hell, technically speaking every DS took multiple hits from Acno so they should be undisputed #1

If we do that then we come to conclusions like Neinhart's multicontinental level beam which oneshotted Jellal and Jacob's multicontinental punch.

He just doesn't want to take unnecessary damage, even fodder tier damage. It's perfectly in character for August to act that way.

Honestly I don't think there's a huge difference between Gildarts and Laxus at this point.

Nah the series was dumb af for making Acno dodge Jellal's magic/bullets and August dodging Cana's cards. They both severely outclass the things they dodged. But what makes it even stupider is that August can produce a barrier capable of blocking Laxus' nuke and Acno is straight up immune to magic and regular weaponry like swords or bullets have no effect either. They had zero need nor reason to dodge those attacks

Broadly I agree.

But IMO, only August is immune to magic. Acnologia isn't. He just can eat them and has resistance to magic to an extent. It's similar to how Natsu can be damaged by flames, even though he can eat and is resistant to it. Acnologia dodging it may also just be instinct

It's in character for August to dodge even fodder tier spells....... I'm probably stretching it lol but I find what he did to be in character, it's just instinct probably.

Like for eg, Natsu deflected Levi's fodder rocket while he could've just tanked or melted it with his body heat. Not an ideal example, but I think it illustrates instinct.
