i dont see heroaca going that long in its current form.

I think BLack Clover will last the longest followed by Haikyuu!! So much potential for Haikyuu!! and the constant teases for 2nd and 3rd year hinata and co school and beyond.

Based on Oda's recent statement that he wants to finish One Piece five years from now (let's believe) in the same period that future you will see for the other series, or how much you think they will last in years and volumes?

I think Hunter X Hunter is one of those that doesn't need to worry, since it will go on as long as Togashi wants it. So boh.

Haykyuu will surely exceed 40 volumes, perhaps it will reach 45-50, so in the next three years its continuation should be affirmed.

My Hero if I remember correctly at the time of the volume 19 Hori said he had reached half of the story, so I think he intends to finish it for the 38-40 volume. But it is also true that given the success, the Jump could extend it a bit, so he too could exceed 40 volumes and perhaps reach 50.

I think Black Clover will reach about 35-40 volumes, so I guess it will end in the next 3-4 years ...

Kimetsu and Neverland see them as those manga that even though huge sales are not made to last for years, within the next two years they could end.

Ditto for We Can't Study, since the romcoms don't usually last long. As well as Yuna.

Jujutsu if with the anime it reaches 400k and the author does not finish the fantasy I think it will last a lot. If instead it turns out to be a good and medium-duration manga like Kimetsu, then I think it will end sooner.

Dr Stone and Chiansaw Man are unknowns to me.

Samurai according to what Kishimoto says will not be too long ...

Clarification on the MHA thing, Hori said around the release of Movie 1 that he originally planned for a 30 volume run...but that his plans had expanded to about twice that.

Take that as you will.

I don’t think Horikoshi’s statements on the hen he believes the manga will end is credible.

He once said that the Sports Festival Arc ended up going on twice as long as he initially planned. And he initially on planned for the series to last 30 Volumes. I’m will to bet there are many more arcs since that statement that went on longer than he planned(Class A Vs Class B Arc comes to mind, and I wouldn’t be shocked if My Villain Academia went on longer than he planned)

Point is, Horikoshi seems like he’ll be one of those mangaka similar to Oda, where things turn out going on way longer than he tells us they go. So wouldn’t be shocked if MHA ended up lasting 50ish+ volumes if Horikoshi is predicting 38-40

He had said that 30 volumes were not enough.

And that volume 19 marked half the story.

More than 50 seems to me exaggerated, in the whole history of the Jump only six manga have exceeded that figure, and we talk about the most selled manga ....

MHA is one of the biggest sellers of the modern Jump. And it’s highly unlikely that we’ll come across more series like Naruto, One Piece, etc. that sell insane numbers, and 1-2 Mil+ Per volumes.

I don’t think series like Black Clover or MHA going on 50+ Volumes, or as long as the creators want is very far fetched

More than 40 is indeed possible, but more than 50 I don't think ....

Neverland's current arc is straight up being marketed as its final one. Judging by the current pacing of that arc, I'm having trouble imagining it going longer than another year. I'd even be willing to bet that things will wrap up within the next six months.

Haikyuu will most likely end in 2022 unless it decides to add some random extra tournament out of nowhere.
Do you think they will win this year's tournament?

Because I don't. I think they will take second or third place, and then come back next year for the title.

That's not 'adding some random extra tournament out of nowhere,' it's a logical continuation of the story.

Dr Stone and Chiansaw Man are unknowns to me.
Dr Stone is indeed in a weird place right now. It could easily wrap up the story in five chapters, but it could just as easily go on for another 20 years.

Stone is a tad tricky, but I don't see see it going that much longer given its current pacing. I'd imagine by the end of the publication year the current arc will be done, and after that there's relatively little left to do beyond moving into a final arc. How long the final arc + epilogue would exactly be is again speculative, but the series pacing is such that I hardly imagine it being that long.

For reference, I wouldn't be surprised if the roster come the latter half of 2020 looks like this:

-One Piece
-Haikyu
-My Hero Academia
-Black Clover
-Act-Age
-Jujutsu Kaisen
-Chainsaw Man
-Samurai 8
-Mission: Yozakura Family
-New Series from Masaoki Shindo
-Fantasies by Ohsuga Gen
-New Romance Manga by Tsunehiro Date
-Sci-Fi series from Takamasa Moue
-New series from Random Author
-Fodder
-Fodder
-Fodder
-Fodder
-Fodder
-Gag Manga for the Kids.

Obviously a lot of this is speculative (and Yozakura is borderline indulgence on my part), but that's my take on things.

What's the source for this?

I know the originally 30 volumes things(well, after it was first extended) comes from the interview he did with Oda, and he also said it wouldn't be nearly enough. Then Oda told him to do 50 instead and he said he wasn't sure if he could last ten years. But I don't think he mentioned any actual current length plan.

Sorry for being off-topic, where did the WT thread go to? I wanted to talk about the two new chapters but I saw no thread where it usually was...

Hmm. Maybe have to make one. If there was an old one, it should show up, unless it was deleted (which seems unlikely).

Am I the only one that gets Black Cat vibes from Yozakura? Maybe that’s why I’ve been enjoying it.

There’s literally no way Dr.Stone could wrap up in 5 chapters lol.

The fodder will probably be all sports manga featuring something from the Olympics, Jump always does this. Beast Children is in the magazine basically because the Rugby World Cup is in Japan this year, from September 20th to November 2nd. Although it is in dead last according to the last TOC I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts until November because... You know... :P

Actually, Beast Children seems to have primed itself already for cancellation, which is kinda amusing TBH.

A series will only last as long as it is commercially solid.

HQ has declined considerably but it has lasted because even with the decline, it has solid sales.
I don't see BC lasting more than 2 years tbh. It really depends on whether or not its sales are consistent or if it'll start to decline. If it starts to decline (small or big), its time will be limited.
Same applies to MHA but MHA has enough sales to be around for 3 years at least.
