If you’re only judging by facts, can we start using them please? Fact, August knows more about magic than you or Ajeel. So i’ll take his statement over yours. The Magic King blocked the attack, and stated it would kill Ajeel. You’re only rebuttal is that Ajeel, a guy who thought he could take Ishgar alone. Who couldn’t even put down a handicapped Erza, and got his ass whooped by Elfman. He. Lost. To. Elfman. Literally everything stated by Ajeel is useless hype. His performance is that he cannot even beat the weakest members of team Tenrou. He lost to Erza even having the perfect hax for her.I am judging by the facts I'm given now in the 100 Years Quest. August's opinion is irrelevant to me since I have Mashima's opinion with me now. One of the objectives of the 100 year quest was to make the power scaling of the show clear. If performance contradicts with opinion , then performance should be given first preference. Till now , it was okay. But not now.
It shouldn't matter if Erza is handicapped or not. It shouldn't. If you can go toe to toe with and take serious hits from a very famous and top boxer , then a 7 year old's attacks shouldn't affect you even if your hands and legs are tied up and he's allowed to hit you. If they do which means the boxer doesn't deserve his qualifications because you're being scaled to him. Then it matters jack shit if he's been acclaimed by very famous critics or not ( August in this case ) , praises from critics can't hide your performance.
The base punch on Ajeel might be weaker than the one with Neinhart but we still know Natsu can't kill Ajeel with his FDK Demolition Fist via scaling to Jacob. Jacob was only knocked out by it , he wasn't killed. Okay , let's ignore the fight and look at it this way. Erza has to stand in one place and let Ajeel hit her. And she has to endure his attacks. Basically it's a durability test for Erza. This is exactly what happened in their battle. It was a durability test. And she passed , but just barely. What does that mean ? It means that the showing we saw there was her cap in durability at that point of time.
I don't care whether Ajeel can defeat someone or not. Even I know Ajeel hadshe improved to the extent of getting damaged by Base Natsu tier punches to tanking attacks 10 times stronger than Natsu's FDK Demolition Fist ? I mean , shit , were Natsu and Laxus sitting at home shitting eggs all this time that Erza surpassed them by such an extent ? They're so dumb and slow at learning ? I don't buy it tbf.
This entire paragraph makes no sense bro. Erza bested Ajeel. She then went on to beat Irene. Laxus almost killed him, with the most impressive AOE attack of the arc, and then one shot Wahl. Then they both went on to have decent showings against Acnologia. Ajeel is a footnote in their battle records, at best. An you have based an entire counter argument on a boastful characters unsubstantiated claim.
The base punch of Ajeel is certainly weaker than what took out Neinhart. He has nothing to suggest that he is anywhere near FDK Natsu. An scaling to Jacob isn’t helpful here. We already know that Natsu wasn’t trying to kill him. That’s not his mo anyways. You can’t seriously believe Natsu can blast Zeref to pieces and couldn’t have killed Jacob if that was his goal. I mean END didn’t even kill Dimaria.
We are debating the outcomes of these fights in an attempt to scale and rank the wizards. Why would I ignore the fights? He had Erza unable to requip, and couldn’t put her down. He used his top spell, and couldn’t put her down. Erza was the superior mage. He didn’t even do enough damage to keep her out of the war. He literally accomplished nothing bro.
Well, since you never showed why I should compare Ajeel to what Natsu’s output is. I’m not sure the point of this last paragraph. As to the whole Erza vs Laxus situation. Erza has certainly improved. She closed the previous gap between her and Laxus. One that was showcased during his performance against Hades, and made crystal clear during his battle with Jura. Erza was able to equip the right weapons and push him to his limits. It’s not even that unbelievable. Erza was always closer to him than Natsu. An her battle with Irene was clearly supposed to be the battle that put her on the map. A big deal was made showing how Irene was comparable to August. An FT’s strongest Man and Woman fought them. It was the first time we got Erza put on that Gildarts tier. Like Hades earlier comment about Laxus caliber, and Makarov mentioning Gildarts was the best opponent for Jura. This recent fight just cemented it.

which means they think Gajeel is one of the top tiers

I mean, according to our peers, Natsu’s admission to being basically out of magic means it was a tie right?
