Don't see YF surviving. It had okay gags and characters but doesn't have a strong twist. It really does give off Saiyuki vibes to me in terms of it's survival probability.

Hn, neat comment from the last Gintama fanbook.

Looks like someone was a fan~
Oi you damn gorilla!! Why weren’t you giving recommendations for HZ before?! At least a friggin reference ffs!!!!:emocat

Other than that, sasuga Sorachi, good taste right there, so dope that my favorite Jump series mentions my other favorite Jump series

All I'm saying about Yozakura for now is that I didn't like it that much. Art isn't impactful and I felt it a bit rushed.
(I think this kind of general comment is allowed, but if it is not just delete)

I would not put this as an exact science. We have no way of knowing what will or will not make the jump successful, for example, most people here liked the first chapter of beast children, saying it was one of the best debuts of the jump and it would be a success and in the end it didn't happen.

Yeah, I think with the exception of the really unique stuff (such as, say, Ansatsu or Neverland, which were pretty easy to guess they would survive), it's really hard to identify what's going to be a success or a flop.

I still need to read the manga but with just the first chapter, it's really soon to say that it's going to end or be successful.

Now that he's famous, the Edited Manga sites remembered Kimetsu eh?
Yup, amazing, huh? Now they even release it on the same day of the others, unlike before mangaplus where they released it on the same day of Yuna. Those are the cases where I really like to ignore those releases, not only because there's already one free but because of how they treated the series before.

I really liked the first chapter of Yozakura. I honestly think this series has a shot at staying around.

Beast Children seems like it could be heading to the end... TSS feels like the new neolation. Rule of cool and new enemy every coupla chapters with no real direction. At least Double Taisei is fun, lol, it's fucking hilarious.

Might be bipolar on this one but Yui Kamio was so unpalatable this week.

Yeah, i really liked it as well. It was a good introduction to the cast and it was pretty pleasant to read, fun gags without taking away from a pretty decent story being told. Seems like the kind of series that can alternate seamlessly between funny and emotional and I'm all for it.

I'm firmly on the "I think it'll survive" side of the debate. Jump is in a position where they need some new hits, and Yozakura genuinely seems like it has capacity to grow with time.

Jujutsu Kaisen continues to be really solid. The art is slowly becoming really fucking good. The double spreads this chapter were amazing

Yeah was just about to say, Jujutsu Kaisen KILLED it this week. It's the first time in probably a year that the chapter of the week hasn't gone to Kimetsu, Black Clover, or Chainsawman for me. (Not reading OP for now.)

I like YF's concept but I'm not sure they should have introduced the whole cast in a single chapter.
I can see it as an issue, but I think the way they did it worked. The story focused more on only 3, giving a glimpse of the others, and now we already have a foundation established for future chapters without it feeling bloated now or coming out of nowhere later.

Haikyuu had a killer chapter too this week, wtf? This week is too strong, next week's gonna look shit in comparison.

I wish they built up what happened in this week's Haikyuu over a longer period of time though, it felt a little randomly placed. But god it was amazing

I agree that Jujutsu Kaisen has been the best chapter in Jump this week. Can't wait to see what is happening next week.

Also, praying so hard for Double Taisei to survive. Is been pretty enjoyable and fun right now, with the inclusion of these 4 rival characters.

I kinda like that. Way too many of the flops would have had Asano being all gloomy for the entire chapter with some hints then end it with what is page 19 just to try and bait a hook ala TPN I guess but we actually got use out of the longer chapter 1 that a bunch of the series seem to skip out on lately.

Right?!

I just wish the author had more of a plan/clear direction.

It's like he came to Jump with a shogi series, even though he doesn't know or care about shogi, but was aware of just how much they love to publish them (even though they all fail).
