I personally think Yui Kamio was always planned as a surprise spin-off of Nura and a fantasy horror battle manga, but the mangaka wasn't planning on revealing his cards this early and was forced to do so to try to save the manga. I remember reading that something similar happened with World Trigger.

Well, I don't like it. Maybe at the time was awesome, but it hasn't aged well.
(Even though DB is a 80's manga, too, and has aged really well, so sometimes I wonder if this is a valid argument).

Prob one of the anime that also inspired fairy tail, (the creator of FT also got it from dbz and rpg games) after that black clover inherited the fairy tail status. It was great at it's time, really something new nobody seen before but now it's an OK on the list when it comes to impressions nowadays

I've made a bunch of moving average charts for ToC placements of the last few years: 2015,2016,2017,2018, 2019(so far)

I only took into account stuff that lasted longer than a year (well and Chainsawman since it seems pretty established already) for obvious reasons.

I'm sure I'm not the first to do this but doing it myself seemed easier and more fun than just looking for this kind of stuff in the depths of the Internet.

So, to give an update on my post from yesterday about trying SPY x FAMILY.

Just read through all of it, and yeah, it's a lovely little series. Very rarely is characterization done so well that quickly. I'm officially hooked and anxiously await for more.

Sorry for deleting my response, but I didn't want the mod notice to have merged posts in it. Anyway, yeah, I agree. You can tell they're all going to fall in love with each other and learn the truth about each other, but despite that being a given, I suspect it'll have a different hook afterwards to sustain it.

Uuuuum. Maybe Kenshiro Hokuto Shinken. But Kenshiro is probably the most broken Jump manga character, so wouldn't be sure.

Maybe the Seventh Sense in Saint Seiya?
