this is your speculation disguised as a fact, it could be true, but as for now we don't know

Nobuaki Enoki: Completely AWOL since School Judgement was canceled in 2015.
wrong, they did a baseball oneshot a a couple of months ago

wrong, he did Hoshikuzu Wanderer oneshot in 2016

Kentaro Fukuda: Devilyman bombed in 2015 and was cancelled. Returned in 2019 with Double Taisei
wrong, he did miniseries between Devilyman and Double Taisei called Shinigiwa

Masahiro Hirakata: After Killco-san succeeded in cult following if not actual sales in 2012, returned in 2015 with Best Blue, which bombed. Is currently very active on twitter, but not doing much else.

how did yo know Galaxy Gangs is his dream?

Tsunehiro Date: struggled with direct competition from We Never Learn
this is your opinion disguised as a fact x2

Gen Osuga: Despite very positive reception from his one-shots
positive reception from who?

Gen Osuga: return with the excellent Fantasies one-shot
this is your opinion disguised as a fact x3

Ryoji Hirano:is currently doing KNY's 4-koma. Considering the positive press he's gotten.
wrong KnY 4koma ended + what's your source for "the positive press he's gotten." ??

Kazusa Inanoka: Invade You! came and went in 2018 without anyone as much as noticing. Has since done a Jump+ one-shot.
wrong, they did 3 oneshots after getting axed

Keiji Amatsuka: Seiji Tanaka has the "honor" of being the worst selling Jump manga in history
what's your source for this?? people collecting jump sales data is a recent thing for a very old company

Daijiro Nonoue: Nonoue has since deleted his twitter, making me feel he's quit manga entirely.
wrong, he never had a twitter account

Yuki Tanaka: Try not to be a xenophobe.
you have no evidence of this.

The purpose of waiting for Oricon is to actually compare if the data they provide is aligned with the data Shueisha has given and will help determine whether they're comparable numbers to those that have been stated for One Piece or not. When data doesn't add up from different sources, be those more or less reliable, trying to verify them should be the reasonable idea.
We've been getting our data from Oricon this whole time so we know it's more than likely not going to match with the data that Shueisha gave. It's not going to be comparable because we have no idea how Shueisha tracked those numbers and it's obvious that both Shueisha/Oricon track their numbers differently. What is there to verify?

The author of Invade You has already published 4 oneshots since Invade You ended? That's quite a lot, but hopefully that means their artwork has been improving since Invade You ended. What were the oneshots? Were they all with Shueisha?

One Piece fanboys are the best, uses data provided by Oricon for years to claim "Its the biggest manga in history! look at these sales by Oricon!", but when the manga is possibly being dethroned for the first time in 13 years, suddenly the narrative changes to "Oricon do many mistakes, but Shueisha don't do, don't underestimate OP!!!!"

Some are already using the article to make fun of Yaiba fans, i want to see Yonkou doing damage control if Oricon puts Yaiba in first kkkkk

Its definitely used to whatever fits their narrative.

Tbf a lot of people wanted to see OP fans lose their shit over the thought of Kimetsu beating them and now you have Shueisha/official OP twitter saying that OP is the #1 seller. Karma? I don't know. Both sides can get toxic tbh.

ah yes, I see this is never ending anytime soon... :derp

my most important criteria in trackers is that they are internally consistent,

oricon have err inn the past (notably with some series selling more in total compared to circulation numbers but not by much), but other than changing from fax to electronical and the dwindling number of stores, we have no idea if their methodology ever changes, but at least we can give them the benefit of a doubt and say that they apply their method to all series equally.
which while they won't be exactly right but they would be wrong on the same places equally, again with the advantage to series that are distributed proportionally more to stores they track.

On the other side we have shueisha, I would still say those numbers are circulation(even then... debatable) , since only then it can make any sense. They are the publishers, so I would assume they have their own internal system,

But i do ponder the possibility of not all editors knew what other series are currently doing at all times(which is a reasonable thing to happen), They could have asked Takano what the numbers were and he had given number he knew of instead what it is currently. and given how kny kept getting more and more reprints, it would have been harder for the no longer editor of the series to keep track of. note that is just speculation, and you can easily wiggle one of the numbers to fit in to their statement.

if the numbers are sales however, that would be much harder ot make sense of.

also, 3M last years 14M-16M (series) this year, but only 10.8M sales is really jarring, especially with consistent out of stock reports by shueisha themselves.

people don't have problems with OP (well some do, but I can sorta see how it can be believable,) the problem is KnY which make almost no sense in all directions

This is what will bite them in the ass, if Yaiba ends up with 12+ million on Oricon sales, because everybody will turn to Shueisha and ask "Where the hell you shoved these 2+ million of copies?" kkkkkk

Question, when exactly are serialization "booked" to debut in WSJ? I ask because I've seen that Sunday shows all the serializations it plans to debut that year at the start in poster form, which leaves me wondering if Jump is the same way or no.

It's a strange feeling known that we will already have a new series to read this week, i guess i got used to the last 5 new series mangas + Yozakura and Mitama going on for all this time without ending.

Well, practice makes perfect. Despite the abysmal sales of Invade You, it seems like he must've kept a good relationship with Jump if he's already been back 3 different times.

Based Mammo with galaxy brain memory.

New question:

Whats the best Jump manga this year? I am just talking about the chapters that were published this year for each Manga in Jump. So not an all time ranking.

For me:

1. Kimetsu no Yaiba
2. Act Age
3. Chainsaw Man
4. Jujutsu Kaisen
5. One Piece
My list is:

1. Act age
2. Chainsaw Man
3. Kimetsu no Yaiba
4. Jujutsu Kaisen
5. Hinomaru Zumou
6. Mitama Security

time to update your signature i guess
wonder if Oda and Horikoshi will say anything in their comments about Shibata

Oda did give Yoakemono and Mitsubuki Condor a shoutout in 2014
I don't remember if Hori said anything but I doubt it considering MHA started with Yoakemono and Condor in the same round

So any thoughts on the one shot Seiken no Yuusha no Goei this week? i think it's really cool, the art is great and i liked the whole "plot twist" with the girl being the one who is able to use the legendary sword but being lazy while the male mc is the hard working but not strong, the sequence with her defeating the monster was super cool. The setting with monsters on earth and a organization fighting them reminded me a bit of World Trigger.

This with the latest vampire one shot are two that i would like to see turning into series.

I also want that vampire oneshot to become a serialization. I think since Jojos there hasn't been a series about vampires in WSJ. (correct me if I'm wrong). Also vampires are my thing lol so I would support it with all my heart.

The "demons" in Kimetsu no Yaiba are literally vampires. >_>
