Indeed. So (going by what we know so far) the story is about three selfish guys who use the fate of humanity as an excuse to coerce their smallest member into transitioning against his will so they can have sex with him.

And that's why the premise makes people uncomfortable.

Not looking too great for Samurai 8, as I figured. It's genuinely at risk of cancellation if it doesn't start doing better, remember RxL got cancelled with better sales than Samurai 8.

Also can we please wait until ch 1 Agravity Boys is actually out before deciding it's offensive? We literally know nothing about it besides one sentence from viz.

Also could we possibly do a predictions poll for Samurai 8? I'm curious how everyone thinks it'll do now that the bottom buffer is all gone and it'll be in dead last.

My prediction on Samurai 8 is the same as the day we first saw sales numbers; it's guaranteed the original 100 or so chapters Kishimoto was quoted on saying. What we really need is to wait and see how volume 3 sells, to see if there has been any growth.

The premise of Agravity Boys sounds like a trainwreck from the start. You can't rebuilt humanity with 3 men and 1 woman, except if you want some kind of incest mutant "The Hills Have Eyes" type of freaks.

I mean. Does it specifically state that the 4 main character’s are the last survivors of the human race? Cause I can see it going plenty of different ways?

For one thing, there’s no way this full serialization only plans on the series having 4 characters. So there has to be other characters in the story. Human or not

That's usually the problem in all "Adam and Eve" concepts.

The only way to avoid the incest aspect is to have two couples (at least). Although even that will still fall in cousin incest aspect at some point in the future.


That said, they will probably work the story in other way, since I really doubt they want a real harem at the end.

No it wouldn't. In Dr.Stone for example all the couples had multiple kids so them making offspring without insest is possible

Even the author realized it was a tough sell.

The biggest irony of this that Pretty Face was recieved well at the beginning, which led to Jump giving it a 2nd cover early on. But the gender concept got old fast, and I assume that will happen with Agravity.

I was speaking in the case of only two couples to preserve humanity. That will fall in cousin incest at some point.

If there are more couples, offspring without incest is possible.

Okay, I didn’t know the entire RomCom festival was scanlated, so I read it. The Duo That Lacks Experience was one of the better ones, honestly, I wouldn’t mind a serialization of that one.

I just saw the korean version of the Agravity Boys oneshot and none of them turned into a girl. 3 of them wanted the small, feminine looking guy to turn into a girl, but he didn't want to and that's how the oneshot finished.
Maybe the serialized version will be like this and nobody turns into the girl until the final chapter.
