Y'all hate on my boy Jacob all y'all want, but he's the only one that forced Natsu to use Fire Dragon King's Mode. Natsu hasn't even thought to use that mode yet for anyone that isn't god tier

My man was never oneshotted by two basic Natsu punches while enhanced unlike Fodderheart. That also means a basic punch from Natsu = a charged GC lmfao. He also never got oneshotted by the weakest S12 in existence and never was hurt by no one as trash as OS in stats.

Jacob is Neinhart level trash in durability. Neinhart actually has better attack power.

Don't matter if Jellal has bad durability tbh. He has legit attack power, unparalleled speed, and shields that can block Acnologia's attacks. And let's be honest, even his durability isn't that much worse than Mirajane's endurance.

Noooooo not good. He endured an FDK Demolition fist. Most would've been dead by that attack. He needs to be higher.


Listen guys. I say , those of you who agree Jacob should be placed higher all give him 10 points in the next competition and ensure him a place in the top 5. Partly for compensation because he was placed so low and p̶a̶r̶t̶l̶y̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶p̶i̶s̶s̶ ̶o̶f̶f̶ ̶A̶x̶i̶o̶m̶u̶s̶̶.

The only rankings in which Jacob deserves top 10 is hax. If Jacob scores top 10 in attack power or speed, Imma rage. Dude couldn't punch his way out of a paper bag, and Mirajane literally tracked him by looking at his footprints. I think I can list 30 characters with better attack power than Jacob.

Jellal speed = Acno speed = Christina speed = 100m/s
Jellal shield = Acno attacks < RoT Acno attacks = Rogue/Wendy durability < Historia Bloodman/Bluenote attacks.



But yeah.

And let's be honest, even his durability isn't that much worse than Mirajane's endurance.

Setting aside the fact that modes don't really matter, what god tiers? I don't see Natsu using FDK mode on any god tiers.

He never got to go lol. He was in FoE maximum mode which is his strongest mode with zero external amps against Acno and Zeref. Against Merc he didn't get the chance to bust it out bcs Ignia gave him FDG mode.

I wanna start contesting people's posts here but I'm not sure if it's just joking around or actual arguments hidden behind smug remarks so they don't get called out, lol.

Serena is pretty underrated IMO, nobody is putting him on a pedestal.
I made a post about it in this thread.

Agreed about the rest. Except Kiria. Laxus no diff'd her, she doesn't deserve to be here

I don't really see what people see in Serena tbh. It was pretty cool seeing him beat the Ishgal Gods, but there's not really a lot to go with in that one battle, because at this point, those characters are just a bunch of fodders. He didn't really do anything spectacular, and I feel like people are just holding on to his 'hype' that he was Gildarts' level.

In which case, it's still mostly irrelevant to this topic. This isn't a power-scaling thread (though it should technically be). This is a thread ranking them based on their actual durability showings, which Serena doesn't have a lot of.

Best in CQC characters is something I'd like to take part in.

Might be a good idea to just leave this thread for now though, just to see what people have against the results. Could produce quality activity, I think.

It would also be a shout to maybe get people who vote to at least make an argument (maybe give a limit to how many words or something so they don't end up ranting, lol) as to why they voted for the characters they voted for and those reasons to be published when the thread is finished. Another thing, maybe list like the top 20 contenders or something and just have people vote their top 10-15? This way, people won't sway to characters who shouldn't even part of the discussion. (in this particular thread, people who considered Bacchus and even Lucy all things considered)

Otherwise, it just becomes a popularity contest.

I know, but his feats show that his hype was valid. Gild used a named move to beat him. Unlike Gild, God Serena didn't have his true stats yet he was still able to damage Gildarts who had his full power. That is a testament of his power bcs even if Gild was holding back his power, his stats are literally the same as he had his full MP.

God Serena being able to clash off with and hurt Gild despite his stats being at a fraction his actual power is a pretty amazing feat.

I am not in the discussion but I don't agree with this view of yours.

What do you mean you should not consider hype ? You realise Gildarts is the strongest mage in FT only on the basis of his hype right ? His only feat is getting low diffed/made of a joke by August which is used to portray how powerful August is that he made Gildarts look like a joke. It's by hype that Gildarts is considered the strongest mage of FT. Strictly feat wise even Base Natsu >>>>>> Gildarts.

Hype is shouldn't always be considered correct, but that's when feats contradict it. Like for example when Makarov said even strongest of FT members will find it difficult to beat a Spriggan. That's when hype is discarded since feats contradict it. However God Serena has no such anti feats and he got oneshotted by Acnologia . Plus his historia has at least feats of clashing with Gildarts and trading blows with him , and it required Gildarts a named spell and serious attack to oneshot him. Impressive I'd say , for a historia.

I was literally thinking of Gild when I was thinking of August. Then I was like where do I put Laxus at and I forgot from there. I was legit trying to think of people who had high durability but weren't Dragons or immortals lol. Totally just blanked Gild out of my mind. Guess him being out of the guild 90% of the time makes me just not really think about him
