Some Naruto fights were bs not as BS as FT is.
Nah, they were. Sakura 'somehow' fighting same lvl as Naruto and Sasuke despite her poor development, Kakashi getting MS despite should be impossible by Obito before he died, Talk No Jutsu working around the clock, unexplained stuff about Uzumaki and their lore, Naruto and Sasuke being destined and reincarnation, thus proving Neji right on destiny factor, etc.. Oh don't get me started on BS on Might Guy surviving and Neji dying instead in an stupid way.

Both arcs have as much issues to compare on. Neither were perfect much at all.

When was Sakura same level as Naruto and Sasuke. She just learn that stuff from Tsunade. This didn't put her close to Naruto nor Sasuke. She got tossed around like trash by Madara. You just got this straight from your ass to down play on Sakura. Uzumaki law was established way before the final arc so whatever you say is irrevelant because Uzumaki have been able survive for sometime even if tail beast were removed. I don't see a problem in Ashura and Indra Reincarnation.

Ass-Pulls in Naruto were Guy not Dying, Hagoromo appearing out of no where, that Madara BS, Kakashi getting the MS conveniently, Talk no Jutsu was not an ass-pull because it was never used as an excuse for winning fights like Mashima has done With FT. Neji died protecting Naruto not in a stupid way.
These were no where near the ass-pulls Mashima pulled during final arc. Both Naruto and Bleach got what they deserved for there bad writing but none of them have been as shitty as FT. Bleach ending like Gold compared to this shit.

I don't why you are trying every possible way to downplay on Naruto just to over hype your beloved Mashima's wiriting when sales have proven that Naruto > FT.

She fought them together and withstand things she shouldn't have. Have you forgotten how bad community treats her? That's not even whole list on her.

What law you talking about? That shouldn't be a reason though about it especially Naruto looking like hypocrite for saying 'you can change destiny' when you destined already. Hurts one of key points of the series especially major one.

A lot people had issues with it as it doesn't make Naruto and Sasuke 'special' as themselves and just restarted feud by someone else. Doesn't help make them or their rivalry unique at all.

Yes they were excuse for winning fights and surviving in the arc. You being biased on not admitting Naruto final arcs wasn't bad when it clearly is. It doesn't help Boruto on treating it's legacy either along with old characters. Many fans dislike it, not just me alone. At least Mashima kept to what his series was as it wasn't never meant change out of it's key points despite it's bad final arc.

Bleach is same situation as while Shueisha did had a hand in it and fans, Kubo got take blame too on writing as well. He isn't perfect either. Neither authors are. It doesn't put FT anywhere lower than their messed up writing and asspulls for their own arcs especially final ones.

Thought sales don't equal quality? Aren't you type that thinks that. Regardless who sold more, it doesn't change Naruto has issues as much as FT do especially in final arc goes and Bleach as well. You can't denied that and trying to think otherwise make you biased on not accepting community on they felt as bad on Naruto and Bleach how their final arcs went. Just saying that's how it is.

Though I do expect them to be better in their next works individually and hope they all learn from their mistakes.

Sakura fought some Juubi clones which hinata herself had no problem dealing with. Only ass-pull she did was attack Kaguya from behind to push her towards Sasuke and Naruto. This was same as Lucy conveniently learning demon language and Meredy being a dues ex Machina in Acno's defeat. Sakura was straight up shit during pre-timeskip not a complete fodder in post-timeskip.

What law you talking about
Uzumaki Lineage. Them being able to survive even when Biju is removed was established way before the final arc. Only ass-pull was sasuke surviving thanks to Kabuto.

Agreed with this. Naruto plot after Pain was boring as shit with this introduction uchiha bs and other nonsense. Mashima is good when it comes to writing plot but he doesn't don't know how to deliver on the hype.

I already said Naruto had it flaws. But it was no where FT had during final arc. Fights were straight up garbage in the FT final arc though story was much better than Naruto's final arc. I don't why are you bringing up Boruto. Everyone knows Boruto is shit.

Thought sales don't equal quality? Aren't you type that thinks that
How did you come up with this. If you are talking about me reading FT even if it being shit during final arc. Ya i did read it same way I read Naruto because i didn't want drop it at the last minute.

Though I do expect them to be better in their next works individually and hope they all learn from their mistakes
In my opinion Mashima shouldn't create FT next Gen nonsense. It will most likely be as bad as Boruto. If he want to create FT spinoff Acno's BackStory who be good. Though don't how it will go given his legacy is tarnished thanks to that disgusting defeat for a such a great villian. (Diabolos / DG Spinoff).

It doesn't matter if Japanese people think it's good. The shit is bad, but it's still better than 99 percent of the manga out there. Definitely way better than the self insert isekai garbage they have been making lately.

Fairy Tail is mixed and good, just that Mashima didn't plan for it to be longer. That's the issue. We have no issues with early FT as that was him planning that time and was going to end it early on until massive massive and sales from it happen. Since RM didn't do good job on sales despite better written, Mashima didn't have much choice especially writing this help him got out of depression from what I hear.

So Mashima is a great writer, but needs to plan things more than winging it honestly.

Nah, she did more in the fight along on stuff with Obito in confronting him with Naruto and Sasuke. She shouldn't be at same lvl of them at all given her poor development. That too with Kaguya as well and comparing between female characters of the two series, Mashima works on them better compare to Kishimoto, they have a better backing on doing more work compare to many females in Naruto with a minor few. When she learn demon language? What you talking about and Meredy's magic was shown a long time ago prior too this. She wasn't an deus machina as at as this is a war evolving everyone, so you have to expect her abilities to come in handy. Thinking your overthinking it and how Acnologia lost wasn't BS, the issue was it wasn't an long-term fight for more chapters than it was issue, not teamwork defeated him all together.

I am not talking about that, but more so mystery about them that still haven't been reveal more other than few snippets and thank you for remdining me about Sasuke and Kabuto thing too as I remember and yeah it was.

Naruto Shippiden still have issues in early NS, but it was more minor, but yeah I agree later on especially after Pain arc, it got worser and apparent more. Mashima is a great writer as RM and early FT is true of that, but the issue with FT was not because his planning wasn't working, it was because he DIDN'T (Emphasizing, not yelling) have any plans at all. Interviews he said he been 'winging', that's why FT have issues for that as it was originally going to be an short-term series, not long-term series end of the day.

Not really, you been defending them and ignoring them than saying they do and also mentioning the final arc was still 'fine' when it wasn't looking at outrage fans of Naruto fanbase after it ended like that especially what happened to Madara who was one of the most hype villains they wanted final villain, but instead he got easily destroy by Zetsu for Kayuga. At least Acnologia was foreshadow to the end as final arc villain to the end instead being replace of out of nowhere villain who no mention or hype to them at all. On fights, will say Naruto was a bit better, but some were still BS especially power-ups on Naruto side like Naruto and Sasuke becoming OP Gods and reincarnation thing, Kakashi gaining MS which shouldn't be possible at all, etc.. Story was stronger in FT than Naruto for sure as well, but end of the day, both just couldn't deliver and both in same situation. I don't see neither better than other as they share many factors of how they went out.

Boruto is involve since it's apart of Naruto regardless and thus it wrecks the legacy and final arc more with it's appearance. So Kishimoto hurt his series more compare Mashima with FT as at least Mashima didn't plan anything which explain why the writing was off later on in FT, Kishimoto planned more, but still couldn't deliver much still. Just saying about them.

Yeah same here, but doesn't mean anything who is better when both have bad final arcs in the end. They will forever be known as one of the best-selling series around respectively, but still quality will be wonky on talking about them both still.

Depends, if he will create it, I suggest give it the reigns to someone else like with Boruto, but another writer and better writer than Boruto one. I heard a fan is doing Acnologia was shocked and like the backstory from what I hear, Idk if he plans on making it canon or want to do his own version, but be interesting if he takes fan as canon though as from what I hear the fanbase enjoy it. His legacy isn't really tarnished. I see many threats even this one loyal and still with him, so fanbase is hardly dead and gone. If anything it's seem to be growing more out of it on seeing sites about it and drive of 100 Year Quest as so far been better than final arc. There been no issues about it and looks to be working better in mistakes than he couldn't deliver much in FT. Plus there is also his new series too, so I don't think there be issues so as long he takes his time and plan things thoroughly as I doubt he want to repeat same mistakes as before in the end.

Ok this is me asking you this very same question for a third time already, where did you get the info that Mashima was suffering from depression since RM days? A very surprising info that you gave out in the Edens Zero forum, and ever since then i have been searching from time to time like a complete fool for any clue or even a hint about this depression you speak of and, nothing. And you never even responded to my questions. Can you finally tell me more about this thematic cuz im interested about this and cuz I have never heard anything about it (so potentionally im gonna find out something new, something i didnt know)

RM didnt have good sales compared to FT cuz it had licensing problems (still it would have never reached FT level of sales), with a good chunk of its later volumes having major problems with its english release and for a big period of time at that, until it got another license years later. So since it got globally F-ed for a period of time, it is logical that the number of sales didnt quite reach the desired heights cuz it globally didnt go well. Unlike FT which had a good license contract. Despite that Mashima said he had a blast writting and drawing RM, and by the time RM got its digital release he was already at his peak with FT. So i really cant see when he was suffering from depression. Or were you referring to his pre Magician days (his first ever one-shot that got an award).

It was BS nothing else. Acnologia can eat magic somehow he wasn't able to break through Fairy Sphere bullshit because it was made with bonds nonsense.
Meredy was nothing more than deus ex machina. How did she manage to link Maguilty Sense to all people in Ishigar? Has she is being going around the continent in such short ? Has she been planning this for years? She doesn't have that much range and she need to be in close range to use that ability. Acnologia's loss was bullshit but not as close as Zeref's nonsense.

This first I seen your question. Idk what you mean. Sorry if I didn't check your end carefully. It was said in one of his early interviews when FT was still early and rising or before popularity. I was told by some FT fans about it and you can search on internet. Think its one of those interviews need to be translated though. Sorry don't have pinpoint location, but I was told this when I just joined the series why FT became light-hearted series and Mashima seasonings not going on more serious on tone as much. Try Google Mashima interviews from back then to get it. Hopefully should be translated right now.

Of course he like RM still, he never disappointed works even through the bad. Though as Mangaka, he count on his series to sale and sadly it didn't as he wanted. While true at the time licensing for international was 'hard' back then, Japan could still could still support the series. Judging on the sales, it didn't go that far sadly.

If you can't make money, it can lead to hard times especially that it also he kill off certain character or few he was attach too in progress which lead to that. Fairy Tail look like he was getting out of it by doing light-hearted series especially take advantage of it selling and getting far with popularity and sells of it.

I don't think it was his pre days as hearing more it was in-between of RM and FT where it happened.

Fairy Sphere is something else especially it wasn't made as offensive attack, more to keep you inside there. It's not really a 'true' magic attack on him. Basically it's like Spirit Bomb like Dragon Ball Z as use power of everyone to help seal him, not defeat him until 7 DS did themselves with his other body.

It make sense and yeah, she probably did. Don't forget it been 7 year Timeskip and Crime Sorciere could have wonder around continent that time and continue even after it. Along she gotten stronger so we should expect spells to be stronger too.

Acnologia all make sense for how we went down. The issue was that the fight was short and didn't last longer as it should. Same with Zeref, but rethinking this after light of evidence sequel series, while BS he went down quickly in FH mode, how he did make me think it wasn't Base Natsu, it was something more adding to his power. Think mixture of END since he was revive by the book, not someone and Dragon side along with his emotions combine. Don't think what we though before.

Wait as far as I know @Valhalla777 Mashima said that he was depressed because he had to kill Seighart, not depressed because of the series itself.

That could trigger why he wanted a more light-hearted series for FT especially added after all the work with RM, it didn't sell good compare to FT.

RM didn't receive proper sales because it didn't receive a good anime adaptation, like Akame Ga Kill.

So dark stuff won't be a problem

TPN,HxH,AOT all sells very well.

Not really. It wasn't that reason only. Manga can still sell even if anime isn't up to stuff. Just Akame Ga Kill didn't have more of the 'it' factor along with Rave Master, but the licensing issues also play role since again back then getting series like it was scarce until this time around.

How much did Rave sell anyway?

Edit it's apparently 18 Million.

:gwahfirst time ... Does that mean you didnt even bother looking what i wrote in my earlier posts, ccc shame on you :xp

Oooh so thats what you meant. I thought he was suffering from a mental illness cuz of bad sales and people complaining about deaths, at least thats how you worded it in previous posts. I have searched my fair share of interviews and other information in general even before you mentioned anything about depression, and then i have searched stuff about depression in the past two months or so, and sadly i wasnt able to find anything. You see being depressed and having depression are two different things. In the end I think the issue was your wording.

He did say that Rave was dark (and it really was at times), but he ended it pretty happy in the end cuz according to him, his characters deserved it and cuz he likes happy endings. About deaths in RM, he said in afterword interviews that some people were complaining about it, but it didnt really faze him that much and he said that in the end it was something that needed to be done, since the story of certain deceased characters came to a close, as sad and it might have been for him and for his fans.
When he wrote the party before the final battle and saw how everyone was having fun, this is where the idea for FT struck him. A fun partylike light-hearted series, plus when he finished RM he said that in the end he preffered a more lighter series cuz he was a bit sad with certain fates of his characters. So in the end he decided that for his next series it would go light-hearted with the partylike vibe. As far as i know, neither sales nor crazy fans where that much of a factor.
As for the sales, you say they were bad, but what was considered as "bad sales" in that day and age. You really think he had problems with sales and money, when he had like his own studio and around 10 assistants, and he had the time to experiment with one-shots and other mini series like Monster Soul and Monster Hunter. Fact is RM wasnt nearly as good as FT in sales, but that doesnt mean RM had bad sales, when in the end we dont even know how much it sold (at least i dont know cuz i couldnt find the number). If he was suffering from depression (which is a serious mental illness), he wouldnt do all these series and FT right after RM.

Wait as far as I know @Valhalla777 Mashima said that he was depressed because he had to kill Seighart, not depressed because of the series itself.
Yeah i think i found the issue lol. Depression and being depressed are two different things. Yeah he was sad cuz of Sieghart, and some fans werent happy with it but that didnt affect him that much. From some interviews it looked like he was more sad about Reina than Sieg lol. And even for Reina fans were complaining and yet it didnt stop him from delivering us one of the greatest moment in all of his work. Its funny how some fans were complaning about it back in the day, but now the majority opinion is that it was one of the best things he ever did.

@King Moe might have been too busy saving the Mashima verse from a bigger Rebel. You may not have been a legit threat to him at that time. So he might have ignored you. :p:p

How many times must we go over this?

There was no plan.

No ending
in mind.

The "short length" of the series was a guess, not a goal.

He was making all of it up as he went along.

Only character backgrounds were worked out ahead of time.

But never when or how they would come into play.

Mashima has said this from the beginning.

You keep misunderstanding, Blue. I said this many time, he did have an plan and ending in mind originally as Fairy Tail was meant to be short-term, not long-term series. I know about later stuff he didn't plan and no ending yes, but originally it did as why was early FT good at it was back then?

He stated in interviews how long he expected it before popularity and sells hit later on. That's when and where he did things with no plan and didn't have idea how to end it. Not in early FT, dude.

I have no idea what you mean. Just saying how it is about situation with FT. Not saving, just speaking the truth especially most of what I said is information within Mashima's interviews.

Sorry about that XD.

Yeah maybe it might be like that. Didn't think it was 'serious' depression, but was told a lot he did more lighter series due to more darker stuff in RM which make him depress and wanted something to lift spires more even for short time. Think that's why he went with FT the way it is and didn't try as hard about it compare to RM as that's wasn't the goal of it.

Well looking at sales, while 18 million impressive, we don't know how good that is in standards of Japan, they think differently at tines on series, so seeing FT being more loved and popular, thought they were thrill much with RM compare to it.

He really had all that work and help when doing RM? Really?

For RM he had a studio but wasnt as modernized as today, and i think he had a few editors, but not as many as FT in the beginning. One editor in particular helped him a lot with RM so he even made him a character in the manga (a gag two chapter character).
From what i gathered he had quite a big team during the first half of FT and his studio was gradually getting more modern. So during RM and then to FT he didnt really had a problem with money, which means as problematic as the licensing was, the sales didnt really ruin his pay. But thats also a bit of speculation on my part but based on what he had at the time and what he was talking about when finishing RM and during FT days. Its mainly information from interviews and afterword volume infos.
