I thought Yozakura-san first chapter was fun, the characters look and act like Tsubasa Fukuchi made them which I can dig
I need to see what direction the series take, i think the mc will begin his training to become a spy but how will that go? will he keep going to school or what
Masaoki Shindou manga and the comicalization of Megaton Musashi videogame are the 2 manga Jump keep promising that are coming every year but never actually come
I would put the current positions for the new WSJ mangas in the sales ranking of Amazon (so far, these are only preorders). The positions in the ranking can change overtime.
Well, if I'm not mistaken, Beast Children and Futari no Taisei were at the bottom 5 before the 8 chapter.
I think the amazon rankings still can show some level of audience reception. Of course, I could be wrong.
Also, it could be useful in the future to know these positions now. I mean if we know the positions in the ranking for Last Saiyuki Vol1 or Kamio Yui Vol1 (one week before the release), we could suppose how much the amazon ranking at this time represent from the audience.
sure, I guess?
generally amazon is not a good way of measuring audience reception (only big hits looks good on it and everything else look average or bad)
Ooh, that's got potential for a cool discussion topic.
Out of the mangaka that had a series axed or concluded in 2019, who would you like to return, and with what kind of manga?
Personally, I'd like Daijiro Nonoue (The Last Saiyuki) to come back. It'd be neat if he did his take on something whimsical and childish, like Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh!, but with some kind of dark twist. I feel like that would play to his strengths as a storyteller.
Yes I know that Yu-Gi-Oh is already Yu-Gi-Oh with a dark twist

I think I have the exact same answer. But to give another one...
Uh, make Hinomaru's author come back with another sports comic. That would be great, I already miss Hinomaru, and Jump isn't doing too hot for me in the genre lately

I'd be interested in seeing Nonoue come back as well, but also I really want Numa Shun to have a new series as well (Samon ended years ago, but he had a one shot this year, so it still counts).
the NHK promo thing did more for Dr Stone sales than 8 anime episodes
you have to wonder who's watching the anime? does it even have more exposure now than it was without an anime?

Amazon did accurately predict Saiyuki would be a massive bomb, Spy x Family being a hit with Heart Gear and Yui doing meh to poor from what I remember.
