Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I have to wonder if Yuuna would be doing better in our polls if M+ covered it.

To the people who read it, would you say it deserves the constant bottom placements?
Not really. On one hand, the popularity of the series on this forum does play a bit of role, since not everyone reads everything in Jump. Yuuna's an ecchi harem series so that in itself will drive away a few people before they even pick it up. On the other hand, and this is more personal, I think Yunna's just okay. It's got a decent cast of characters but it runs into the To Love Ru problem of nothing fucking happening most of the time. I know many who read it enjoy the wacky ecchi hijinks, and I do as well, but I would've preferred a better balance of that and either more character development or actual romantic progression or some sort of plot advancement.

btw, is two weeks without chapter the normal thing? I don't remember we getting so much time without chapters. lol Since last week we hadn't and we won't get in this week either.
Yeah you have two weeks without chapter like 4 times a year (official release)
Golden Week, Obon, New Year and maybe Christmas week?

1. Scans still out even if translations are worse than Google TL
2. People reading on aggregators that use those scans
3. There's also Viz. Not everybody will migrate to M+
And the reason why this affects One Piece more than other series is that, precisely because it's so big, it gets more translations sooner, the spoilers come earlier, etc.

Wait is there a difference between Viz and Mangaplus?

I don't think it deserves the bottom placement. Not saying that every chapter deserves to be in the top 5 or anything, but it usually does what it does well. It made my top 5 last week, but it was on the lower end of that spectrum. I'd say a mid-tier ranking would probably be closer to what we would ordinarily expect if it would've been on Mangaplus

It's a cool and decent series but that's a bit of the problem, it lacks something more at the moment but this is my opinion, i see many people praising it a lot.
well it is only 5 chapters right. Hopefully it gets better as things progress

I mean, we should be getting them, but for some reason, MANGA Plus will be completely inactive on Sunday 5th. This means not a single thing will get published, everything from Sunday will be out on Monday.

In actual Jump ToC or the one here? Or both? Yes. Both. It doesn't bring anything new. It's constant ecchi-SoL. There's nothing more to the series than just ending it whenever Miura feels like it.
I guess it's new year break

If Viz is in your area you can pay 2$ to access everything from their digital vault (well not everything everything but there are like 10,000 chapters you can read), on Mangaplus it's just the first 3 last 3 chapter for on-going series

That's gonna be one busy Monday, with 46 chapters coming out.

(Edit)
Make that 47 if they post two Naruto's.

Maybe it would have, nothing's conclusive though.

As for the bottom placements, I personally don't think it deservres it, but I can see why. Unless if it's a chapter about the development of a haremite, it's not really the kind of series to generate any real, serious discussion. Also, considering the fact that the translated chapters come out later would probably turn away most people, leaving only the people who actually want to read it, which is a small cult compared to the audience for the other series (this situation only applies to international countries, this situation may be completely different in Japan, seeing as they get all the series equally).

I enjoy the series not only because of it's uhh...content, and characters (Yuuna is my waifu after all); But also because it represents the variety of manga that Shonen Jump can publish. Jump is mostly known for their battle Shonen sure, but we can go from Hunter x Hunter questioning the ethics of human destruction, to Yuuna's MC turning into body soap and having the girls shower with said soap. Given my non discriminatory taste in manga, I love such range in content.

That's personally the biggest benefit of Manga+ to me, normally we'd never get gag manga translated (officially or by fans). Guaranteed if there was no viz/manga+ we wouldn't have a complete David, or Japan, or Double Taisei, or Mitama.
Well, excuse me, David did got a fan Edited Manga (although they stopped after mangaplus became a thing, but they did finish the volume bonuses).

Also, I hope the upcoming mangaplus/viz delay is just a one time thing due to new year eve, not permanent. If it is permanent, this will turn off people who used to speedscan so much, I expect them to boycott the official scans. Not me though, I even wait for /a/ scan of KnY even when they are 2 or 3 days late, but when /a/ scan could potential be released ahead of the official, something really goes wrong.

Food War chapter 294 was released Jan 6th, 2019
Same thing with Dr Stone chapter 89, Kimetsu 141, TPN 118 + other WSJ series.

So literally the exact same thing this year.

oh the next chapter would be on the 20th if it's the exact same thing, then the on the 27th it's the normal schedule

Manga+/viz usually put the chapters out early if the magazine's early in Japan though, I'm not sure why this time's apparently different.

Regarding Yuuna I doubt it would do much better if it was on Manga+. I read and personally I think it's a fun series, but it never makes me think "this chapter was one of the best in the magazine this week". It's fun enough to keep reading but that's all, never really anything special since it's mostly just doing silly ecchi gag stuff with nothing new really. Except those two Chisaki chapters from a few months back, those were incredible (people who've read it know which ones).

probably issues with holidays. As they pointed out last year was delayed for these double issues (although M+ didn't exist yet)
