Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Yozakura being below Samurai 8 is quickly causing me to lose what little faith I had left in the opinions of the Japanese readers.

....Didn't we just go through an entire process of explaining why readers are rejecting Yozakura?

Also, stop blaming JP readers. Seriously.

Why not? if he doesn't agree with Japanese readers, he can blame them all he wants

"The bottom".

Not really? It's still above Yuuna, which has been for months now the cut-off line failures and successes.
Yes really? it's bottom 4, doesn't really matter if its above Yuuna if still in the bottom of the ToC

Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #6-7:

Strong lead-ins for the magazine this issue. Kimetsu should act as a great lead-in for AA, but since they're quite different in the type of action they have people might end up skipping it and coming back for BC. The Zipman-MHA block could work well. Agravity boys might benefit from reader carryover in that block.
TBH Stone and Mitama should be next to each other considering their comedic similarities, or at least have it higher as a lead in for WNL. CSM and JJK should also next next to one another as a block due to their more mature elements. By the time any viewers get to the Yuuna pages viewership should have dropped off significantly, which is fine for more niche series but not so good for newer series like Yozakura. The stone miniseries at the end really should have been placed next to stone, feel like viewership wouldn't have been as low as it ended up being, though it doesn't contain that much new content so I could see why the Jump staff did that.
Next issue's top series will definitely benefit from a strong OP lead in, and we will probably see higher viewership next issue than the ones that came for this issue.

Goodnight Yozakura. Should've went with the Toteku serialization but you clearly don't have the talent to pull it off. I hope his assistants find a nice landing spot so they can provide for themselves. Only a matter of weeks until the axe comes.

In a magazine where it is known that it's basically one big survey popularity poll, and everyone is always going to pick the 3+ year old series, causing newer series regardless of quality to die, yes, I absolutely will blame Japanese readers.

Worth noting, the new one-shot is by Fujimaki.

Love me some warm Deku, Denji, Tanjirou, Itadori and Yonagi. AA being heigh is quality content. BC's rankings are fluctuating so much, it's giving me whiplash. Yozakura is probably done for unless sales save it. Curious to see Zipman's first rank next month. An issue with both CSM and JJK CPs is a treat.

2020:
Luffy - Hinata - Tanjiro - Deku (4-5)

This cover's pretty good! I like it when all of the characters seem to interact with each other in the cover, and there's elements of that here!

As for the TOC, Miitama being above both Yuuna and Samurai 8 does seem promising to me. Sure, it's still near the bottom of the magazine, but considering that Yozakura is at the very bottom, below Yuuna and Samur8, combined with the improved reception does make me think that Jump may have found it's new pure comedy manga. February 4th is a ways away, huh...

And with the end of the Dr. Stone spinoff, we are down to 17 manga running in the magazine. If there isn't a new batch in Issue 8, then I'll begin to wonder what's going on, especially since it'll have been about a month from now.

I hope it is Mappa and JJK looks great. Mappa is great with tone for darker series (Banana fish, Garo Vanishing Line, Dororo, Inuyashiki.) Perfect fit in that regard. Hopefully the staff is great and supposedly from some sources it is

Ehhh you're seriously saying he should go with that one shot that wouldn't work at all on Jump instead of Yozakura that had plenty of good rankings and a color page?
--- Double Post Merged, ---

So there will be no issue in the Christmas week?
Official but the scans and toc will probably get leaked on last December week like in every year

Not at all a fan of his one-shot or either of his serilizations, however that one-shot won the Golden Future Cup so some number of Jump readers much have thought it would work in Jump.

Well, isn't this the same for every GFC winner?

people would rather cheer for the cancellation of the manga than see him survive, it happened a lot this year.

Yes, so why are you trying to argue that a manga that won a competition voted on by Jump readers wouldn't work in Jump?
Sure, GFC winners don't have the best track records when serialized, but it still seems like a weird thing to say.

Because it's not hard to predict if certain series would be hard or easy to pull it off as a serialization, the fact that the guy didn't go for that concept when he is in the second serialization, should tell enough that he and his editor weren't able to find a way.

I find it amusing that we now have successful runner-ups from the GFC (Tabata, Goutoge, Akutami) than we do successful winners (Tamura, Shiibashi).
