A true patriot would join FT in killing Zeref and then help them in killing Acnologia with FH. Even a mindless sycophant like August was considering hearing FT out before Mest fucked him over.

The rest of the S12 are all either brainless followers like August and Invel, legitimately evil like Eileen and Bloodman, or selfish c*nts like Dimaria and Neinhart who don't give a crap either way. Both Invel and Brandish were seen with Zeref in Dragon Cry, looking towards Acnologia from afar. Brandish clearly knew as well. She also said it in the main series as well, IIRC. Serena joined Zeref because Zeref was going after Acnologia. Eileen and Larcade knew of the plan as well, as did Jacob. I'm pretty sure that the rest of them knew as well, even though it wasn't explicitly shown in the series.

Invel, like August, knew the end game as well.
Why is Eileen or Bradman evil? Eileen was loyal to Zeref because he turned her natural form back to human (though not totally). Bradman was loyal to Zeref because he was summoned by Zeref.
Dimaria and Neinhart were loyal to Alverez, that's it. Dimaria was extremely angered by Brandish's betrayal showing her loyalty to the empire

Brandish didn't flip because of some love towards humanity or some shit. It was because of Aquarius or some shit, and because her beef with Lucy was over.
She betrayed her homeland that raised her as an orphan and gave her magic/status because of some retarded stuff with her 'misunderstanding' (I've no idea how she came to the conclusion that Layla killed her mother to take back her own damned key), not because she was some 'patriot' to humanity. She didn't give a fuck about any of that.

Lot of what you just posted makes sense, I see.

Just a few disagreements there:
- Most Spriggans don't seem to be too fond of Zeref's aim to destroy humanity, their aim is to somehow kill Acno because the guy is unstoppable. I suppose Bradman would enjoy it, but that's about it
- Brandish turned mainly because of Lucy's mother, she knew of all this before the war even started
- Dimaria was scolding Brandish of betraying the empire, "you're of no use to us like this" etc.
