Oh, I've heard of that. One reason I'm not really interested in that is the big white spot in the middle that cuts pages in half meaning that for double pages, you get a cut in the middle instead of seeing everything, shame really.
better than the physical spine lmao. Another reason why i bought it is i can get the english translated of Fist of the North Star one day (it is available in this format),

plus it is picking up steam (they have death note, gintama also), i am hoping for more Jump series to be serialized.

Mx0 and Harisugawa had potential to be really good romances if the author was capable of writing a long series.
I loved Harisugawa's characters. The characters didn't feel "trope-y" and just a fresh breath of air compared to all other romcoms out there.

Damn, the recency bias is strong with the poll.
How on earth can you vote for a manga just have not even release its first volume over other legendary titles?
It's also bafflingly hilarious when the leading title is We Never Learn. Fyi, I do enjoy reading wnl, but this manga's romance aspect is underwhelming at best.
The only justified reason I can think of to vote for them is that they're the only title you read in the list.
Fr, nisekoi is one of the most iconic romcom. The idea behind it is refreshing

Yeah but since I read volume digitally, I get the whole page on the screen whether I read on a smartphone or even my computer screen for now.

Just couldn't see myself reading something like that with a big crease in the middle.

I find it really surprising that Yozakura has so many votes. It's literally the 3rd while only having 4 chapters out and is not really a rom-com at all. I like the manga so far, but come on.

WNL was always more of a slice of life to me.

Just ignore the votes if you're wanting to discount a series for whatever reason.

The series in all honesty reminds me of some romance VNs I've read. Lots of SOL scenes and character stuff, only moderate focus on any kind of harem. More often than not the interactions feel more focused on being about a bunch of friends than any kind of romance.

I'm more surprised TLR has so many votes. Are people that dedicated to it?

So technically the series isn't part of WSJ anymore since the beginning of the year since it moves to Jump SQ but looking at the current progression and the world building introduced in early chapters, had it stayed in WSJ and assuming the series had kept a high popularity, I think World Trigger could have been a series to easily go for the 500-600 chapters or maybe even more meaning around 8-10 years of serialization left in the tank. Now that the series has moved to SQ the author is doing 2 chapters a month meaning the pace of the series will be much slower and for a monthly series, at the rate of 2 chapters a week, the max it could do would be around 8 years of serialization still.
So how do you think the switch to monthly format is going to impact World Trigger? Do you see it as a series that can last that long in SQ now? Do you think the series could have survived for 500-600 chapter in WSJ?

I think this talk is suited more for the SQ thread, but I believe that WT will and is thriving over there. It does help SQ hasn't launched anything well out of the newbies since the big 8 new series batch with Yuugai Shitei, Doukyuu ******, Kenshin and Majo no Kaigashuu in 2017. Maybe Dark Gathering will turn the tides.

I only have one thing to say about the poll.

Yunna is better than TLR to be honest. That was my vote btw. :3c I was also between WNL, 100% Ichigo and I"s.

It certainly feels different than the others to me on wsj as a romcom harem due to the study/career aspect at a point where I wouldn't be bothered if there was no winner.

done with the first part, I'm disregarding the coverssince I don't want it to run for to long (though I could just take the link for the cover, but the one on grid is on lower quality so nah)

2nd part is way easier, but definitely take longer since well... there are a few thousand of these
lol, the final run took 2 hours, so this was done 4 hours ago, I was just away from my PC thinking it would take longer

yeah, not gonna let the sheet embed here

Exactly! A lot of those VNs I alluded to tend to be about some kind of "goal", and the girls routes are just scenarios where you get a greater insight into how X character contributes to the core narrative, which is basically what WNL does. Contrast with Nisekoi, where the harem is the point.

would it be accurate to say Nisekoi is the biggest romcom Jump has ever run? It's kind of like the Naruto of the genre, weird as it is to say.
That would be Kimagure Orange Road. It is the biggest and had the most lasting cultural impact.

BTW, in case this hadn't been posted yet, Black Clover is getting its third LN. Apparently it's about Yuno.

in regard to discussion about digital vs physical
I read on pc, and I don't read manga on my phone ever
I only buy physical volumes for very specific group of manga for collecting purposes
and I only buy digital volumes for stuff I'm planning to read on the go

If i'm not mistaken, Osamu Akimoto never had any absence/hiatus in the 40 years of Kochikame, barely took a break after the end too already starting new series, the man is probably the healthiest person in Japan lol
after Kochikame end he started 4 new manga at the same time (yes you read this right)

Black Tiger in Grand Jump
Kyoto Jogakuin Monogatari Finder in Young Jump
a sequel for Ii Yu Da Ne in Ultra Jump and a sequel for Mr. Clice in Jump Square

Idk what for story u want but shippuden is already revolutionary written. U gonna end it with do many plot holes, are u an fan of naruto or just watched it?. Cuz you ignore alot of key points
I have a love hate relationship with Naruto, I would say I'm a fan rather than a casual reader
I was just giving my 2 cents on what would make me enjoy it even more

This would be top-34 Jump list of titles by sales. I'm bored so I'm posting this. Based on Savi/Easylove video (will there be a new video in 2020?

1. One Piece
2. Slam Dunk
3. Dragon Ball
4. Kochikame
5. Naruto
6. JoJo.
7. Fist of North Star
8. Bleach
9. Kinnikuman
10. HunterxHunter
11. Captain Tsubasa
12. Kenshin
13. Rokudenashi Blues
14. Prince of Tennis
15. Gintama
16. Shaman King (I still think the real numbers are way much lower)
17. Yu Yu Hakusho
18. Dragon Quest Dai no Daiboken
19. City Hunter
20. Yu-Gi-Oh!
21. Kuroko no Basket
22. Dr.Slump
23. Haikyuu!
24. Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
25. Death Note
26. Bastard!
27. Cobra
28. Sakigake Otokojuku!
29. Assassination Classroom
30. Hikaru no Go
31. Saint Seiya (pretty sure real sales numbers in Japan are around 35 million, placing it in place 21)
32. My Hero Academia
33. Toriko
34. D.Gray-man
I'm confused. What is this list again? If this is the WSJ manga with the most volumes sold, then its inaccurate.

Shaman King has twice as many volumes as yu yu hakusho, so it could sell more even with less fans.

Slam Dunk sold more then dragon ball? I find that hard to believe.

A list I'd like to see, jump series by how much they sold per volume, one piece sold more then dragon ball overall, but if you divide sales by volume amount dragon ball sold more per volume on average.
Wordwide:

ONE PIECE - 450m
Dragon Ball - 250m
NARUTO - 250m
Slam Dunk - 170m

Per volume both One Piece and Slam Dunk outsold DB btw, Slam Dunk also had the highest first print number for WSJ before One Piece took it

I've read 5 chapters of Jigokuraku so far in my effort to know more Jump+ mangas. It really has the potential to get even more interesting than it already is, we have characters that has the potential to have deep plots and I'm looking forward to knowing the history of the other criminals as well. It can be a pretty ethical dilemma for the readers to be between feeling a slightly pity for Gabimaru when he already slaughtered many people and wishing to see him dead. Sagiri is another character that I want to see the development... So many things to look forward to.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

While cleaning my collection (another con of physical books), I remembered two romances that had all the right to be there in the poll and I would make a strong case for them although I would still vote for Nisekoi.

The most unfairly cancelled manga in the history of Jump.

The best manga Miura Tadahiro has ever made.

Tadahiro only drew Koisome Momiji. The author was Tsugirou Sakamoto.
