I am not denying it,but look at TPN for example,it's first arc that the first season covered is uniformly consIdered much better than the first cour of Kimetsu,the adaptation wasn't definitely as great as Ufotable and cut some of the important monologues.


The manga did receive a huge boost after the anime aired but correct me if I am wrong but it didn't reach a level where we were discussing if TPN could displace OP from the first position like we are discussing with Kimetsu now.


Especially considering the fact TPN was selling much more than Kimetsu before both of their anime aired.


So in my opinion Ufotable did have a major role in the boost.

No, the reason kimetsu backlog is better is because the rest of kimetsu volumes are better quality.

Also, the latest BNHA hammered into me exactly what makes the series so meh for me for the past few years. If you analyze the purpose of each scene, literally all of it is setup. Hyping up the in four months, in the future, blah blah. And then it never delivers.
The only times BNHA has delivered is AFO vs OFA. I'm very curious if BNHA will be able to maintain its popularity during this pre four months period. But I'm sure it'll grow like crazy once stuff goes down.

No, the reason kimetsu backlog is better is because the rest of kimetsu volumes are better quality.

Quality=/=sales.
A good series could sell well but a big seller could not be good.

There isn't a formula to determine what could make a series big or what make the series sells less.
999 and Virtue last reward is like previous uchikoshi games in a escape room but in japan were a failure. Kodaka's manga were a flop while danganronpa is huge.

So MHA continue to sell isn't a surprise, people see the appeal and buy it.

Yeah, it definitely seems like only certain parts of Japan won’t be broadcasting the episode, as they will have typhoon coverage broadcast instead. This is opposed to a full on delay. It’ll probably still hit Crunchyroll and Funimation on time.

I like the OP. Not as good compared to some other HeroAca openings, but it’s one of the better OPs this season, I find.

Went and saw all the current Jump anime OPs:

1. Dr. Stone (Good visuals, good song. All these characters look interesting, I need to catch up.)
2. Black Clover (I think it’s about similar in quality to MHA’s OP, though this edges out over MHA due to sheer style, though the song might take some getting used to.)
3. My Hero Academia (a bit disappointed considering past OPs, but nonetheless still solid. Then again, I need to see all of it again in better quality.)
4. We Never Learn (I like the visuals but the song sounds kinda generic - again, might take some getting used to. Also, I don’t think it really tells me anything besides the fact that girls study with guy. Perhaps I’m missing something.)
5. Shokugeki no Soma (It starts off decent then devolves into panning shots. Not much to see here, honestly.)

Just my opinion, though.

I mean, it's possible people were turned off by the art style (which has been criticized by some people) so seeing the animated version got people invested in the story so they were willing to look past it to get into the manga as well.

Not saying this is right, but it might be true for some people.

btw, three points on past discussions:

A-1 Pictures and Cloverworks have mostly producers and production assistants. Animators, directors and so on are freelancers by far, so they're much more dependent on staff than any other, which is why calling them by name isn't relevant

Toei won't pick anything, calm down. World Trigger was the last thing from wsj they picked and that was 6 years ago. They are pretty focused on their own original titles and on established franchises, much like they don't do a late night since 2017

Lastly, think more about a staff being strong and on directors/series composition than a studio per se. Don't go just by the name of a studio as that's not a certain.

If they focus on the main MC's (non-)shenanigans, World's End Harem would just require the usual censoring out nipples. Not to mention there's been shows with full screen magic light censorship on the TV version before.
