Moderator Notice: Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.
These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Well, don't know what happened to 36, but the constant hiatuses didn't seem to affect the sales before. It might be the direction of the arc itself then.
One Piece has been gradually declining most of the time since the timeskip hasn't it? There was no chance of it holding up those insane sales forever. I'm actually curious about when the current sales compare to, what volumes pre-Marineford sold about the same as it's doing right now?
I can see the Wano arc being part of the reason though tbh, this arc has felt like it's had a huge amount of pointless chapters even by OP's usual standards. Also since the setting is just exaggerated Japan it's not that interesting compared to a giant elephant city of furries and an island chain made entirely from food.
Not to mention the strawhats don't even matter to the story at all, this arc more than any other is clearly Oda just writing a whole new series with a new cast under the guise of making the next One Piece island.

Last 6 volumes before Marineford (50-53 are Sabaody, 53-54 are Amazon Lily and 54-55 are Impel Down. Marineford starts on 55) and the last 6 volumes which all include Wano. Coincidentally, pre-Marineford is when Oricon started tracking sales. Sales for Wano have been better for those volumes, however, OP 95 is almost on pre-Marineford level.
SXF and CSM topping the most recommended manga and AA getting a rec from Akimoto makes me expect even bigger things from those series in the future. AA will most definitely surpass those two those two. Now to see if Akimoto's rec has an immediate effect on AA's sales and if SXF and CSM will also get a boost in the upcoming months.
This makes Horikoshi just the third mangaka to reach that number. The first one was Hiro Mashima (Fairy Tail), second one was Sui Ishida (Tokyo Ghoul), and it also makes him the very FIRST WSJ mangaka to do so.

The drop in the past few volumes is VERY visible. Strange fluctuation between 92 and 93 where 93 is a 100k above 92 despite having 50 days less sales.
95 seems to be sorta on par with 92 so maybe in 150 days, it'll sell 2 million.

Maybe got to the bottom of it. Pretty sure it's Hyoryu Kyoshitsu (Drifting Classroom).
And that would make sense because Takeuchi said she watched it all in an afternoon, which confused me if they were talking about manga, but the series got a film adaptation in 1987.
...Are you confusing One Piece with HxH?
One Piece will take weekly breaks every 3 weeks which Shueshia had to force him into. Not extended hiatuses I don't think ever.

Didn't Kubo have a lot of followers as well before he deleted his account due to people bullying him? His new account has about 100k.
Geez, People often call girls/women fans of battle shonen fujos, like women couldn't appreciate fights, character development, plot without shipper googles. I mean some are mainly for shipping but thats minority.
There's been an update to our forum rules to broaden crediting/sourcing to all series news/announcement, etc. Please read HERE
