes are drawn, it's the exactly way he did in Noah's Notes, the hair and also the girls legs are drawn in the same way he do.

About the ecchi, he always liked, in Kurogane it already had some moments, in the last Mononofu volume he even included uncensored nude scenes, it was just a matter of time.

It's a shame that Noah's Notes took the action route instead of the comedy route. Out of each shogi series I've looked through from WSJ, Mononofu has definitely been my favorite one. If it didn't work out, I find it hard to believe that another will work that isn't at least equally as good. Momiji was super bland and DT is all over the place. I wouldn't mind seeing a board game series last if it had good art, interesting characters, and actually showed some knowledgeable gameplay from the characters

Answer, a Kaiji esque gambling manga where everyone has to play a game of Mario Party.

Mononofu was a badass shogi manga with a lot of character. Momiji, I don't know what the EiC was thinking there. He is probably dumber than a box of rocks since he always serializes Giga minis that lack appeal and flair.

That 2 series round of Momiji and Invade You was probably one of the most forgettable ones in recent WSJ history, and this is coming from a person who thought Invade You was kind of cute. Despite that, I don't really feel like it should've been in the main magazine. It felt more like something that should've been in Jump+ until the author improved their artwork at a more consistent level. Basically no one is going to remember these series years down the road, with more die-hard WSJ fans on here probably mostly blocked them out already

The reason why the latter half of 2018 was so forgettable was because Nakano was, at the time, trying to see if they could get a new gag manga off the ground which could compete with YouTube for younger audiences. It, uh, didn't work, to be blunt.
