Those series were launched before Viz started to simulpub each new series.David and Japan weren't given simulpubs from Viz either. Something tells me that they're not doing gag manga.
They already said in their podcast that they will simulpub it under the name Mitama Security: Spirit Buster.Viz know it's a waste of energy, cuz it's an axe fodder genre in wsj![]()
So I just want to throw in my two cents regarding Tanjirou as a MC. Of course, this is just my perspective, but there's something about the way Tanjirou empathizes with others that just... resonates with me on a different class than all the other MCs you mentioned. You're right that other MCs have that quality, but Tanjirou always felt very "authentic" and just so "sincere" to me, to the extent that I tear up and seriously wish there were more people like him in the world. That's the thing that stands out to me about him. I actually feel something when Tanjirou shows kindness to his enemies, and I really can't say I feel the same when I'm reading those other manga series. Just my thoughts on the matter though! It's all subjective. It does?
I mean, if you like the series for its atmosphere, that's fine (one of the things I love most about the Bleach manga is the way Kubo can create tension or awe with a simple drawing). But the MCs from TPN, Seraph of the End, World Trigger, Inuyasha, Blue Exorcist, YYH, Bleach, Shaman King and a ton of other series also empathise with the species they are fighting / that killed their family. Hell, I'd even argue that it's MORE rare to see a shonen MC who DOESN'T do that, because I can't think of any.
Also, explaining the backstory of the enemies just before/after/while they are dying is something Bleach did a lot.
That's a very good reason. I also sometimes have series/characters that really grab me, even though at first sight they don't seem different from any other shonen (hero). So I just want to throw in my two cents regarding Tanjirou as a MC. Uh...yes. Young Jump is a seinen mag, best known for running Tokyo Ghoul, Kingdom, Kaguya-sama and Golden Kamuy. This might be a stupid question, but is 'young' supposed to be older than 'shonen'?
Because I just noticed that pretty much all Weekly Young Jump readers are adults.

Young as in young adult, they leave out some of the context with that title. This might be a stupid question, but is 'young' supposed to be older than 'shonen'?

"Young" is a demographic/publishing label set between shounen and seinen. This might be a stupid question, but is 'young' supposed to be older than 'shonen'?
Okay, now I'm confused. So YJ series like Kingdom and Tokyo Ghoul aren't actually "seinen" by Jump's definition, they're more along the lines of just a mature readers line for the main publication?"Young" is a demographic set between shounen and seinen.
Well... those two do seem more like darker shonen, don't they? Compared to something like Space Brothers, it feels pretty different.Okay, now I'm confused. So YJ series like Kingdom and Tokyo Ghoul aren't actually "seinen" by Jump's definition, they're more along the lines of just a mature readers line for the main publication?
Golden Kamuy is very often compared to Gintama in terms of tone and style, so honestly even it feels the bill of just being a mature readers book rather than something geared specifically at adults.Well... those two do seem more like darker shonen, don't they? Compared to something like Space Brothers, it feels pretty different.
Then again, Golden Kamui does feel like a full-blown seinen, so who knows.
"Young" label for the most part is meant to cater towards the age group between "Shounen" (WSJ, WSM, Sunday, etc.) and "Seinen" magazines (Manga Action, Big Comic Spirits, Morning, etc).Okay, now I'm confused. So YJ series like Kingdom and Tokyo Ghoul aren't actually "seinen" by Jump's definition, they're more along the lines of just a mature readers line for the main publication?
Did Black Clover reach that figure ?KnY Series has accumulated 10 million breakthrough
Most recent figure for it was 9M.Did Black Clover reach that figure ?
And since then ? No data ?Most recent figure for it was 9M.
It was on its lastest volume in July iirc. And since then ? No data ?
It depends on which of the two will end first.-Neverland is at 13 million
-Kimetsu is at 10 million
I wonder if Kimetsu will be able to beat Neverland in million copies in circulation at the rhytm both of them are going.
