Irene's a fucking psycho who abandonned her own child, wanted to drop a fucking meteor and kill everyone at once. If that's your type of girl then i don't know what to say.
There's nothing really likeable about her behaviour or personality, you can PITY her at best but that's it..

Just joking. Irene has the presence of a Queen. Look at her making the King of Dragons excited.

And he is in awe of her mighty power.

Who said being a little psycho was a bad thing? Her tendencies are more sadistic than psychotic as well.

Her backstory of pain and suffering makes her come off as a sympathetic character. She becomes more relatable because of it.

I mean damn that was brutal. Her psychotic break is understandable because she literally went through three years of this brutality while trying to protect her daughter. No one could suffer this amount of pain for that amount of time and come out fine on the other side. If you could then you'll still have to live as an isolated Dragon for 400 years which would have even a bigger impact on your psyche. She was isolated from society while still carrying her baby for 400 years.

She then gets a slither of hope only to find out she still was a Dragon through and through.

So she sets her eyes on using her daughter because her mental health had declined extremely from the traumatic experiences she had gone through. But even tho she could have, she stopped herself and let her baby free in a village bcs she didn't trust that herself with Erza. To let go of your child that you protected for 400 years bcs you know you could potentially harm her makes her choice kind of heroic as not many would have been able to do the same.

She'd rather kill herself than kill her own daughter.

So she wasn't even that bad of a mother given her circumstances. She just was not capable of being a mother bcs she wasn't mentally stable enough to be one. She saw this and let her daughter go so she could live her life. If Irene wasn't destroyed in both mind and soul then she would have been a terrific mother as shown that even when she mentally broken that her daughters life was still more precious than her own.

DS who become Dragons also become mentally unstable. As shown in both Acno and Irene (we all know Elefseria is shady af as well so you can add him to the list too lol). Humans aren't suited to hold the power of a Dragon and it was proven to effect their minds as well.

1st Gen DS magic was too experimental and that caused a break in some DS due to the overflow of power. Now if you were turned into a Dragon then the effects of DS on your mind would be worse. This is why the Dragons prevented this with the antibodies. Humans were not capable of housing the full power of a Dragon. So with all the things she went through coupled with the effects DS magic has on her mind then it was impressive that she wasn't more psychotic than what she showed lol.

Her Dragon form is also one the sickest looking Dragons within the verse. It's just spectacular.

So don't go be disrespecting a top tier waifu like @Belserion. She is a multidimensional character and was the best thing to come out of Alvarez. She deserves to be in at least the top 10 waifus of FT.

That meteor wasn't selective like Fairy Law is though, it would have killed even the soldiers in her side. That would have killed everybody, friend or foe. That's just crazy.

Yeah, but it could be said for a lot of villains. Hades was gonna pull the same stunt when provoked by Makarov and August was going to as well lol. Plus they hit her biggest nerve as she was so close to obtaining what she wanted most. It'll take a lot for her to reach that breaking point.

A lot of people lose it at one point or another. I ain't just going to fault her over a one time thing . Plus it was kind of plot related bcs she didn't want to kill Erza in the first place.
