Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Samurai 8 is getting axed this week, I mean I'm seeing a lot of posts on Twitter saying S8 is axing this week
Why would jump even do that when they have two even bigger flops to axe in Beast children and TSS?

Aight so here's some predictions:
- Jujutsu Kaisen takes the place of Kimetsu as the second big hit after KNY ends. (maybe not as big tho lmao that would be crazy)
- Black Clover begins it's descent into late Bleach / SnS territory
- Yozakura and Mitama survive
- New serializations by Masaoki Shindo (Count Over) and Yuusei Matsui (AssClass, Neuro)
- HxH returns about halfway through the year
- Chainsawman and Act-age animes both announced
- Samurai 8 to some other magazine, Saikyo or + or smth

My predictions, from most likely to least likely:
-Jump will run different sport manga in anticipation to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics (And because they are lacking spokon manga right now, with Haikyuu seamingly entering its last arc.)
-Also Jump will run new romance manga, I think both We Never learn and Yuuna will end next year.
-Black Clover starts descending in ranks/sales.
-This is not Kimetsu no Yaiba´s last arc, I think maybe there´s a timeskip..:? Idk, I just think JUMP will do anything in their power to keep their best selling battle manga since BLEACH.
-Hunter x Hunter returns, hopefully for at least 2 volumes.
-Hikaru no go/Naruto one-shots to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

....Perro, Hikaru No Go's 20th was in 2018.

And Naruto's was over a month ago.

I forgot next year is the Olympics. Will jump do something for it? Like a celebration cover with its mcs wearing sports clothing?

To be honest i want HxH to return but Togashi is so slow and is dragging this current arc so much that it feels like is never going to end

Also, whats up with the "Black Clover will drop and etc"? as if the manga will just become the next Souma or Bleach? I don't even think the anime will end next year lol

My predictions:
-Jump will run different sport manga in anticipation to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics (And because they are lacking spokon manga right now, with Haikyuu seamingly entering its last arc.)
Haikyuu is already in the last arc, it was officially announced weeks ago.

Damnit, I missed the Oricon shitposting.

Anyway, predictions, predictions:
-Act Age gets an anime adaptation sometime in the middle of the year. It'll go the Chihayafuru route where nobody watches it, but the people who do will love it to death and shill it to the ends of the earth.
-Chainsaw Man gets an anime adaptation at the end of the year, ahead of 2021 Jump Festa. When it does air, it will be somewhat controversial, but since certain other anime will have aired, people will have gotten used to it.
-Jujutsu Kaisen finally finds some Western popularity and gets a boost in sales. It will overtake Black Clover in first month per volume sales before that.
-The Promised Neverland ends first, followed by We Never Learn, and then Kimetsu no Yaiba. Kimetsu will get second or third in this year’s Oricon, it’s placing entirely depending on what period of the year it ends. Neverland will not be in the Top 5. In an interesting twist and against my personal wishes, Sensei controversially wins the Yuigabowl over Fumino.
-Haikyuu’s sales begin to recover due to its 4th anime season.
-HeroAca receives a boost due to the movie and Season 4, which may allow it to briefly surpass 600k a month.
-Yozakura and Miitama will survive to make up for the lack of survivors in 2019.
-Yuuna goes the Gintama route in teasing an ending, except more frustrating because we get a lot more one-off chapters. Oh yeah, Yuuna’s probably not gonna end this year.
-One Piece will likely reclaim its throne and people will forever wonder if Kimetsu would have been able to wrestle from it again if it continued running. This will inevitably fuel to the constant dick measuring contest that is the Jump fanbases till the end of time.
-Black Clover continues a slow decline in sales yet increases in quality in a great comeback story that defies the shonen norm.
-Hunter x Hunter comes back for 10 chapters.

That should be every currently running Jump series. Honestly more curious about Jump Plus predictions.

Lurked without an account for a bit of 2019, seems like a good time to start posting.

Predictions:

Yozakura and Mitama both make it to at least 4 volumes.
Samurai 8 gets respectable, but not great sales growth.
Tokyo Grind Horror Channel serialization.
Short The Comiq style manga about some Olympic sport.
Act-age anime is inevitable.
Dr. Stone announces final arc at some point during the year but doesn't end this year.

I kinda doubt Iwashiro would return... It's possible, but unlikely.

Also, as somebody mentioned, it makes sense for Jump to run several sports series for the Olympics. Erica seems primed to be the headliner. It would also be great if it could get the Japanese to check out the Equestrian competitions. Silver Spoon, I think, got some interests raised, but I think a Jump manga could raise it even higher.

Considering Silver Spoon was a 1 million seller for a time, hard to imagine a manga raising it even higher, but it would be interesting to see Jump trying something.

I've given it some thought, and here are my predictions/hopes for 2020.

- both Mitama and Yozakura survive, hanging around the lower middle range like early Jujutsu Kaisen
- Chainsaw Man has an anime announced.
- Jujutsu Kaisen's sales jump due to the anime announcement/potentially anime airing, and Western reception improves due to that and the official release of earlier chapters of the series, previously unavailable legally.
- Act-Age has something live action announced first, with an anime potentially being announced at Jump Festa.
- Samurai 8 climbs high enough in sales that we stop hearing (or at least they stop being posted as often) the wailings of "Samurai 8 is getting axed next week, my uncle's cousin who works at Shueisha said so".
- Yuuna ends around the middle of the year, but thankfully pulls a To Love Ru and starts the Yuuna Darkness arc in Jump SQ within the next two years, receiving a considerable sales boost, back up above its prime in WSJ, when it does.
- The Black Clover anime will end once the current saga they're on is fully animated. The manga, however, will sadly not receive any sort of boost in sales or recognition despite only getting consistently better as it goes along.
- Agravity Boys will be axed after 3 volumes, but in an ironic twist, Zipman will receive a recommendation by Horikoshi and survive the year.
- Dr. Stone finishes the current arc, and its final arc is announced, which will run for another 1-2 years.
- My Hero Academia gets a small boost once season 4 really gets to the good parts, as well as the movie coming out.
- We Never Learn ends between February and March, with none of the girls winning the Yuigabowl.
- The current arc of The Promised Neverland is dragged out longer than we actually thought it would be, but still ends by April at the latest.
- One Piece's Wano arc enters it final act, but it still does not end this year.
- Haikyuu!'s sales will pick back up a bit with season 4 airing and hype around the "final" arc.
- Kimetsu no Yaiba doesn't drag its feet in ending, and takes the AssClass/Kuroko route, ending at the height of its popularity.
- One prolific veteran will return, and another "veteran" who has only had flops will return and make a hit for themselves.

This will not happen because the anime is already confirmed to keep going on until at least October of 2020, the anime will easily surpass the elf arc.
