You're really underselling how badly Samurai 8 is doing. The series had most likely hundreds of millions of yen pumped into advertising it, it was built up to for over three years (first mention of Kishi doing an SF manga was when the Boruto movie came out in October 2015), and, oh yes, Kishimoto is one of the biggest creators in the history of manga. And, even after the series got a mixed at best reception, Jump still gave it a first printing of at least 100k for both volumes. You quoted me after they deleted my comment lol
But answering, no i'm not talking as if Kishimoto is like any other author but your comment was way too much dramactic, Samurai 8 isn't selling like expected while they made some bigger effort to market it, so what? this happens from time to time with bigger names not selling like expected, do the regular reader even care? people will stop buying SJ because of this? the regular reader isn't a person in a forum being overdramactic about manga sales, print and etc.
Don't know why you're acting like this suddenly proves anything about your opinion regarding treatment, or SJ should basically do nothing to promote a new manga from such a big name?
And what do we have to show for that? A series that, on its debut week, can't beat Hinomaru Zumo, and is selling less than Hungry Marie was able to do. This is not a remotely positive result, it shows that, at best, the series is running purely on the fumes of Naruto and whatever prior advertising was given. It's selling about a tenth of its expected result. That's a businessman's worst nightmare.
Wikipedia says the anime started October 2004, so it would be about mid-Soul Society. What chapter was Bleach on when the anime first aired?
