It's surprising how Act-Age is always in that ToC position but its volume-sales are good. Seems like ToC isn't a reliable source...
And same goes for Dr.Stone...ToC top 5 but its sales are mid.
Basing on this ^ I'd like to wait before saying that TSS will be surely axed. Its 1st volume has yet to be released.
It is true that there may be a certain dissynchrony between TOC and sales, but it is not so exaggerated either.

New series in bottom 5 at the TOC usually does not sell well. You can see that in mangas like Saiyuki or Kamio Yui.

So, I would not recommend to have high hopes on sales for TSS.

The new series do both sound like gag series (or gag-action). WSJ does need one so it'd make sense.

Also it definitely looks like Yui Kamio's going to be another Cross Manage situation, surviving for a good while longer than it probably should due to doing just better enough to stay above the other flops.

By the translation of Yozakura-san Chi no Dai Sakusen, it seems that jump editors want a spy x Family 2.0, but I have to look at the manga image to make sure.

The other must be really gag manga, is this a new trend? jump + mangakas migrating to shonen jump.

Curious if it will become a Hokenshitsu no Shinigami situation, that one lived TOO long just by being better than dead on arrival bombs.

I didn't know I don't follow Edited Manga anymore since I read directly in Japanese. Just discovered that series today on Jump + 🤷🏽‍♂️
Directly in Japanese?? That is really cool, good job on learning the language to that level.

I think you’d be surprised how many members here read series in Japanese and don’t really touch scans, honestly. Though with a purple name it can be taken as a given.

Took me quite a while I must say, not touching scans though is one of the reasons I came back to the site since I noticed I had no way of really knowing what was happening in terms of manga. That's also one of the main reason as to buy I have subscriptions to quite a few magazines since this is for me the best way to follow what's going on with each magazine and see if there are any series I like.
I've heard on mangadex before but my take is that considering I can read and speak Japanese and seeing how many hours artists devote to making their series that it'd be a shame to just read them for free since I really have no excuse not to support them since it's become so easy to buy manga digitally now.

Still I wish I could read WSJ in Japanese too, I'd probably get the magazine every week but for some reason the magazine can only be bought on the Shonen Jump site compared all other magazines they have which can be bought on other sites.

I think its going to happen with Samurai 8, the same thing that happened with RobotxLaserbeam.

It will be canceled after a year.

I think if it is not going to be that successful they most likely just going to transfer it to SQ.

all my predictions for the new serialization round were wrong, way to subvert my expectations Nak (exorcist manga prediction might still happen tho)

anywho... new serialization round means it's time for my tradition, judging new authors based on their taste

Hitsuji Gondaira fav manga: One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, Neuro Supernatural Detective

Tsurun Hatomune fav manga : Kimi ni Todoke

C'mon, if Act-Age and Yuuna survived even if it's poorly ranked everytime...then S8 will have no problems. The only problem S8 has right now are the weirdos that always spam bait and fear mongers like "SaMuRai 8 WilL bE AxED duE tO ReAsoNs".

...can we not start this again? We won’t even get a solid idea of how it’ll fare until the sales numbers are out, anyways. And that’s in October.

Interesting that there’s new serializations. Hopefully both of them are good and unique.

Poro mangaka back!? Nak is a hack. Might as well launch a sequel to Sporting Salt. Champion is going to surpass Jump at this rate...

you mentioned before that you are on ios,

while I know exactly how to do it on android, i am not as sure about ios, but in theory you could install the jump+ (or jumpbookstore app, but plus is easier) app by changing the region of your app store(you can change back after that i think) , and paying them using iTunes gift card which you can buy at some places.

android is way easier,
apk + google pay = done (subscriptions will take a bit of tinkering, but individuals issue just need those 2 things)

and purchases will appear on other devices connected to the same account so you can read on PC if that is ypur thing.

I'd just be happy for current WSJ to have two successful sports series in general. Hinomaru Zumou was amazing and I enjoyed Soma as well but Sumou is more on the battle side of things and cooking isn't actually a sport even if Soma was structured like one. And even then they're both gone now, with Beast Children not looking so hot at all.

I don't really care if it's golf, Rugby, football, badminton, baseball or even something really unexpected like kabaddi or shinty or something, I just want something new to stick around.

Seeing people talking that Jump has too many exorcist series now reminded me that in 1973 it had 3 baseball series.

I mean if anything that’s not enough baseball series

If World trigger survived because his first volume didn't appear in oricon, why all the other series after it didn't survive? They can be wrong but the "This series is going to be a hit because the guy writing it is famous" or "this series survived so other can!" is also wrong.
Danganronpa is mainstream and a series written by the creator in Shonen Magazine was cancelled or Jojo was popular but Steel Ball Run was a failure in the beginning.

People need to stop being in denial and begin to think that , off course, Sam8 can be a hit, but kishi doesn't have a free card and can be a flop.
