I dunno about that first one because One Piece, HeroAca, and Yaiba all have scans before the official release as well, and those all have over a million views. Sure, one can say that they had more time to accumulate views, but the fact remains the same. Hell, One Piece has 3.6 million views on Manga+. Spy x Family, which has 1.7 million views and no Edited Mangas before release, isn’t even in its solar system and that’s #2.
One Piece's views are big basically because it's One Piece. Even if that doesn't seem enough of a reason for you, casual readers influenced by big people inside the community tend to read it officially or don't care that much about when it's out and read it whenever they remember about it. We could spend a whole day looking for reasons and every single one of them would be valid, so let's sum it up as what it is: It's One Piece.
My Hero Academia's views are actually really low. It actually doesn't get more than 30-40k views per chapter, which is really low considering how big the popularity of the series is. The fact that it has so many views right now is that when M+ launched, every single series received huge boosts of views. Heck, MHA was the most viewed series in the app for a long time until it was surpassed by One Piece. Since then, it does as every other single series with scans: poorly.
Kimetsu no Yaiba reached 1 million like 2 days ago. In fact, around 2 weeks ago it still was around 700k views. Anime boost has made it get around 100k views per week for 2 weeks +/-, but that's all. Also, Kimetsu scans are also pretty recent, and for casual fans that got used to reading it on the app, it's like if they didn't actually exist. Also, sometimes they have even been irregular with releases, so that doesn't help creating much of an effect on the series.
I'll say it again: Using views in M+ as a meter for series' popularity outside of Japan when a huge proportion of those views are directed to scans doesn't give exact results. Chainsaw Man, Black Clover or Haikyu!! are perfect examples of not having competent views and still being some of the most famous series in the western community. And this is all guessing, but if One Piece or MHA didn't have scans, I'm sure both would have double the views they have right now.
What I want to say is that it's not a good meter for series with scans, but series without them can be actually measured and we can kind of estimate if the series is doing good or not, because the whole audience that's interested on the series is reading it through that platform.
i dont think thats the case ''not appealing''.. espcially how open minded people and even kids nowadays are with series. you have literaly kids saying ''Yo Read this act-age!! its fire bro, its heat gas'' blabla other twitter slangs, thats receivement is something you never would expect from an acting manga. it just hasnt an anime yet or is annouced for it
Even if there's a big fanbase for Act-Age, its size is not even close to other series right now. It will grow, but doing no more than 15k views every single week means series is not as popular as others, since that's the same amount of views Tokyo Shinobi Squad gets.
