Isn’t tweeting about these things kinda a niché thing so at best it only tells you the series hardcore Jump readers care about while giving you no real feel on the more causal readers and children that read.
Its a pointless measure of success or popularity as anyone can make multiple accounts and bots to tweet and retweet, not to mention theres dupes of the same tweet shared by different accounts up there.

Nothing different than this twitter poll for the last issue where Saiyuki is in Top 5 discounting F-Ken (Act-Age, Jujutsu and Chainsaw being Top 3), and The Promised Neverland in Bottom 2 lol. Maybe a fun read, but neither should be taken seriously.

I mean...in this case, it isn't a survey being carried out among a pool of less than 100 people, it's just "how many people have tweeted about x series". I'm not trying to sell any ideas here, just giving hard numbers.

I mean...casual readers aren't really one to buy anymore. It may have some exclusions, but it is telling when, say, less than 20 people have commented on TSS.

The list only tracks people that used the full phrase "Tokyo Shinobi Squad" that week. Seeing as barely anyone in this thread has called it that, instead of TSS, in the past two weeks, I'd be willing to guess that your post isn't the most accurate or reliable metric to gauge a manga's popularity by.

This is about JP twitter, not ENG twitter.

Ah, my bad, didn't catch the "JP" part.

Funnily enough, "Tokyo Shinobi Squad" has a similar amount of engagement on US Twitter, hence my confusion. It becomes harder to track when you type "TSS" because it's such a broad acronym. I do wonder if the title has a similar nickname or shorthand in Japan that your tracker didn't catch.

Goddamn to think I'd see the day when SharkBait, despite always shitposting, uses logic to btfo someone who unironically accidentally creates shitposts for a living.

Also, @Buranchi, please don't delete this following comment, and I seriously don't want any trouble from this, but only in my own opinion, seeing nonstop reaction GIFs every time someone posts CSM numbers is getting a bit old. I love Chainsawman, one of my favs rn but in the past while I've seen like 5-10 GIFs with no text just celebrating CSM. Idk, I'm done with idiotic passive-aggressiveness, this definitely isn't that. But maybe tone it down a bit.

Nah, I'm gonna keep posting them.

Thanks for the input, though.

I remember in the past there were several new series where ppl pointed out “this series has a ton of engagement on twitter”, and “this series has a ton of fan art all over twitter and Pixiv”. But despite the Internet popularity those series were still quick axes.
I can’t remember which series, but I want to say Demon Prince Poro was definitely one of them”.

Point is, I don’t think high discussion on twitter(whether positive or negative) is really telling of anything

The ones I remember having Internet buzz plus fanart are Kiruko-san, Samon-kun, Takuan to Batsu, and Ziga

A hella a lot of mangakas with good art need to come back with a writer next time :derp
I remember reading an interview from a few years ago where the editorial department outright stated they want to start pairing up artists with writers more frequently.

Wonder if Nakano also thinks like that, specially given how Act Age is doing

...Pretty sure that interview was with Nakano. Buranchi, I think your memory is playing tricks on you.

Well, I don't remember exactly when it was. I remember reading it sometime after TPN was released, because that was when I started taking notice of artist and writer combos more closely.

Kimetsu no Yaiba backlogs now appearing in Top 15 Shoseki, damn!
Spy x Family is back to around 30ish in Shoseki ranks.

Nope. It should get another boost with the demon train arc if the second season comes next year and not the one after that.
I don't think it will get another boost honestly.

... So I MIGHT be a little out of the loop when it comes to the older series. :eyeroll

Any advice on which yet unknown series I should check out that might fit my taste?
Your taste is really.. different?. What for manga are you into?. Cuz if you like bleach, jujutsu kaisen & kimetsu no yaiba would > Atleast < looking decently enjoyable for you

I told you all Twitter doesnt have much effect on an new coming manga, espcially from an nooby. but meanwhile I was called a lier or incorrect >.>. It all has alot of to do with jump poll getting served from Japanese Jump-shops and at the end the people behind it give it final decision
