Can you put the link? I would like to see the positions.

You have a point that preorder ranking wouldn't be so decisive, but these mangas really need good sales.

It would be to see the position of these preorders compared with preorders of previous mangas.

I thought Yozakura-san first chapter was fun, the characters look and act like Tsubasa Fukuchi made them which I can dig
I need to see what direction the series take, i think the mc will begin his training to become a spy but how will that go? will he keep going to school or what

Masaoki Shindou when?
Masaoki Shindou manga and the comicalization of Megaton Musashi videogame are the 2 manga Jump keep promising that are coming every year but never actually come

If I may ask, does someone has the image of the Jump+ series that are being launched this month?

I'm curious if there are any manga that still has the possibility that could be picked up by mangaplus in what is remaining of this month.

Thank you very much. The positions of preorders for TSS, Beast Children and Futari no Taisei are really horrible.

Samurai 8 vol 1 and vol 2 have better position than Kamio Yui vol 2. Although I wouldn't say it's really a good position for all the promotion.

Unfortunately, these positions cannot be compared with the previous mangas because all positions change over time.

I would put the current positions for the new WSJ mangas in the sales ranking of Amazon (so far, these are only preorders). The positions in the ranking can change overtime.

Beast Children Vol.1 position 85199

Futari no Taisei Vol.1 position 52827

Tokyo Shinobi Squad Vol.1 position 118458

Samurai 8 Vol.1 position 9296

Samurai 8 Vol.2 position 9644

looking at amazon rankings now when we are far away from the release is like looking at jump ranking before the 8 chapter

a giant waste of time
Well, if I'm not mistaken, Beast Children and Futari no Taisei were at the bottom 5 before the 8 chapter.

I think the amazon rankings still can show some level of audience reception. Of course, I could be wrong.

Also, it could be useful in the future to know these positions now. I mean if we know the positions in the ranking for Last Saiyuki Vol1 or Kamio Yui Vol1 (one week before the release), we could suppose how much the amazon ranking at this time represent from the audience.

the NHK promo thing did more for Dr Stone sales than 8 anime episodes

you have to wonder who's watching the anime? does it even have more exposure now than it was without an anime?

sure, I guess?
generally amazon is not a good way of measuring audience reception (only big hits looks good on it and everything else look average or bad)

I think Tosh will try his hand at drawing a battle manga next. Wonder who he’d be willing to partner up with though?

Ooh, that's got potential for a cool discussion topic.

Out of the mangaka that had a series axed or concluded in 2019, who would you like to return, and with what kind of manga?

Personally, I'd like Daijiro Nonoue (The Last Saiyuki) to come back. It'd be neat if he did his take on something whimsical and childish, like Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh!, but with some kind of dark twist. I feel like that would play to his strengths as a storyteller.

Yes I know that Yu-Gi-Oh is already Yu-Gi-Oh with a dark twist

I think I have the exact same answer. But to give another one...

Uh, make Hinomaru's author come back with another sports comic. That would be great, I already miss Hinomaru, and Jump isn't doing too hot for me in the genre lately

I'd be interested in seeing Nonoue come back as well, but also I really want Numa Shun to have a new series as well (Samon ended years ago, but he had a one shot this year, so it still counts).

Amazon did accurately predict Saiyuki would be a massive bomb, Spy x Family being a hit with Heart Gear and Yui doing meh to poor from what I remember.

Exactly. Which is why I'm putting some degree of relative faith in the numbers.

Also Amazon rankings for Jump+ newbies
It's Time for Interrogation, Princess! is at ranked place 2016 (!)
Tonari no Heya Kara at 39931

Princess having good sales would correlate with the manga doing nicely in Jump+ as well, we'll see.

/a/nons call every new manga axed and sometimes they're are right
do they "accurately predict" flops too?

if you call everything a flop you're eventually going to be right on some cases

Spy x Family being a hit with Heart Gear and Yui doing meh to poor from what I remember.

i already addressed this in my post

only big hits looks good on it and everything else look average or bad

imo, you people are giving amazon too much credit, but whatever...you're free to do what you want
