Isn't that amazing with only 5 volumes

Depending on what you compare it with. I'd say it's decent for the series and knowing the appeal it has, which is not your usual Weekly Shonen Jump reader, but that's about it. If we come to include everything to compare, what is amazing is SPY x FAMILY. However is not a bad number, hell, in fact, it could get to 2 million soon if it keeps growing and maybe even earlier than Dr. STONE did.

I've tried reading Gintama, I just couldn't get into it. Having said that, I'm not sure why you're measuring those series qualitatively like that.

My question wasn't in reference to that. In fact, I discourage those kinds of posts.

Saying a series is your favorite is fine, but when you say X series is better than Y series, that's just leading to potential fighting between fanbases.

I said it in good humor. In any case the idea is that you shouldn't conflate them into the same type of story.

Watch it. The anime is better anyway.

Also just in case I can help one of you, I dropped Gintama four times over the course of years never getting past chapter 50 before it became my number one manga of all time.

It's on Hulu, so I suppose I can eventually get around to watching it. My backlog is pretty big, though. Also, I'm guessing the movie listed is the live action one? Is it worth watching?

It is except for the last part of the final arc which the movie next year with adapt. But that last part is like 10 chapters from what I remeber. So let's say you do watch it then finishing it through the manga wont be a problem.

Just a word of advise for whenever watch it, start at episode 3. The first 2 episodes are filler Also there are actually some filler episodes that you can skip, though there aren't many so it's up to you to watch them or not. Also the Gintama: Slip arc season is canon but the content in it is completely skippable. I wouldn't recommend it but that's just my opinion however it's good to skip you want to save time.

Sorry if I'm annoying. Huge gintama fan so I always wanna try and help people get into it

In festa we got confirmation of 1 million in circulation and since the word was "circulation" iirc then volume 5 couldn't possibly be accounted for.
<150k is too low a number for a new volume printing is it not? chainsaw man is selling 100k + per volume if the previous volumes are anything to go by

It was disclosed during the mangaka interview, which would be a very odd thing to announce if it was false information.

Pretty good start for HQ, will be interesting to see how this volume does in the next few weeks with S4 airing tomorrow

CSM is doing better than before it seems, in two days it sold as much as volume 4. MHA ended up 30k behind volume 24 but is only 10k behind volume 23, it probably has hit its plateau. JJK selling almost 100k in two days is super nice and the difference between JJK and BC was bigger than I expected. HQ 41 did miles better than 41, it sold 40k more and with a day less, now we have to see how it does on the long run. This should be another OP volume that struggles a bit to get to 2 million, with volume 94 only crossing 2 million next week (more than 3 months after its release).
