I don't think so. The art is unlike Usazaki's and Yonagi doesn't have two crossed hair strands above her nose.

I think it’s strange that their promo for the actual volume doesn’t match their promo within the magazine itself.

With the large estimated initial print, the thousands of flyers they printed out for it, you’d think that Jump would have been putting S8 near the front of the magazine and giving it color pages regardless of how well it was doing in the weekly polls.

Yeah. It is a strange lack of synchrony.

I mean, many think that the position in the TOC can be chosen exclusively based on a series that Jump want to push regardless weekly polls.

However, it is clear that the Jump wants to push Samurai 8, but they threw it quite quickly to the bottom.

Damn Rain specter seems to be that infamous guy on Twitter I've heard so much about always bringing up S8 and trying to show it's initial under performance thinking this will last forever lol.

Did they already announce the release dates for the next volumes of TSS and Double Taisei? Pretty strange if Beast Children's volume releases separately from the other 2, especially since it was the lowest seller of the 3

Isn't that a bit odd if all 3 of these series seem to be ending around the same time, unless Beast Children either doesn't get cancelled yet or it's the only one getting cancelled now; neither of which seems too likely, especially the latter. If Double Taisei's volume releases on February 16th though...

so after sales of s8 people think it the fault of kishi and editor and artist that cool but now they few are pointing that naruto was successful because of changes made by the editor but not the one who actually wrote it. so editor saying change his character name so even though the editor didn't write the story or gave new name the credit goes to editor because he said to change it but not the one who came up his story or new name of the character. the context you guys are using the interview to point that s8 failing in sale and his previous work being the result of the editor not the author is pretty lame. the editor was doing his job.
so if the editor was the reason what naruto is now so best selling manga one piece is also editors work not oda storytelling but the editors vision or planning made one piece most selling manga. if its oda work made one piece great then stop this bullshit that editor saved naruto or it would be same thing like s8. even if they went with Kishi ideas that doesn't mean it would fail it could go both ways.

Yup, that's the thing I don't get either. Like, I understand Shueisha choosing to not try pushing S8 in the magazine if the series didn't get the response they desired (which it didn't), but then why the stuff with the flyers? Was there a miscommunication between editorial and whoever handles distribution? That's the only answer which makes sense to me.

The Promised Neverland has become a normal shonen after this chapter. Very disappointing. RIP
I just don't drop it because it's ending anyway.

Read My Hero Academia as well and it sounded so much like the introduction of the final boss that I don't even want to think about it.

One Piece was epic and why you do this to us Oda! This man calculates even his breaks to match with the best cliffhangers. Way to transform breaks in art. XD

Beast Children is taking so long to finish this match that, yeah, I think this going to be the final arc and that's it.

That's a good possibility, actually, but I was more thinking it may be the final chapter or two being animated, hence why it'd release with the final volume.

Generally what happens to new series is that people get awareness of it gradually and the sales increase accompanied by good rankings in the magazine. This is not Samurai 8 case in both fronts. First, it's a series from a very known author and after the massive promotion there is no way everybody is not aware of it, people are just not buying at this point which greatly limits its sales growth. The rankings has been bad since it started practically so unless the series make a complete turn around in terms of quality to convince people to go back to it, I don't see much hope.

Uh, I'm sure Oda's editor asked him to change stuff (that's his job), but that's not him or Oda telling this. Is another author saying how he felt reading the manga (which he only read 7 volumes, by the way), without any clear information. That comparison makes no sense.

Now obviously the Table of Contents has never been an exact placement of the poll results, so why don't the editors artificially bump Samurai 8 up?
Does this mean that they try to keep the general order about the same to correspond with the vote counts even at the expense of promotion?

Isn't Egawa the guy who claimed that Barefoot Gen was a morally damaging manga because it dared to speak against the Japanese government?
