Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I think the biggest take away from this is that AA almost sold as much as WNL, even though WNL had 1 1/2 anime seasons airing at that time.
Weird comparison. I thought the genre WNL is in just dont sell that much anyway. Also WNL has less multi- demographic appeal than act age does.

It is good to keep in mind that the ToC doesn't mean THAT much as long as a series sells well and what have you. Something HAS to be at the bottom, after all, it just doesn't necessarily mean it's a flop or has to be.
Extacly.. for example when Every manga sales are good. Ofc you have to put some series in the bottom even if it means they have good reception ect ect

Oricon lists Quintuplets as the 5th highest selling manga of the year so harems can sell fine

You think we'll get any clarification on Kimetsu taking the #1 spot from Shueisha? Or will they not acknowledge either one as top? That earlier article's numbers don't seem to be showing anywhere else and 2 million copies is way too much for Oricon to have overestimated OP and underestimated Kimetsu.

I feel like Kimetsu being the first series to surpass OP in yearly series total sales in 13 years is something Shueisha would want to acknowledge. It'd be nice to see something direct.
If kimetsu was an serie that is an long runner to replace one piece when it ends. Otherwise hell nah, OP = WSJ in shueisha

Very nice for Jigokuraku. My prediction is that it will actually beat SxF despite currently selling less than half of SxF in volume sales (post-anime).

fixed an error

SxF is 754067

Does world trigger still sell well?

Pierrot has no ways to give it a movie, their schedule is way to tight to even begin thinking of a movie and if you mean the battle against the devil is the big event well I highly doubt they will do justice to all of it (also it drags a lot). And we know how the reception was the last time BC got a big event in the anime.
Nah, although I have mo clue why the sales dropped during the amazing elf reincarnation arc the anime will probably boost it back up when it gets to the devil portion of the arc. And afterwards too with the timeskip. BC's fine. Jujustu will surpass it tho

Because the anime's boost happened too long ago (more precisely two years ago when the anime debuted) and a boost happening more than once for a single series is very uncommon, even if a big event happens. The most that happens is stabilizing sales. Also, I wouldn't be sure about the current arc given that BC has been ranking lower than usual for a few weeks now.

Yeah I noticed that too. Which is very odd to me. Japanese people don't make any sense. Bad taste 😤 But I don't think that matters at all. Cause MHA for example spent ages middle ranking this year and it's fine.

Considering the fact that it's a monthly series now yet competing with the mid-tier weekly series, I'd say it's doing pretty well.
That's awesome. The fanbase is still strong

Side note: Now that Chapter 11 is out, I managed to read Dosanko Gyaru. I think it's pretty charming - I really liked Chapter 0 in particular, which I feel was a good introduction to the main leads as they become friends. I kind of wish Chapter 1 didn't sort of reset things a bit by having the MC talking about how he prefers "the tidy, black-haired serious kind of girl" all the time in the beginning, but I still like them nonetheless. Speaking of that description, gamer girl is also pretty cute, and I do hope I can see more of the three as friends before the inevitable love triangle starts.

Oh, the art's pretty dang good as well.

Zipman hasn't really intrigued me yet, but man the color pages and artwork are appealing. I'm curious about it.

Am I the only one getting Medaka vibes with the characters design?
