Okay, so I've noticed something that I need to discuss with you all. For a while now, I've suspected that there might be vote campaigning going on with the MH ToC poll, but I haven't been able to confirm it until today.

Normally moderators aren't able to see who voted in a poll once the hide poll results option is selected, but osso gave me the permission to, which is usually only granted to global moderators and up.

So, now having the ability, I immediately started noticing a lot of questionable activity. By that I mean, I can see that there's a significant number of recently created accounts with no posts participating in the polls.

I bring this up because, I'm not sure what to do about this. This is a spoiler, and I apologize, but it's happening with multiple series, but I'm noticing it mostly with the two series tied for 1st, CSM and OP.

Both series have recently created no posts users voting for them, but OP seems to have more of them. Maybe they're just lurkers, but the fact they were all created in the later half of 2019 and/or within the last month has me a bit concerned.

Again, I don't know what we (or I) should do about this. That's why I'm consulting you guys. Should we ignore this and just let it be, or should we start disregarding votes?

Even if we can't, we could simply manually go over if they meet the requirements for a valid vote.

I talked to osso about implementing something like that, but it would take a lot of effort, and he doesn't really have the time. If something like this were to be done, it would have to be done manually.

I don't participate at all, I think I only voted once. But I think those votes by those users should be disregarded, it's not fair when they are only doing it for x series to be first. Filtering like rica said would help a lot.

I can see who they are. I'll try to see if I can make it so everyone can see who voted, once the poll results are made visible.

If so, I'll just instruct Shinuki to exclude voters not fitting certain criteria. If not, I'll manually do it.

Alright, so, I just learned that only staff can see who voted in polls after the hide polls option has been enabled.

I'll have to manually subtract the votes myself. I've been told that I'm not allowed to reveal who the users are, since they're allowed privacy once the hidden poll results option has been enabled.

If so, I'll just instruct Shinuki to exclude voters not fitting certain criteria. If not, I'll manually do it.

Well, maybe the quicker way to filter votes is using the titles and ignoring votes from users with the '初心者/ Shoshinsha / Beginner' title. It's a shame we have to do it because people try to cheat on a simple poll like this though.

I...kinda doubt it selling out. Having followed the Amazon rankings, they were pretty unspectacular until they went out of stock, unless they were really low on the printings.

Rain? You mean, the lightening symbol?
I mean, a version of Dumbledore is there in the cover so that symbol was probably less important. But yeah, its very clear where the design inspirations came from for this manga and I don't even think the mangaka is even bothering to hide it.

Probably trying to gain HP fans that way.
