There is nothing to be concerned about. digital sales for BLack Clover are as prosperous and vibrant as ever. Just because newer series are finally hitting their strides and matching BLack Clover's pace doesnt mean that overall they are on track to succeed the new king of shonen genre.

But Sharkbait, wouldn't Jujutsu Kaisen being a newer series allow it to achieve higher digital sales and growth than Black Clover in this modern climate?

Depends on if it gets an anime and how well it is received. If it's a bad adaptation, sales could suffer.

But I don't think so, given the good response of Jujutsu, the anime regardless of who and how it will be built, can do nothing but do good sales ...

This. With how well it doing I wouldn't be surprise if KnY surpass MHA.
I doubt it but then again I doubted Kimetsu passing 400k. I think the series will get another boost with S2 when they cover the demon train arc.

Kimetsu BD/DVD is most likely going to be 10k+ seller given that Ufo shows usually sell well so the odds of it reaching 10k are quite high.

I doubt it.

Boost usually didn't repeat.

You're correct but I can see it happening as the Rengoku arc is seen as the peak of Kimetsu. There's a chance IMO.

Didnt the same thing happen with MHA with its second season? I found the sports festival & the stain arc to be the peak of MHA.

9K according to amazon stalker though could be underestimated due KNY having female fans who usually buy at animate.
10k+ should be doable especially if the fujo are buying it

Guys also an very important topic about higuma, friend of mine bought me vol 1 & 2 and there was suppose to be 2 new excorsists. if the characters was shown between the story half way it would keep being so interesting and prob getting avoided being axed. whats wrong with the editor?, was it an uninexperience editor?. all the writer needed was good leading. whatever.... its too late to keep talking about it

Same argument can be made for EVERY series that's been cancelled. No point blaming the editor. No one, not even the head of Shueisha can predict what readers will enjoy or wont. The fact that they serialized a manga means they had some faith in it. If you want to blame anyone, blame the japanese readers who did not enjoy a cancelled series.

MHA experienced boosts in season 2 and 3. So, multiple boosts are very much possible. Especially if a series has momentum on its side, which KNY seems to be having.

I mean, looking at editors, Samurai 8's editor is a complete newbie who more likely than not contributes very little to the creative process, so it's a pretty good demonstration of what a completely unfiltered work looks like.

That proofs my point 100% correct. An manga that could be avoided being cancelled. Whatever, what happens happens. Its jump afterall, if it was kondansha it would be still running

I don't think Higuma being in a different magazine would have saved it, all it would have done is made it get even less attention and fewer sales, and in the end, it probably still would have gotten axed.

I see obviously you dont know how the mangaka business work
LOL what? Okay then.
An editor cannot force a mangaka to make design choices. They can be convincing surely but they cannot force someone to do something. If the creator takes someone input without realising how it affects their vision, then they are solely to be blamed for the outcome of their work. The rules and work standards of Jump aren't a mystery to newcomers or old. Everyone knows what it takes to succeed in Jump.

How do you know it's unfiltered? How do you know that the top editors in WSJ didn't work with Kishi over the past two years to develop a series that they believe will be the next "pillar"? You think it's unfiltered but it could actually be the opposite.

Not all, but many of them for sure. Btw the editor is part of the problem too, do you know. if an editor isnt part with the writer, 60% of manga would look completely different. Naruto would be animal ninja crossing or straight up samurai to begin with. The promised Neverland wouldn't have an female as mc and norman would be an complete different person. There are so many factors if you dont know. You cant do everything on your own in your workplace, espcially as newbie

Yes. You are right. 101nemesis and I are big dummies. You and Loverofanime (IE your alt) are big smartssmart.
It is impossible to take this thread seriously anymore.
All its past credibility is completely gone.
How amusing it is how much things can change over the years.
