Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Kinda interesting that Undead unluck got some many votes (before the discount votes) despite the backlash it received before its release.

Controversy is one of the best marketing tools.

It's interesting that in the actual chapter, the questionable content wasn't so front and center. Also, the advertisement for the series after the chapter was pretty normal.
Actual series wasn't too bad, actually kind of fun. Sexual assault parts still need to go, but sadly I expect more series advertising themselves with controversy. Specially if this series ends up doing well.

If they want to keep a season of MHA every year they either could be technical and say S4 counts for both 2019 and 2020 or adapt some of Vigilantes. Especially if its story is going to start being referenced in MHA.
they could always adapt the LNs

In the other news, seems like Darling in the Franxx ended on Jump+.
Waiting the next project of Yabuki.
he might just go for another Trigger project like Brand New Animal manga

personally I'd love a Promare tie in manga

New Jump+ series Ohisama Birdie started today.

Yep it ended today. Final Vol 8 out in April.
Daisuke Yui's first manga All Girls Archery Sport Club manga
Daisuke Yui's second manga All Girls Golf Sport Club manga

something tells me they will keep doing cute girls doing weird sports titles until one sticks

The suspicion towards one piece votes is warranted. Though for chainsawman, surprisingly not much since it doesn't get much benefit from it.
Turns out haikyuu and act age are also heavily affected by this. For black clover, I think it's just the case of low votes.

It was One Piece that made me take notice, actually. At one point earlier in the poll, CSM was ahead by like 10 votes (IIRC), and stopped receiving new votes, whereas One Piece kept going up continuously.

I just thought it was odd that CSM could have such a commanding lead, and then One Piece received all those votes in just a few hours, with not a single one of those voters also voting for CSM.

But, as we can all see, now we know why. I'm not saying that it's weird that people would prefer One Piece to CSM, I just think there's a fair amount of cross voting that happens between the two series. Usually a fan of one will be a fan of the other, at least, with the regulars.

Speaking as someone who has clashed with the OP fandom a lot, your suspicions are well founded. The OP fandom is notoriously insecure over anything being treated as "above" it, to the point that they spammed me for days over saying it wasn't in my Top 5 series running in Jump.

I'm not one to call out fanbases. One Piece has a huge fanbase, and for good reason. Plus, what's happening in the manga currently is extremely important to the lore, so it makes sense that people think that should be reflected in the poll.

However, this poll isn't about a series being better or worse than other series. It's just who has the best chapter for that specific week. I know CSM wins a lot, but that shouldn't indicate to people that it's a better overall series.

CSM is just an extremely fun series to follow week to week, but it's not like it's hit One Piece's peak moments or anything. It still has a ways to go.

I'm going to do non-spoiler chapter review per week from now on so i can at least participate the poll. My real problem is that i don't read any WSJ beside One Piece so i will start reading the newcomer manga in this new decade. Sorry that i can't catch up any old manga like Haikyu, MHA or Kimetsu no Yaiba since i'm really busy man outside in this thread.

My review is going to be like about the Art, Character Designs, Manga panels, and Overall enjoyment. I would not review the story to prevent my bias of the manga as well or else i would say like "This Chapter is so freaking amazing 10/10". My review is completely subjective so it's alright if you disagree my post.

Let's start from last week chapter before the new upcoming manga called Mashle: Magic & Muscles will going to drop tomorrow in Official translations. This review is partial and it might change the criteria over time if i didn't feel right my review.

One Piece Chapter 968

Settings & Character designs:
Nothing new character in this chapter to analyze the designs and but the bastard Koizumu Orochi had wore crown this time after he taken over wano. Toki and her children's looks patched up their clothes after we've seen her last design from chapter 967.

Manga Panels and Highlights: As for the panels there's no jaw dropping double pages this time but my favorite panels is that the last 2 panels side by side from Oden's blood lust panels to Orochi's holy crap face.

Overall thoughts: The chapter is heavy dialogue so it is expected to slow pace before the upcoming next tragic chapter.

Undead X Unlock Chapter 1

Settings & Character designs:
The settings is in real world Japan and the background is neat for a standard Jump manga. The Leading heroine named Fuuko Izumo who possessed a power that straight out from Final destination movie. Her designs is so cute too that she went from 2 makeover in one chapter. Surprisingly the Zombie lead guy didn't had real named so that's new. His design reminds me Giovanni from Pokemon if he ate steroids lol! The police dude design is fine but his henchmen kind of meh!

Manga Panels & Highlights: My favorite panel is the revealing heroine long hair but unfortunately it won't last. The fights is painfully average in some panels and i hope it can do more.

Overall thoughts: Just like the old lines said "Don't judge the book by it's cover" and the manga proven wrong to the people who quickly judge the cover. The controversy groping boobs had a surprisingly reason too and i thought that it will be Ecchi manga by it's premise. The censor thing on the zombie dude is so funny if it done in Anime lol!

So it basically scales properly anyway right? So there's basically no vote rigging at least this week right?
I don't think anyone would actually spend their time doing that.

Suprised that Yuuna even got votes considering that the chapter hasn't been fully translated yet.

People are likely just giving it sympathy votes. Which, honestly, I don't really condone, but Yuuna doesn't even get released by M+. And even assuming it did, it likely wouldn't rank all that well anyway.

Hmmm? It doesn't scale properly?
Without the deleted votes, MHA is top 4 in the voting but with the deleted votes it falls down to 8th.
Haikyuu is 10th without the deleted votes and 6th with it.
Act Age is 9th without the deleted votes and 5th with it.
OP without the votes has a good distance between it and CSM (which is 1st) while with the votes, it seemed like a super close contest.

This is the only week that we'll see two versions of the results, right?

If we get to see a version of the results with the discounted votes every week, then I feel like there will still be vote campaigning either way, and the second set of results will be considered the "real" outcome by those people.

Is English jump releasing at midnight Japan time an ongoing thing now, not just for last week?

I hope so, before I'd need to wait until after work on Monday to read it since I'm in Korea, but if it's releasing at midnight I can read it before sleeping.

It is. The JP digital has been moved to that time as well.

Full disclosure, I didn't know that Shinuki was going to post both polls. As for your question, I haven't decided if this will be a permanent thing or not.
