Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I'm going to regret this, but why exactly do you think the success of JJK has BC so damned?
Sales of black clover have been declining regardless of JJK's success afaik. Can't really say if the trend is continuining from those shoseki rankings though since JJk surpassing it was more or less inevitable.

That's a very bold and I'd imagine unpopular opinion pretty much anywhere(
Nah, many think so, only on fandom for obvious reasons do they still defend him with a drawn sword

Most series tend to decline pretty considerably. Food Wars ran for several years after it should have ended, story and sales drop wise. I was just wondering why people suddenly think Black Clover is getting axed in the next six months, despite evidence to the contrary based on what I previously mentioned, and the anime's huge success(not to mention Black Clover, despite its decline, is still a well-selling manga series).

It won't happen in the next six months of course, but for sure the 15 years so much advertised by the fandom doesn't even see them.

Another two or three years of publication will certainly do it.

This is my last comment on the matter, but I've not seen anyone saying 15 years. That's honestly stupid if they are. I love the series myself, but newer manga just don't run for 20 years anymore.

I don't think anyone who isn't trolling actually believes that. It still pulls ok/good numbers for a battle shonen and jump's newcomers since CSM don't look very strong anyways, atleast commercially. Also a lot of their series are ending soon which will leave space.

I'd say it has a few years left in the tank still, but it's hard to tell how strong jump's lineup will be then.

It's really quite pointless to debate this kind of thing because it's practically impossible to truly "predict" the future in any reasonable way. Like, going into 2019, who would've expected that Kishimoto's much hyped and anticipated return would crash quite badly, that a middle-card battle manga like Kimetsu would suddenly become as popular as One Piece due to its anime, or that the biggest new series of the year would be a return from the author of Fire Punch in WSJ, and a Jump SQ author virtually no one knew about? Predicting Jump's long-term future is silly because there's no way one can anticipate the many variables that will come into play. All we can do is guess the immediate future based on the unestablished series running in the magazine, and which of the established roster seem close to ending. That's it.

You probably didn't visit reddit so much.....
Your mistake was thinking reddit is a reliable grading of anything.

No, and I have no reason to in regards to this topicality. People here at least somewhat usually know what they're talking about and try not to speak when they don't. Comments are actually worth reading here. They very much aren't on most any Reddit post on most any subject.

I doubt Shueisha would let Tabata create a brand new studio for BC specifically if they intended on the series ending within the next few years.

That, plus the recent plot developments indicate to me that they've likely let him establish the series as a long runner. One Piece/Naruto/Bleach level of length? Probably not, but I wouldn't be surprised if the series reaches ten years overall.

Ah, that's right. I had forgotten about the dedicated studio. Being reminded of that makes me happy.

Plans are always subject to change though.

The way it is currently doing 5 more years seems like a lot, but then again manga sales aren't everything and the anime is quite successful. I have no idea of how the merch is doing though.

If sales continue to fall, I doubt that the study will be of any use.

Then ten years? Seriously ? Even manga like Reborn, Toriko, Dai didn't catch up with them, and they all sold much more.

I would say that already 8 years would be too many.

Food Wars ended quite soon after the big sales drop.

That studio can be used for other project.
Tabata isn't the only manga artist with their own studio.

It's not his studio, though. It's specifically a Black Clover studio.

It can very easily be rebranded as another studio for another project. It's not hard to do.

Food Wars ended quite soon after the big sales drop.
I literally cannot for the life of me figure out how to insert this sales chart(I'm sure someone has it who does), but Food Wars actually started dropping at volume 14 VoV, kind of odd considering its overall length, and by the late 20s, early 30s, it was selling barely over half its peak of 450k. So yeah, it had dropped pretty considerably years before ending.
