The Yozakura chapter was pretty nice. Looking forward to reading more of the series. Hopefully the author manages to keep the series interesting and it might have a chance to survive for a while.
Yozakura continues to build itself. The actual main events were kinda fillery, but it did give payoff to the previous chapter, so it's fine. Seems we're already getting into a plot arc as well, so the pacing continues to be strong.
Mitama meanwhile has left me confused as to why editorial even greenlit it. Even considering the importance of the Kodomo market, the premise is so incredibly limited that every chapter has been a redo of the first with a slightly different base scenario.
Since we were talking about the controversial choice made in Fuuka, are there any series in WSJ or even in Shueisha where an author made a choice as controversial as this and was bashed online because of it? The only series I can think of is when Ishida decided to end Tokyo Ghoul out of the blue and for 1-2 weeks people didn't know the series would continue.
There was an especially infamous incident with the manga Kannagi where the series implied the heroine wasn't a virgin, and otaku literally started setting their copies on fire in protest. Nothing from Shueisha though, to my knowledge.
The episode just proved that people in manga community are not ready for true literature. Man, that was the best plot twist I've ever seen even now. It was magnificent, the apex of Seo Kouji career.
We Never Learn pales in comparison to that. I don't even like to talk about We Never Learn because it frustrates me the fact that it was supposed to substitute my favorite manga (Nisekoi) and doesn't come even close.
I enjoy a lot Naruiyuki and Ashumi relationship. This week chapter (which is now the previous chapter since a new issue was released?) was about them and I enjoyed a lot. The other girls are generally meh, when it is a chapter with the teacher I think about dropping it. It is this roller coaster.
Chainsawman chapter this week is the perfect exemple of why I read this series. Denji: "Let's kick him in the balls and see who gets the biggest scream out of him"
Legit though Fujimoto wouldn't have gone through with that, I'm glad I was wrong.

Death Note continuing past that point is something I've always had a hard time understanding. The confrontation between the two people from the beginning finally came to an end in an incredible way, yet the series continues with other characters. The middle point was the end of Death Note for me. I've tried reading the series several times, watching the anime, I've never had the interest to continue after that.
I like the second part of DN. *shrug* It's definitely messier than the first, but the actual ending is my favorite part of the whole series, so I'm perfectly fine if that's the way they found to get there.
On a deeper thought, I think Mitama takes the cake as being the worst new series of the year. Even accounting for its genre, it's quality is inexcusable IMO.
I know that there is all the spoiler stuff, but there is still anything in Death Note that can be considered spoiler? Everything has its limits. :P
What happens in Death Note is so common knowledge in our community that it is like a rite of initiation. If you don't know, go back and try again. XD
Screw the haters, especially you Rain. You don't even like gag manga in the first place. Why do you even bother repeating your opinion as fact again and again?
Fyi, Mitama is the only series started in this year that didn't bore me to death within its first chapter.
Yozakura ch. 4 was ok. Seeing the results of Taiyo's training was nice, but that teacher was annoying. Let's see where the plot goes in the next chapter.
I dropped Mitama after the first chapter, but wanted to see if it got any better. I can't even describe how irrationally pissed off I'm at the main heroine for always having the same open mouth, wide eyes, shocked expression. In just 3 chapters that same face appears over 40 times. Yes, I counted.
