Eiichiro Oda doing digital art? When did this happen? I can't even imagine this, Oda is from the old days, I can see him drawing in a piece of parchment than in a tablet. XD
No no I mean the person doing the digital color version of OP. Oda is all traditional but from timevto time he dies do digital, he even redraws flashback panels despite the fact he could easily copypaste them from another chaoter like all mangaka do nowadays.

Here's a question, best Color page / Cover on WSJ you've ever seen?
Hard question to answer most because it is hard to remember all of them.

Lead CP: Nurarihyon no Mago (when I think about good art, I think about Shiibashi)

CP: Nisekoi (No piece of colored paper will be more beautiful than this one)

Cover: Not because of the art itself, but because of what it meant to me back then.

my favorite WSJ cover is the first TPN got after its first chapter. I think its the best cover since I started following the TOC (it might be my bias, though. :p)

It depends. Compared to what?
If it's to the last decade, it's less competitive. If it's compared to 2015/2017 when there was the 30k club, then it's more competitive

I wouldn't say it is less competitive, but I think the bar is set lower now than it was before. Many long running series ended and with them the numbers they brought setting a new standard, looking at the conversation we had earlier. Back in 2011 when I started to follow TOCs because of Nisekoi we had série running for decades selling 400k+: Naruto, Bleach, Reborn, Gintama, Sket Dance, Bakuman, Beelzebub, Medaka Box, NuraMago, Kuroko. Not all of them sold 400k+, but you get the idea. Most of them are iconic, they wouldn't be cancelled even with bad rankings. New series had to fight against iconic mangas to get a chance.
Now what remains of this era is "just" One Piece, which nobody competes against anyway, and a bunch of young series that doesn't have the power that echelons had, you just have to be decently good to survive, while there you had to be great.

As someone who doesn't follow The Promised Neverland, I'm a bit surprised to see so many people saying they expect it to be the first one of the series in the poll to end. I really like Yuuna and We Never Learn, but I could realistically see both ending earlier next year, especially the latter unless the events of this last week's chapter prolong the series' testing arc and results. How much longer does everyone think The Promised Neverland has left?

It's confirmed to be in the climax of the final arc.

It will reach 2020, but it won't go much longer. Perhaps will end in the first batch of next year. That's what I expect to, at least.

As I've said already, I suspect the next batch to be around October with Taisei, Beast and Shinobi all getting the axe, with the batch after that being January with TPN and WNL ending + Yui getting the axe because that series has already been running far too long.

I must've missed that announcement. That's going to be a big hit to WSJ once that concludes, but at least it'll go out on top when the author thinks the timing is just right, similar to Assassination Classroom. What about Kimetsu? Didn't that one start its final arc a little ways back?

It's not officially in its final arc, but it's pretty obvious from context clues that the current arc is the conclusion (Chapter 140 is even called "Beginning of the Decisive Battle"). Still, it's going to almost certainly be the final series to end in the Reiwa 1 Massacre.

The irony is that I'd argue the modern series are generally stronger in terms of actual hard quality. Go figure.

You are the last person I would expect saying that. I see u dont watch black clover
I'm not talking about the quality of the anime or the manga (something subjective) i'm talking about you saying that Black Clover wasn't a seasonal anime because it was generic and wasn't worth having high quality animation and etc, this doesn't make any sense, by Nakano words they wanted BC to be a long running anime from the beginning and in a timeslot aimed for kids/teenagers like what they did with Naruto at the time (he precisely mentioned Naruto as a comparison) because they always saw the manga as one of their "classic battle shounen" kind of manga, that's it.

Seems about business as usual. Down to Samurai 8 being where it always is.
