I didn't have any particular complaint about Samurai 8 art then and now, the story is the problem.
Clearly you weren't around for the first few chapters then, because until Chapter 6 or so everyone was arguing about how Ohkubo's artwork suffered from a complete lack of line clarity that lead to characters vanishing into the backgrounds. This only faded because now most scenes are set in plain white rooms, open fields or space.

Talking about good art, I think I didn't comment Yui Kamio chapter this week... Man... The pool chapter in all its magnificence... Ayako was specially great.
It is unfortunate that it is ending, since the big boss was already introduced and all that stuff. The situation is hopeless, unfortunately... It will be the disappointment of the year like I said before, it can be beaten only by, maybe, Yozakura getting cancelled, if Jump readers are crazy enough to do that, but I learned not to underestimate them. XD

I was not and I saying my opinion without any external influences since I don't read reviews or comments then and now I only read here sporadically. I didn't have any issue, believe me.

It is not as detailed as Murata in my opinion, I think in terms of detailed art he is only behind Inoue and maybe Range Murata, this one in another aspect, in texture, his colors are as realistic as it can get.

There is right and wrong in technique and in what is considered good art, it has been lost these days with so many crappy art out there. Tite Kubo art is not bad at all, far from it, but in my opinion it could develop even more. There are levels to this, make an art detailed without looking crowded, harmony, perspective, anatomy, everything comes into play and this is all technique, there is no fuzzy concepts.
If it were that normal it wouldn't be a well known discussion the lack of background in Kubo's art, because people miss it sometimes.
Oh I don't disagree about the fact that it can be done without looking crowded. But that's besides the point. You're mixing artistic choice and technique tho. If an artist chooses to prioritize his time and effort on character art rather than backgrounds, that his choice. There are many models and background bits in Bleach that are detailed enough. It's just sprinkled every now and then across the series.
Like this little canopy of the building. Well detailed and then it shifts to the character with a plain background. Its very obvious, he chooses to not do it.

Also, I wouldn't hold the opinion about people "missing his background" that high. Most of the people who complained about his art/background and started meme-ing about it are the same people who complained about him using the first 1 or 2 pages of a chapter as a rewind of where the previous chapter stopped and acted like this was something new that Kubo did despite him doing it ever since he started Bleach. Long story short, lot of those complaints were from people who took up the manga AFTER watching the anime meaning they didn't know what Kubo's approach was in the manga and complained after comparing it to other ongoing manga.

The "Kubo is lazy, doesn't draw background" was never a serious discussion, just a meme and mostly used by haters or as a lazy argument to bash Kubo and Bleach during comparisons with other artists, i don't know how many times i saw the same kind of comment "look at this page, there's no background compared to these X and Y mangas, Bleach sucks!!!"

I never had any problem whatsoever with the art or its line clarity. Please don't say everyone like it is actually applicable.

Is there a reason I'm From Japan's cover is still absent? Did Japan expose himself to a fan again?

Also, on a more serious note, while I'm well aware how...taboo the subject is, are we allowed to take bets on S8's sales now? The Volume is only a week away...

Also, I notice that, despite being moved to V-Jump, Boruto is still listed under the main WSJ branding. Interesting.

Personally I'll be fine with Yabuki moving on from TLR into something new, hell with all the new author/artists duos in Jump, maybe he can team up with someone else and come back to the magazine
Yabuki released a one-shot about a decade ago, and I thought it was infinitely more interesting than TLR, if only because of the power system. Also, I consider Black Cat a more superior work despite not as massively popular as TLR.

That SnS cover is kinda nostalgic, it's sad how the series took such a nosedive towards the end. Still can't get over how good CSM vol. 4 and S8 vol. 2 cover are. The colouring on BC's volume is kinda weird, I noticed in the LQ preview, but I thought it was just the quality.

December will have both MHA and KNY releasing volumes together, it will be interesting to see how this unfolds. If KNY's boosts remains until then I wouldn't be surprised given its current popularity. It would be great to see it happening too. Also, curious to see if MHA's new season will be able to give the series any sort of boost granted that the previous boosts that the series got for S2 and S3 were unusual.

So.. the timeframe during which the Gold Future Cup usually runs just kind of came and went, huh?

I guess they're taking a year off, which is apparently pretty rare but not unprecedented. Was there ever any public explanation regarding that?

Here's a general question I think is worth asking:

Do you guys think Jump should always listen to the general consensus regarding new series and axe the ones which don't have an good reception quickly as soon as possible? Asking because, looking at Yui Kamio, I feel we could've been spared a colossal headache if Jump just axed Shiibashi early.
