Good guess, but no. I actually just have two large totes and a filing cabinet(yes, I know)full of volumes that I do not have shelf room to put out. My room has those dumb slanted ceilings, so a third of my wall space is basically worthless.
I buy a few select magazines (to which I have a subscription through honto.jp) mostly because I've found that getting the magazine itself, makes it way easier for me to know what's actually going on with the series in the main magazines and also it makes it easier to know what new series are actually published. usually when I like a new series I decide whether I want to buy the volumes if it's interests me enough, a lot of times it doesn't so I just end up quickly reading through each week. I'm also in the process of getting some volumes I had physically before of authors I really like and buying volumes of ongoing series I once followed through scans.
Though I've become much stricter in what series I follow right now or which series I buy the volumes off since if I bought everything I wanted I'd end up spending that much:
Yep manga is expensive when you actually buy volumes
Well, I select my readings through the cover of the volumes first, Amazon is a good place for that, they already know my tastes as well. :P
And then I download the sample (in my picture it says 286 in the library, but most of them are sample :P) and see if I like it, sometimes it is a sure hit with only one chapter, but sometimes I look for more chapters in the publisher website, some of them have it. It is rare the occasion when I drop after one volume, so it works for me. Twitter is also a good platform, some of my favorites authors are there and following some Japanese news site about manga also make for good findings.
You spent that through years of collection, right? So it is not that expensive. I generally control myself each month and generally buy $15 worth of digital mangas/light novels, which is 3 or 4 volumes. Once my physical volume purchases became even more rare I may increase the budget.

Another question that complements this one is: Do you guys have any series that you buy both in digital and physical volumes?
I generally don't do that for obvious reasons, but there is one for me and it is just because the covers are so gorgeous that I couldn't help but buying. The story is great as well so I recommend.

There is one series for which I actually bought all the physical volumes and then the digital volumes. It's Destro 246 a series by the author of Jormungand. I use to translate that series when I was still into Edited Manga and the only reason I did that is because I wanted to be able to read the series whenever I wanted. I also bought a limited edition of that series for volume 3 when I went to Japan since I found the limited edition for 100¥ and the volume has stickers included and color drawings by the artist. I now have two physical copies of the same volume on top of the digital volume lmao
Just saying that would be one thing that made the story feel in complete had Kishimoto ended the series at the Sasuke retrieval arc.
Whether Kishimoto handled Orochimaru well or not in the series as it stands now is a completely different story though
I picked Ichigo but honestly my vote could have easily gone to I''s. I think both had the perfect balance of romance and comedy, the best set of characters and didn't overstay their welcome. If Nisekoi didn't do all that filler it probably could have been a good contender.
I have a soft spot for To-Love Ru. The main character is slightly irritating and it’s repetitive as hell, but the girls are great. Specifically, Darkness & Momo. The comedy also gets me from time to time.
I picked I's because it's got all the elements I like in a non action manga, in that there is drama and you get plunged into the characters feelings. Yuuna and WNL are on my "manga to buy" list so gonna read those in one go once they're complete. TLR and TLRD is just really well done but the series is mostly oriented towards the comedic and ecchi aspect of the whole thing, things I don't really care that much anymore when reading manga.
Nisekoi was nice but it's still not above the other series in my opinion.
Btw for those who really like TLRD it's got a successor in Jump SQ and the editing department even edits the manga partly in color for each issues, it's this
Jump never managed to make a rom-com I really liked (never read I''s, though), so I picked other - in this case, Hatsukoi Limited, which I actually enjoyed well enough. Yozakura can get there easily if it keeps that level for a few more chapters. (not sure if I would consider it a romcom exactly, though)

I think Yozakura, the way its started can switch genres pretty quickly in the series and the author can then choose either to make it a full blown action series or focus more on the romance part. The way it's going though I think the series will focus more on the action overall. Well we'll be fixed next week as this should be the beginning of an arc that'll last a few chapters.
As a follow-up to the digital/print stuff, here’s my Jump Comics volumes from Bookwalker. I highly recommend supporting series this way, as coin rewards have kept the costs of this stuff surprisingly low. And it can’t be said enough, it supports the authors of stuff you like.
I’d love to see other users’ Jump collections, print/digital, English/Japanese, and such. I think it’s a good way to get a grip on each other’s tastes.
Unless this is too similar to stuff already done in collection threads, but we’ll cross that bridge after I click post.
I feel like a lot of people haven't read Ichigo 100%. So let me make the case: The girls feel like real people (probaby because a women wrote the series), the characters have goals and dreams beyond just being with the Main character, the Manga doesn't just end after the MC gets into a relationship and sells you that as a happy ending (There are a lot of issues you have to deal with to mantain a relationship). Its just well written all around with enough drama to keep you interested in whats happening.

This is true, I think the romance between the two protagonists will be the driving force for the action, but not the main point. It is astonishing, to say the least, that people are already tagging it as romcom AND voting for it as their favorite romcom despite the series having 3 chapters, 3 chapters, guys! After that, I'm not taking this poll seriously.

After I learned Japanese to a level where I can read mangas comfortably (light novels is still a on going learning), I'm just buying it, it is so cheap. It has been years since I read a scan. However, my collection is mostly non-Jump series, there is no reason to read in Japanese things widely available in English. That's also one of the reasons that kept me out of there for so long, what I read people simply will not discuss here because nobody reads it. lol
That said, my collection of Jump series is:
1) Act-Age
End of the list.
We can talk about the rest of the collection in another thread if it you interested.

I laughed at the list. I can dig the philosophy of buying less available things, it’s why I focus elsewhere mostly on Grand Jump and other less-talked about stuff, though I still probably skew pretty mainstream by Japanese reader standards I’m sure.
