Just rewatched the 2011 anime.

Should I start reading the dark continent arc or should I wait however long I need for it to be over?

Just continue it - starting from chapter 340 + reading the 2 chapters about Kurapika
Also, from this arc, you will be really patient due to hiatus and the complex of this arc, if you had any something to ask, go ask on the thread or Reddit, we will help you
Also, the anime sequel might gonna work after Togashi just finish this recent arc cause the anime adaption should be from 2-3 arc or over 3 arcs but this like around 6-7 years

I mean, we already done with introducing the Prince and mafia and stuffs, and the next chapter of part 2 is totally a combat from Mafia wars, then next is the main event one, which might took around more 60 chapters

I decided to read it anyway, and man.... it was so good!!
I always found Kurapika so much more interesting than Gon and Killua.

And now, unfortunately... my long wait is starting for the return of the manga...

If u want my personal forecast: 30 chaps left for this phase of the succession war, but the next arc will also be on the black whale.

I imagine it like this: This arc will be concluded by Kurapika either reaching his goal to get the eyes from tserriednich or failing and being in dire trouble (maybe having to give up the eyes to save woble).
I dont think the succession war will be concluded in this arc tho. I think in the course of 30 chap, we are going to reach the refuel platform.

The arc will conclude and the next arc will focus on the zodiac and the mafia/hisoka/spider plot, with the zodiac having to contain a riot on the lower decks while the succession war still happens but takes a backseat, as in, it will be played out in a very different way than it is now.

It wont be a coincidence tserriednich, zhang lei and Luzurus are connected to mafia. I think with woble (and maybe fuugetsu) gone, only those will stay in the race by next arc's beginning who really want to be king and their mafia crews will play a role in the zodiac plot.

So the refuel platform and kurapika taking a backseat as MC in favor of zodiac/Leorio will mark the division between this arc and the next.

There are several subplots in this arc. The difference to the election arc is that these plots played actually at the same pace.
When the election process started, killua took alluka with him.
When the election process got heated up, so got killua's struggle.
When Gon was revived, the election ended.

It isn't like that in this arc. The Mafia Plot just started when the Kurapika plot is already pretty far.
I think this arc ends when they arrive at the refuel platform and then a lot of things will be shuffeld new.

I think Kurapika dies or gets invalidated on the boat and the mc perspective switches to Leorio who goes hunting for a cure for Kurapika

I don't think Hisoka makes it off the boat either. And some spider ought to make contact with some prince at some point...

Hypothetically. Though I'm not sure if it's possible to fulfill the first condition (unless just seeing things unfolding when Tserr. is using the ability counts).

As far as we know, Tserriednich's hatsu is not linked to his beast. So yes, Chrollo could steal it, theoretically. However, it might be that tserriednich does not know himself how his ability works. He has no clue about the second beast and that one might be linked to his hatsu, so if he cannot tell chrollo, chrollo cannot steal it. However, that might not be true if chrollo witnesses exactly how it works with his own eyes and tserriednich answers any questions chrollo still has truthfully.

All i can say is that it would be karma to see feitan torture the answers out of tserriednich.

I'll be happy if Kurapika's arc gets a satisfying end with the SW. But yeah, I don't think there's enough time for the DC at the current rate.
