Remember I said "japanese print numbers for Jump series" not worldwide or another series from other magazines/publishers ;)

I think all the information is right, but maybe some numbers are "old" (for example, Kinnikuman).

I feel the list is wrong. Where is Fist of North Star (Hokuto no Ken)? It had official numbers with the manga having over 100 million copies.

PD: Hero Academia is very near to enter in the top-25

PD2: BTW. Hero Academia anime has finally been licensed in Spain. Now we have here the 2 first seasons dubbed, and the two movies.
Hokuto no Ken is at the 12th place. While Comicdata listed it as having 47~60 million in circulation (which is also the figure shown in the tweet), I've also seen the article where it's mentioned that the 100 million circulation. I can only assume 100 million is the worldwide circulation number.

Are we sure it's right?

Why the list of best-selling manga says differently:
Those are worldwide numbers

On the wiki page dedicated to the best-selling manga there are different numbers for Bleach, One Piece, Naruto and Dragon Ball, but the volumes released abroad are probably counted as well (Naruto is like the best-selling manga in the USA, although may be worth this).

So Slam Dunk is only 6 million above Bleach when counting worldwide numbers?

I wonder if Bleach can bridge the gap if the final arc really does get animated.

So basically:

1. One Piece: 390,000,000 copies (454 counting also the copies sold worldwide).
2. Dragon Ball: 159,500,000 copies (250-300 counting the copies sold worldwide.
3. Kochikame: 156,500,000 copies (Japanese copies only, since it has never been published outside of Japan).
4. Naruto: 140,000,000 copies (250 counting copies sold worldwide).
5. Slam Dunk: 121,300,000 copies (126 counting the copies sold worldwide).
6. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure series: 100,000,000 copies (more or less the same, has never had a large foreign circulation).
7. Bleach: 90,000,000 copies (120 counting the copies sold worldwide , in this case slips by two positions).
8. Kinnikuman: 75,000,000 copies (same for Kochikame).
9. Hunter x Hunter: 73,642,000 copies (78 counting the volumes sold worldwide).
10. Captain Tsubasa series: 70,000,000 copies (82 counting the volumes sold worldwide).
10. Rurouni Kenshin: 70,000,000 copies (equal).

I wonder if Bleach can bridge the gap if the final arc really does get animated.
I don't know, usually the anime made years after the end does not raise sales much ...

Slam Dunk is actually over 170 million when including WW numbers, alot of series on that wiki arent accuarte and havent been updated, the 126 million include the original 121 million copies plus the 5 million copies sold in 2018

I don't know if someone posted it, but this is the best list with all japanese print numbers for Jump series.

1. One Piece: 390,000,000 copies (95 Volumes, ongoing).
2. Dragon Ball: 159,500,000 copies (42 Volumes, ended).
3. Kochikame: 156,500,000 copies (200 Volumes, ended).
4. Naruto: 140,000,000 copies (72 Volumes, ended).
5. Slam Dunk: 121,300,000 copies (31 Volumes, ended).
6. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure series: 100,000,000 copies (119 Volumes, ongoing).
7. Bleach: 90,000,000 copies (74 Volumes, ended).
8. Kinnikuman: 75,000,000 copies (55 Volumes, ongoing).
9. Hunter x Hunter: 73,642,000 copies (36 Volumes, ongoing).
10. Captain Tsubasa series: 70,000,000 copies (97 Volumes, ongoing).
10. Rurouni Kenshin: 70,000,000 copies (28 Volumes, ended).

Kimetsu no Yaiba is now number 20 and I think it can reach number 10 before its ending.
This needs a lot of explanations and stuff to determine, as for example, dates. Kochikame's number from 2014 already was 157.200.000 (https://web.archive.org/web/20140430025858/http://adnavi.shueisha.co.jp/mediaguide/2014/pdf/boys.pdf). Naruto's outdated, since it's 153.000.000 since 2019 (https://www.yomiuri.co.jp/culture/20190502-OYT1T50164/). Also, Bleach's is from 2014, and isn't up to date with the 120.000.000 worldwide number that was given back in 2018, so it's a bit sketchy. Haven't checked them all, but there are some inconsistencies.

Another question, since when was Hunter x Hunter 78 million stated as worldwide? That number was never given as that afaik. https://prtimes.jp/main/html/rd/p/000000434.000016514.html The only number before this one was of 72M back in December 2018. Also seems 73.642.000 is a number back from May 2019.

FYI Slam Dunk 170 million is reported by Heiji (MangaMagJapan). Not going to question Heiji credibility since Heiji usually delivered but it is good to be skeptical.

Also this will probably be include during Bleach announcement

1 cartridge for Bleach all 72 volumes

Damn, those Dr. Stone numbers.

Yeah, the 73 million figure is from the 2019's Annual Index of Publications, which only accounts sales data and not circulation numbers.

That's why I said some numbers are "old" but at least that list is a good compilation and probably we can update it together.

I'm translating all this in Excel right now. Going by place 44 out 90. For some reason they didn't update Neverland (these are the numbers of volume 11).
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

I finally ended translating that pic. Besides the Hokuto no Ken stuff, I think there are more things wrong in that list. Anyways, seems a lot of that list is based on Savi's video ().

Some missing stuff:
Whistle (1700), Black Cat (1200), Highschool Kimengumi (1000), Black Angels (800), Jungle King Tar-chan (700), Hareluya II BOY (600), ****** Kamen (600), Shape Up Ra (550), Moeru Onii-san (500), Fuma no Kojiro (450), Psyren (100), Wingman (50), Hinomaru Sumo (48), Otoko Ippiki Gaki Daisho (22), Astro Kyuudan (20), Yoroshiku Mechadoc (11).

And then there is Mazinger Z and its ??? status.

In order to look for sources and numbers of every series here, I have made this I'll try to keep updating it as soon as I can, and also people from the WSJ server will be able to help me. If anyone notices any inconsistency, just say so to modify it with the latest known data.

Boruto had that after 4 volumes?

And yeah, I was a little confused about Kenshin as well seeing both 60 and 70 around. Would make sense if the latter includes worldwide, but not sure.

That thing keeps being sketchy. There's an ANN article that mentions Mangazenkan and some post saying that it indeed had 70 million copies, but the source of Mangazenkan says it's on 60M, and the other post also redirects to Mangazenkan. I don't really know where does the 70 come from or if there are other sources with the number, so will need to look a bit further.
