[mod=Halloween]Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.[/mod]

What is the ToC ranking?
ToC stands for Table of Contents. It's found on the last page of every issue of WSJ, but more importantly, the order the series appear in on the ToC is closely related to the popularity of the series. This is determined by polling the readers; there is a polling postcard in every issue of WSJ.

Each week, a certain person from 2ch writes out the ToC for the following week's WSJ issue. ToC series order is usually based on polling result of readers, thus you will know how your favorite series are doing based on the order.

Some exceptions, etc:
- For the 2nd-8th chapters, ToC is already decided, though it could change depending on readers' ranking.
- The ToC is affected by the popularity of 8 chapters ago.
The 2019 WSJ ToC thread is located here.

Should we do predictions for 2020?
Yes, that's fine. However, remember the new topicality rule. No specific plot discussion of WSJ series with more than three volumes released.

I'm guessing/hoping for an Act-Age anime announcement at some point during 2020. As for the magazine itself, I think WSJ is going to try serializing at least 2 romcoms during the year since We Never Learn is 99% likely to conclude this year, and Yuuna could end whenever it so chooses basically.

Okay, new years bets!

-Either Yozakura or Mitama survives. Leaning on Yozakura.
-We Never Learn, Promised Neverland and Kimetsu no Yaiba end, though not necessarily in that exact order.
-Anime announcements for Act-Age and Chainsaw Man.
-Jujutsu gets a big boost and becomes a fixture of the Top 10.
-Tsunehiro Date returns as at least the artist for a new romance manga.
-Either Yusuke Utsumi, Takamasa Moue, Gen Osuga or Ryoji Hirano returns.
-Should Mitama be axed, Shun Numa returns.
-Tadahiro Miura finally gets bored and ends Yuuna already.
-Zipman survives, maybe? Can't exactly say we don't even have a chapter out.

Some of my predictions (bets more like)
-JJK anime will be very good, should have a respectable boost in sales, will cement its position as a main manga of the magazine.
-Act-Age anime announcement mid-year, to air sometime on winter/spring, it will also become a main manga.
-One of these new year beginners will be stable on the magazine
-Chainsaw-man will get an anime announcement by the end of the year, sales will continue to grow rapidly throughout the year.
-Yozakura will survive for quite awhile yet
-Samurai 8 gets transferred to jump+
-Dr.Stone will announce its ending before the year's end.
-Hunter x Hunter will have another hiatus year (lol)
-Worries about the magazine portfolio should subside.
-Kimetsu will last (a bit) more than people believe.

- JJK has a surge of popularity and enters the top 10 yearly sales
- Both Yozakura and Mitama survive for the whole year.
- CSM keeps rising and gets an anime announcement on Jump Festa.
- WNL, HQ, TPN, KNY and Yuuna all come to an end.
- MHA has a slight boost from the movie and S4.
- AA either grows or stabilizes and gets an anime announcement sometime in 2020.
- A few 2020 rookies surviving.
- S8 and BC's sales either remain or drop.
- HXH probably won't come back.
- OP will remain the same.

Why do you think BC's sales will continue to drop? In fact why do so many people here that BC (hope I'm not breaking any rules by asking this)

Is that even likely? I dont receall jump having back to back shows that got anime all getting significant boosts to become a pillar.
technically not back to back as Dr. Stone aired between them (and Astra if you want to count Jump+) although I agree it becoming a pillar is pretty unlikely. I think it will get a boost but just kinda survive in the high middle of the pack until it eventually comes to a natural end.

Nothing in particular against the content of the manga itself, more like the notion that BC has reached its pinnacle potential already (as suggested by the steady decrease in sales on recent volumes)

I didn't say they will drop, just that's a possibility looking how the most recent volumes have fared. The anime's boost has long passed by too so its chances to grow are very unlikely.

If only I could just vote for Yozakura three times...
Funny enough, even though the poll is hidden to regular users, staff can still see it.

Once I reveal it on Sunday, I'll have some interesting observations to discuss.

Toc is gonna be quite rough this start of the year without 4 series in the ranking for a while, some mangas will look worse than what they're actually doing.

Let me guess, Chainsaw Man in first again despite the entire chapter being "kaboom" kkkkk

No, just in general, this poll is quite a bit different than the last, and once I reveal the results, I have some theories as to why.
