Of the mangaka currently serialized in WSJ, do we know which are doing their artwork digitally vs. those that aren't?
there was a list last yearOf the mangaka currently serialized in WSJ, do we know which are doing their artwork digitally vs. those that aren't?
MHA switches between the two. Hori states that he uses Photoshop from time to time and the majority of the color pages were done digitally until 2017 when he switched to analog.there was a list last year
these are forsure though
Traditional:
One Piece
MHA
Black Clover
Haikyuu
Digital:
Yuuna
Act Age
We Never Learn
True, digital is often cleaner. It is generally possible to guess by the way the art looks.
Digital looks like anime art, in short. XDTrue, digital is often cleaner.
With JJK and CSM, you can tell their mangaka are doing it analog.
Yet ironically the WNL anime looks basically nothing like the manga, go figure.Digital looks like anime art, in short. XD
Yozakura is probably digital.
Also a lot of digital output don't look nearly as good as analog. Hori's digital art was terrible up until a few years ago but then he switch to analog after the Fantasy AU spread which looked fantastic. OPs digital coloring also looks pretty bad but that may be because Oda doesn't do them same with Kimetsu's digital color.True, digital is often cleaner.

I think he was referring to toning down on the, ahem, "porn faces" that some times showed up.Speaking of anime art, didn't Boichi say he was going to change his art in Dr. Stone to more match the anime?
Ah, yeah. He does tend to do that.I think he was referring to toning down on the, ahem, "porn faces" that some times showed up.
They did a very bad job then, not that it is easy to copy the style of a professional artist.Yet ironically the WNL anime looks basically nothing like the manga, go figure.
Oh yeah his digital art is also kinda meh. The way he uses color makes everything looks like plastic.Speaking of anime art, didn't Boichi say he was going to change his art in Dr. Stone to more match the anime?
I completely agree. It does seem like analog is becoming less prevalent nowadays. Also a lot of digital output don't look nearly as good as analog.
Eiichiro Oda doing digital art? When did this happen? I can't even imagine this, Oda is from the old days, I can see him drawing in a piece of parchment than in a tablet. He uses brush instead of pen, IIRC. Slam Dunk's mangaka did the same with Vagabond.Oh yeah his digital art is also kinda meh. The way he uses color makes everything looks like plastic.
Probably one of Posuka's TPN pages. Here's a question, best Color page / Cover on WSJ you've ever seen?
