I know lately with most new series, they seem to be giving the majority of new series a first ranking roughly in the exact middle of the TOC with a few exceptions. However, I could see Double Taisei being bottom 3 next week after being bottom 2 this week. Each chapter has been pretty wild in its own way, but I can't see it appealing widely enough to ever crack into the upper half of the TOC.

What is your favorite WSJ power-up? (Super Saiyan/Bankai/etc)

You can also elaborate on the person using the power-up as well, so like, instead of just answering Bankai/SSJ, you can specify which character's Bankai/SSJ, etc. Multiple choice is permitted also.

Edit: You can also include attacks or abilities.
Super Saiyan for me, most people tried to go super saiyan once in their life.

The last time I saw a manga in the botton in its pre rank was with yoakemono and I think also with Tokyo wonder boys and buddy strike.

...Isn't Tokyo Wonder Boys the worst preforming manga in Jump history, rivaled only by maybe Seiji Tanaka?

Because that does not bode well for it.

Alright, I'll start doing polls for the new series rankings. If you guys don't mind, remind me when first rankings are coming up. I'll make the Double Taisei poll at midnight.

Did Seiji Tanaka really perform that badly? On a related note, what the worst selling manga in Jump (at least in recent years), like the bottom five or so?

If I remember correctly Tanaka Seiji sold around 800 copies when its volume 1 came out, and I think the previously that sold that bad was Demons Plan.

Edit: Yep, It sold 802 copies (4 days), and Demons Plan 894 copies (6 days).

Daigo Tokuso had so much promise. Sad Enji Tetta has never had any prominence since...

I'm just like you, the fact Daigo Tokuso flopped and Fire Force succeeded really make me depressed

Nen from Hunter x Hunter and Physiology Power in Toriko + eat food get stronger. Not black, red, rainbow oni or fork, spoon chopstick, actual physiology power (first actually demonstrate in the Zebra arc i think).

Is it a record in the market? At least for WSJ?

Sorry, I only got that image because of that "accomplishment" that Tanaka Seiji did. But it was probably taken from Shoseki or Oricon.

Record for WSJ, atleast from the series that there is data for.

Out of curiosity, what is your opinion of Saint Seiya?

Here the anime was HUGE in 90s, and then the Hades OVAs made Saint Seiya popularity to survive pretty well until 2005, then more anime reboots, etc.

When I see the manga has sold in Japan just 25 million copies (or 35), it bugs me because that's a pretty low sales number for a super-hit (titles like NuBe or Hoshin Engi are in that number). And still, Shueisha always treats Saint Seiya as one of its Jump biggest succeses ever.

Also, reminder 12 Houses Arc was pure kino.

Unfortunately, I can't comment as I've never read or watched it, but I've heard good things about it. I'll get around to reading it eventually.

I didn't watched/read the entire franchise yet, but since i'm brazilian and Saint Seiya still very big here, it's kinda impossible to not have any contact with it if you like anime/manga, i watched almost the entire original anime and the first volumes of the original manga, overall i think it's a very good series, at the time it was probably something "mind blowing" for Jump readers, but sometimes you can really feel how old it is and Kurumada isn't really the best writer out there, but i think if you have in mind that it's a old series instead of comparing with current stuff, it's a really good franchise to follow, and the OST of the anime it's one of the best between Jump animes.

I plan to get back into the franchise soon.

The zone from Kuroko no Basket. It just really caught me off guard when they introduced it the first time, I really like the simple but still powerful look. Another thing i liked is how Fujimaki illustraded the zone as an imaginary gate you have to go through.
