As some as you may already know, I have been helping Buranchi with the polls for a while. However, there isn't much I can do alone, so any kind of feedback: criticism, idea for future polls, etc would really be welcome
To add to this, I'd prefer if there wasn't more than six selectable options, also.

If anyone wants to know some rough math:

Tis Time For "Torture," Princess: 37,000 views and 18 chapters = 1542 views per chapter
Mitama Security: 33,000 views and 6 chapters = 5500 views per chapter

Just looking at the total view numbers and declaring one more popular than the other is a bit short-sighted right now, since there's a significant disparity in chapter count. Like Raf says, the best gauge will be to see how much each manga's viewcount increases when they get new chapters.
It's not the number that's impressive, but the speed. ~50 000 hits in 12 hours isn't common.

(Also there's 24 chapters.)

Dragon Ball Super and New Prince of Tennis Super Stages were also announced. There are 12 super stages each year at Jump Festa. so that leaves 3 spots left

- OP
- HQ
- MHA
- KnY
- TPN
- BC
- Stone
- DBS
- NPOT
- ???
- ???
- ???

I'm guessing the final 3 spots will go to Boruto (100% chance imo), Gintama, and possibly We Never Learn or another Jump SQ series
This might be a stupid question, but why is Yugi there? Do they just add random Jump characters or should we expect another YGO spin-off?

Yu-Gi-Oh is still strong as TCG. If there's a series infinitely marketable is Yu-Gi-Oh.

Good catch. I'm not sure why I wrote 18, because the math was still for 24 chapters. The 1542 views per chapter figure is still correct.

I should note that I also don't have any idea what the precedent is for series featured on the banner, but there's going to be a new YGO series anime in 2020, and we don't have any details about it yet. Maybe we'll get some here?

Shoseki ranking is out for October 6 and it looks like TPN overtook KNY for #2. Could it be because they underprinted? Also all the other volumes are ranked 10-25.

For those wondering about Samurai 8's standing:
Volume 1 has dropped to 51st place.
Volume 2 has dropped to 58th.

What is the usual cut for the Oricon top 50? 15k-20k?
Then things are really bad

Since Kimetsu is gaining insane popularity and sales I think this won't be the final arc or battle, the manga might continue much longer

You do realize Nakano outright said in a recent interview they weren't extending series any longer, right? Assassination Classroom taught them that.

It's dipped a bit above Hinomaru, but 1. Hinomaru was much higher on the first day and 2. S8 is massively overstocked.

Yeah, it looks...not great. Vol 2 isn't even on the Honto weekly Top 100, while Vol 1 is just scrapping in at 89th.

I like this poll, but if you pick it be sure to specify whether you mean calendar year or serialization year, since one ends a month earlier than the other.

Alternately, to make things less confusing and more timely, the question could instead be "How many new WSJ series will be launched in the next batch?".

If the mangaka wants to extend it or has a good story or arc up his sleeve I think they will allow him. But personally, I think just like Assassination Classroom and TPN the author already has a set ending in mind and hope he won't just extend it just because it exploded

So, looking at the first three days of Shoseki, my best estimate as to how much Samurai 8 is going to do is a total 30k for Vol 1, and 25k for Vol 2.

For reference, those Vol 1 sales are less than half of Robot x Laserbeam's, and basically equal to that Hungry Marie. Even if you put both volumes together, RxL still beats it.

Considering the amount of promotion sunken into the series...yikes.

Spy is on track to be as big or bigger when MHA debutted in 2014 (it already beaten TPN).

2014/11/4 Boku no Hero Academia 1 22,779 233,330 (Jan 5 to 11th) (this was under stock because Shuiesha trolled)
2015/01/5 Boku no Hero Academia 2 167,531 (Jan 5 to 11th)
2015/01/5 Boku no Hero Academia 2 37,274 205,179 (14 days sale)

Assassination Classroom has 1 million copies in print after several reprint at volume 1. Still unbeatable for new series.

edit: don't remove white-spaces reeeeeeeeeeee
