Having dead characters might not change this all that much. Really the only big game changers I can think of is Irene and August. Irene was technically restricted last competition because she was a dragon. That really only leaves August. I dunno, maybe Wall can steal the top 10s if we really hype etherion.
Zeref would still count, no? Arguably, Wraith as well. Serena would probably make it to the top ten, god knows why.

Yeah, he became a chunky boi. 🤣

He was so hungry after he came back from U1 despite Dragon's being self sufficient. :s

Wall busted a regular Christina while Acno had to put up with POF Christina.
Christina is a ship so it doesn't get PoF. Only the Going Merry is capable of animating itself through the use of PoF. Christina is nowhere near capable of performing such a legendary feat as it's ship that gets busted on a daily unlike a friend(ship) like the Merry. 😎

Elfman being better than Jellal in offence had better be a joke.

The only bit of proof for it is Elfman's off-panel fight... where he had Mira as backup. Portrayal and Natsu's statement alone should put Jellal above Elfman. Keep in mind that Mira was also put in a tier above the rest like Jellal, so if either of them are damaging Madmole, its gonna be Mira. We have literally no idea what happened in that fight and Mira herself admits that had it continued they may not even have won. Mira being > Jellal currently is fair enough since she did that fight entirely in BSS and was included in Natsu's statement, but Elfman? When has he ever been near that level?

There's not much of a reason to doubt Natsu's statement either:

1) His hype for Laxus (no-diffing Kyria), Mira (matching Skullion/Madmole in BSS) and Gajeel (wearing Natsu out and causing him to use LFD) checks out so far
2) He didn't only pick people he's fought before, so there's no reason to assume he's underrating Elfman because he picked Mira out despite never facing her

The entirety of Mira/Elfman vs Skullion/Madmole is suspect as hell as it is. Mira couldn't even scratch Skullion Magically or physically, and Skullion is literally the worst opponent ever for Elfman, so him being hurt to the point that he was doesn't make much sense. As for Madmole, the guy that shrugged off an FDK Demo Fist and hurt Elfman just by clashing with him was somehow marked up by the end of their fight? The only way I'd buy that is if Madmole made no attempt to block any hits from them. There's also the fact that Skullion has an attack that can one-shot DeS Gray + Mira definitely has more powerful Souls... and yet there's no indication that either of the two used them. But then Skullion retreats and then Mira doesn't even know who would have won?

I'm not saying this feat should be discounted for Mira or Elfman, but that is one sketchy ass fight.

With this all being said... I'm not even sure what my list looks like outside of my top 3 lmao (and no, Jellal is not in that top 3).

We're going strictly by offense, right?

I don't know why Jellal won't make it with his Alverez feats alone? The guy is pure speed and offense.

I'm not telling where I put him, but with spells like: Self Destruction - a one shot spell if it lands, with which he destroyed a mountain as a kid, and was about to destroy Nirvana; Sema - which was > city level in x791 itself; and Abyss Break - hyped to be city level even in x784; I don't see why the guy would come below the likes of Elfman or Mira (who haven't gotten a single on panel fight since Tartarus). Dafaq?

Damn, I always end up defending this guy, but I don't think I've seen someone downplayed like this in this forum lol, other than Gray and Zeref.
Zeref downplay is more or less tounge and cheek and for lulz; but the downplay of Jellal and Gray is real

Base Natsu's punch and Jellal's Grand Chariot both being able to incapacitate Neinhart do not make them equal in power.

That's like saying if I can kill someone with an average glock and do the same by blowing them up with the Tsar Bomba then they would be equal in power. That's just ridiculous reasoning.

Please find non outdated feats bcs all Jellal has done is beat Neinheart with a charged GC and enhanced Neinheart was oneshotted by a basic Natsu punch.

I'm done with the Jellal hype. Pull up actual feats to say he has an attack that is greater than Demo-fist in power or there ain't nothing to talk about :errr

While I do agree that Jellal should be above Elfman, I don't think Elfman is that bad either. I feel like you're discounting him simply because Natsu did not hype him up like he did Mirajane. While you may consider the Elfman/Mirajane vs. Skullion/Madmole a suspect enough battle given the fact that it was off-paneled, that doesn't point to Mirajane doing the damage to Madmole as well.

Every single time we were given snippets of the battle, it was highlighting that Mirajane was facing Skullion and Elfman fighting Madmole, which still matches the Mirajane's hype considering Skullion is Madmole's team leader. It's Occam's Razor pointing us to Elfman doing the damage to Madmole. Besides, it would be more reasonable to believe Elfman did the damage to Madmole than Mirajane being able to fend off both Madmole and Skullion, with Elfman barely doing anything, regardless of how much Natsu hyped Mirajane.

Regardless whether you think this is an inconsistent showing for either Elfman or Madmole (maybe for even both of them) or not is a completely different matter, but as far as it went, it is more than reasonable to assume that Elfman must have done the damage dealt on Madmole (however severe you think it was).

You guys can rely on Jellal's hype or hype his previous feats, but let's not act like Elfman wasn't relevant in the Skullion and Madmole tag team power. He clearly was the one primarily fighting Madmole and did damage on him. Any sort of damage on Madmole would mean Elf's power is a lot stronger than a regular Demo-fust as Madmole no sold one to the face.

Elf's offensive power is currently more impressive than Jellal's by feats. You can ride Jellal's portrayal of power, but if people want to say Elf has more offensive power than Jellal then they could as him hurting Madmole who can no sell a Demo-fist is better than any feat Jellal has currently produced. :catshrug

Laughs in Acno feats

(I know you don't 'believe' in them.)

Bruh, I'm not meaning to be bad natured here but were you ever not done with Jellal hype?

I don't want to discount Elfman but you have to admit that him suddenly having the strength to have punches that match/exceed a Demo Fist is somewhat unbelievable, right? Meanwhile Mira was put in the same league as Laxus, and he just completely demolished a DE with a couple of nameless feats and a Secret Art. If either of the two were going to damage Madmole to that extent, it would make more sense for Mira to have done it.

Hell, Elfman got hurt just by punching Madmole:
Even the next time after that Skullion and Madmole don't have any scratches of them while Mira and Elfman are noticeably damaged:
And then the last look we get at them prior to Skullion/Madmole retreating is the one where its seemingly more even:
Elfman is still in the exact same Soul as he was when he got hurt just from punching Madmole.

Its these kinds of things that I feel should be scrutinised. To be fair Elfman isn't alone in this either, Mira couldn't even hurt Skullion at all and was getting outmanoeuvred in the only proper bit of the fight we saw. Yet then when the fight ended, Skullion and Madmole were damaged. Essentially, BBS Mira and Elfman were shown to be outclassed by both Skullion and Madmole respectively in the only real on-panel part of the fight. Then by the end Mira and Elfman somehow have Madmole and Skullion all scratched up despite being in the exact same Souls as they were in at the start.

I agree with you that the intent was to paint the fight as Madmole vs Elfman and Skullion vs Mira, but the fight itself makes zero sense when you put together what pieces of it we have. Since neither Mira or Elfman used different Souls during the fight it consequently means the end result doesn't match the rest of the fight. Like I said at the beginning, I don't want to outright discount these feats for the Strauss', but it needs to be looked at more carefully because I think there's pretty decent ground to call this off-panel fight a complete outlier for both of them.

I understand what you're saying completely, and I know what it is you're trying to scrutinise, and honestly I think it's with good reason.
It's just that I doubt we're getting anymore than what we got, and no matter how the fight ended, we have no choice but to take it as it was.

On the contrary, like I said previously, it's a different matter if you think this is not a consistent result compared to their previous showings. In which case, you'd have to disregard the whole fight completely, and if so, I would not blame you for doing so, I think you'd have a well grounded basis on that if ever.

It's that

Is that so? Ok, that's still a one shot spell once it's cast.

Sema did defeat them?
You mean it didn't kill them? Maybe it's because the guy controlled it's power so that he could put them down instead of killing them? His goal was to recruit them you know?

Abyss break in x784. It surely scales with magic power -_-
I can certainly see the spell from Jellal to be multi City level now

Pull up an actual feat to say Mira and Elfman has more attack power than Demo fist as well by that logic. Those two are completely featless (on screen) since Tartarus, only had off panel fights.
Skullion's dura is featless.
Madmole needs to keep using his magic power to enhance his defense each time, he could've just ran low on magic power eventually as Elfman kept throwing punches
