Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Considering Silver Spoon was a 1 million seller for a time, hard to imagine a manga raising it even higher, but it would be interesting to see Jump trying something.
I know Silver Spoon was a million seller, but there's a niche sport that's in Sunday, (even then, the Equestrian aspect wasn't even a big part of the story) and there's a niche sport that's in JUMP. Besides Silver Spoon's main selling point is the comedy.

Also, here's my predictions:

*Stephen A. Smith Voice*

-One Piece slides down in sales from previous year, only nearly reaching #1 by a thin margin,
-Galaxy Gangs is not getting published.
-Komi comes back with a battle/adventure manga
-Tosh, same as above
-Erica gets serialized along with a badminton manga (maybe even have the duo based on Susi & Alan)
-Kimetsu maintains dominance once again.
-MHA will get another anime in October
-KImetsu vs One Piece discrepancy will blow up and Nakano gets fired.

I think Act-Age, and Chainsaw Man anime announcements are more so absolutes than predictions.
My predictions though are
- We’ll get a new successful Sports manga
- Samurai 8 moves to Jump+ as a Bi Weekly series
- Jump+ will have a couple more breakouts following SxF’s success this year
- Spy X Family anime announcement around this time next year
- Jump Force 2, or another Jump game period, is either teased, or announced
- Dragon Ball 2uper doesn’t happen, but we do get another Dragon Ball Film announced.
- A Remake/Reboot film/series is announced for a classic series. That, or some popular series that never got an anime gets an anime announced.
- Kimetsu No Yaiba live action film gets announced(Japanese Live Action. Not Hollywood)

This will not happen because the anime is already confirmed to keep going on until at least October of 2020, the anime will easily surpass the elf arc.
Ah. Hadn't been keeping up with the anime, so I wasn't sure. That's very unfortunate. They're going to overrun the manga's pacing and start pumping out filler for weeks at a time at that rate. Yikes.

Yeah you are probably right, I should make bolder bets, I personally think that MHA will plateau this year.

You're giving too much weight to the name "Jump", it doesn't matter if its Jump, Sunday, Magazine or any other if the manga isn't good or don't get people's attention, Beast Children was supposed to have all the attention for being serialized during Rugby World Cup and being on Jump but no one is buying on Japan.

When i say that they will easy surpass isn't in the sense of them being very close to the manga but in the sense that we will have more 40+ episodes (on 111 at the moment) so it will easily go further the arc.

My predictions:

-Jujutsu receive a big boost because of the anime and become a main pillar of the magazine, surpassing BnhA in Sales.
-Black Clover sales drop, becomes a 150k seller.
-Yozakura Mission survives.
-Chainsaw man get an anime announcement.
-Both Kimetsu and Neverland end.
-Dr.Stone enter in the final arc
-Fujimaki returns to the magazine with a shonen fantasy manga

My 2020 Predictions:
  • Act-Age and Chainsaw Man get anime announcements, don't air until 2021
  • No Spy x Family anime announcement until 2021 at the earliest, but it continues to sell gangbusters in the meantime
  • The Jujutsu Kaisen anime is high budget and does awesome, giving the manga boosts that are solid but not quite KnY level.
  • Jump+ will debut another breakaway hit that probably should have debuted in WSJ instead
  • Hunter x Hunter comes back for 10 chapters in the first half of the year
  • The Promised Neverland and We Never Learn end by Spring 2020 ; Dr. Stone and Kimetsu no Yaiba end in the second half of 2020
  • Samurai 8 survives through 2020, largely by default, as established series keep concluding and S8 fails to be outnumbered by new hits
  • One of Yozakura or Mitama survives, but not both
  • Zip-Man has a very strong, charming start but peters out. Agravity Boys debuts to mixed reception but gets really cool later. Neither survive past 2020
  • New sports series about either Baseball/Softball, Karate, Sport Climbing, Skateboarding, or Surfing launches in the lead-up to the Tokyo Summer Olympics
  • New series from Tomohiro Yagi (Red Sprite), Ryoji Hirano (Bozebeats), and Gen Osuga (Golem Hearts). At least two become modest successes at minimum
  • Enough high quality titles debut this year that some of us will start having a higher opinion of Nakano, but not enough that Mammo will.
  • At least one of my Top 5 Mangas of 2020 will be a 2020 WSJ debut.
I'm really pumped to see what 2020 is WSJ is going to be like! The year has a LOT of potential, and also a lot of unknowns. Looking forward to experiencing it with you all!

EDIT: Lmao and TOC hits while I'm typing this up. Fare thee well, Beast Children. You had a lot of cool style and charm, but couldn't quite stick the landing on the execution.

It is good to keep in mind that the ToC doesn't mean THAT much as long as a series sells well and what have you. Something HAS to be at the bottom, after all, it just doesn't necessarily mean it's a flop or has to be.

RIP Beast. You won't be missed.

Also, damn, this is the first time in over a year since MHA got a CP that wasn't tied to a cover.

BNHA getting a regular color page? long time but i'm pretty sure the manga will get the cover and lead cp on #3 because the movie will be out on theaters, maybe this is the reason why the manga is having 13 pages for consecutive weeks

Ah, another Jump+ special preview. I forget which others they've done that for.
WIth HeroAca getting a color page without a cover for the first time in over a year, it seems that they're beginning to ramp up promotion of the series for the movie.

Well, Jump has cancelled series with not so horrible sales that there were at the bottom.

However, the current situation is more complicated, because the magazine has some "empty spaces".
