Oh no, Saiyuki seems like a big flop. Kamio Yui also seems like it will underperform for it's mangaka's standards.
Fantastic for SxF, Heart Gear will do poorly as expected (especially knowing Amazon is the perfect avenue for online manga so it is likely bound to do worse in print).

I don't know how right I am since I read Medaka Box for the last time in 2016 (reread in fact) but from what I remember, those are the main abilities of the characters:

Medaka:

She can copy powers and abilities of other characters with "The End", and use it much better than the original user, mastering them. At the end of the series she copied all Ajimu abilities and from a bunch of other characters. Outside of that, she has many transformations that gives her absurd strenght, speed and so on.

Kumagawa:

With All Fiction, he can basically warp and manipulate reality for him, others and space itself.

Ajimu:

She has over 3 billion abilities.

And those are the main ones which always come to my mind. They're pretty broken. More than the most known and mentioned powerful characters like Goku or Saitama, for ex.

Medaka, Kumagawa and Ajimu alone are the most powerful of WSJ by a long shot with their powers. They're level of entities in some or all aspects. lol

Medaka Box was specifically written to have the most powerful characters as kind of a meta commentary of the genre. It's a special case.

lol look at Spy x Family, and i remember Sharkbait saying like 1/2 weeks ago that the manga just seems like a niche western thing and it wouldn't sell in Japan for being "nontraditional", it's even funnier seeing how high the digital preorders are :P

It's good news for SxF, but in regards to Sharkbait, it always amuses me how often people forget that bait is literally in their name.

Not to say that they're always baiting, Shark has occasional nuggets of wisdom, but still, that's the general modus operandi.

It's not that high. He was wrong but I feel like people are expecting too much with the sales of the series.

Its not even out yet. I think it'll be similar to CSM sales but it to a lesser degree.

Jump underprints basically everything nowadays on Vol 1. I think it's a pre-caution to avoid printing series at a loss.
