is this a new trend? jump + mangakas migrating to shonen jump.
Fujimoto from Fire Punch to Chainsaw Man
Hayashi from Terra-chan to Jimoto ga Japan
Tsutsui from Magical Patissiere to WNL

2/3 successful transitions, better success percentage than all the migrating GIGA miniseries

Tbh I also find poor your list. Only 4 titles and only 1 is really from Weekly Shonen Jump. What about Hero Academia, Kimetsu, Neverland, Black Clover, or Dr. Stone?
MHA just watching the anime, same goes for Kimetsu.
I don't like both Dr. Stone and BC.

Neverland...i dunno it.

NNT is pretty doodoo from the start imo. Boruto manga IS canon ofc, like why wouldnt it?
Ah, i knew it's canon. I guess the other guy just tried to troll me.

Quick question, has Yoshio Sawai done anything after Chagecha's cancellation? Because the way that incident makes it sound like the sort of thing which would make one quit the industry completely.

A V-Jump series, a Saikyo Jump series and a shonenjump+ sequel to that series. His art style is completely overhauled now, much softer and nicer

The other thing to maybe consider about series that got cancelled before the first volume released is pre-order numbers. Sure something could sell a lot just from people picking it up in-store but most likely if pre-orders are very low then it'll sell very low too. if the rankings have been awful in addition then there's really not much hope for it.

Of course these days under Nak they seem to always be waiting until after vol 1 comes out before cancelling stuff but nothing's ever guaranteed.

The shift in standards since Nakano came in is I'd like to think a measure because of Jump having lost pretty much the majority of the series which drove it through the 2000s. With Kochikame, 2/3s of the Big 3 and Gintama all gone among other series, they can't exactly be pick and choosers, so trying to at least see some sales data is likely just them playing safer.

Boruto manga is not canon...? Well i don't care. I'm really enjoying it and that's the only important thing.

I know NNT is not Jump.
Boruto is canon because Kishimoto said it was, even though he isn't writing it, likely because it doesn't affect Naruto itself anymore. It's just that some people don't particularly care for the manga, so they pretend it doesn't exist or matter. You enjoying it is the only important thing, though, yeah.

Seems series are back to their usual numbers, as expected. Kudos for KnY, we can conclude every volume is probably already on 400k knowing these numbers are not completely exact.

So Neverland is neck and neck with HeroAca, Chainsawman has already 50k and will likely surpass Yuuna next volume (if not this one), Kimetsu no Yaiba is still selling backlogs like crazy (and that will probably be stronger after Episode 19. I honestly think there’s a chance it may reach Haikyuu’s level) and Spy x Family still refuses to leave the Top 50.

Damn, Jump’s newer manga are really hitting their stride.

New series is out on Jump+, this one is gonna be 7 chapters in all. I have to say this is actually pretty good so it's a real shame it's only gonna be 7 chapters in all.
Also for some reason I feel like this isn't a typical series to be released in Jump. Maybe Grand Jump and even these I feel like this would belong more in a Kodansha or Shogakukan seinen magazine.

I would like to see Mizu Asato in Jump, but I doubt they're going to make him do a romcom like Aharen.

Coming from a Jump+ success makes sense as a good place to start I think. The writers have enough success and experience that they know how to capture people's attention, but not too much that they assume their old fanbase will buy it anyway even if they don't try as hard.

Kishi's pretty much said exactly that about Samurai 8, hoping his existing fanbase will buy it anyway even if the start isn't interesting and just trust it'll be good later on. Hungry Marie felt that way too, it threw in some references for the Beel fans then just screwed around not really trying like it assumed people will buy it regardless. While a newbie or not well known creator needs to try their best to gets fans from the start.
