I think trying to discern when Dr. Stone will end is a futile exercise. The current arc might very well be the final one, and it's just as possible to see the series continuing for a long time afterwards, the series changed pace and tone many times during its run for us to know what comes next.
That would be the most anti climactic series ever.
Just cuz we getting close to the truth of the perification, that is just 1 material. Doesnt mean its ending,,, thats like saying black clover would end after the elf arc. The world is big, we didnt even reach the quarter of the world
To be fair, the story will probably start wrapping up after they catch the 'big bad' and find out his reasons.

But we have no idea when that'll be.
Just like jojolion, its gonna take ages for that

Felt like sharing this nugget of trivia, according to a JP friend of mine, the JP Jump community considers Act-Age a sports manga. Spoken over there is divided into "traditional/physical" sports series (Slam Dunk, Haikyu, etc) and "cultural" ones (Hikaru no Go, probably Soma), with AA fitting into the latter category.

In other words, we aren't suffering a sports manga shortage after all! Who knew?

Act-age doesn't really fit into the alternate sports, there is competitive elements depending on the arc but even then it's distinctly different from something like Soma or Hikaru no Go which are just big tournament and vs focused-sports series except the sport isn't mainstream. It's an acting drama series, and that's its own separate genre really.

People just love to categorise stuff into neat little boxes, even if they need to force the lid open too wide.

Not really disagreeing with you one way or another, just felt like sharing because I found it interesting.

TF? JJL is clearly ending within a year.

I think he's referring to the infamously prolonged search for the Rokakaka Fruit. AE is Japanese, so I don't be surprised that is English is iffy.

Act-Age is a sport manga? Hahahahahaa
That was a funny one, but let's move on.
I've never heard Shokugeki no Soma been classified as sports manga as well, it is an unorthodox battle shounen, Act-Age is kind of like that as well.

I think it could be argued act-age takes elements from sports series but I'd probably compare it closer to battle shonen if I had to pick a Jump genre to classify it as and even that's a stretch.

Saiki K ended before Gintama left, though it too moved to GIGA. There was also Isobee Monogatari, but I'm not sure if anyone even remembers that series...

Question, do you think there's a Jump manga in the last five years or so which realistically deserved a chance? Like, not a series which was selling 5k or less, but something which would've conceivably grew at a steady rate.
Most manga that sold over 15k in that graphic, I think. Even Amalgam of Distortion.

Interesting note, but it seems that 2.5D Seduction, that new ecchi romance who everyone is convinced is by Haruto Ikezawa, is doing surprisingly decent on Amazon in terms of sales.

Might be worth keeping an eye on.
I'm not too surprised 2.5D Seduction is doing well since it always seems to be number 1 on Jump+ for a considerable amount of time each time a chapter releases. I do love seeing all of the comments each chapter from Japanese readers talking about how Ikezawa finally has a good series. He definitely seems like a pretty controversial author. Half seem happy he's doing well, while others just point out past issues he's had.

What all is coming out next week? Isn't that supposed to be the long-awaited release of Samurai 8's volumes 1 and 2 as well?

Acting dramas are their own separate thing, Glass Mask, Skip Beat, Penguin Revolution, W Juliet, etc. Heck, if you wanted a less specific genre you could probably even expand it to a whole performance arts genre and include stuff like Kaleido Star and the various music/band manga.

WSJ's had attempts at that sort of stuff before. I think Act-age is the first to actually be successful but it's not the first attempt at least.

Yes, but it is unlikely that they will get into the top.

People are betting that it will sell, like 100k or more, despite the obnoxious ranking.
But remember that we are prohibited to talk about this, so I will not go any further.

Even with 100K it still wouldn't get in the top 7. There's also JJK besides those 6. This is quite a bloated month.

I put a very modest value, I think, the more delusional ones may imagine bigger figures. I, on the other hand, think it will not surpass 50k.

I want to see the poll of everyone's guesses, when is the poll going to show up? The volumes are almost out.

What did RxL v1 sell for reference? Since that was the last big new flop series by a hit creator to set the bar of what to expect (I know we currently have Yui Kamio but it's been a while since Nura ended, Shiibashi had another flop in between, and Nura was never a top front runner in sales anyway).
