Or Gotouge just doesn't need it. I think you guys are trying way too hard analyzing and looking for patterns in the breaks.

Gotouge has a Mashima level work ethic, I highly doubt they need a break.

Also, I'm starting to wonder...perhaps the plan is for Kimetsu to finish with Vol 23, then Gotouge takes a break before returning with a Jojo style Part 2 in August? The popularity poll makes me suspicious...

See, I’m wondering when Kimetsu no Yaiba will join the break rotation. It’s done more than enough to earn a spot at this point. Or is it because Jump wants to continue profiting off of the mega-success it’s become in Japan by making sure there’s new chapters every week?

I don't think she/he wants it since the editor described Gotouge as a workaholic basically. Plus taking a break in the middle of the final battle would be really weird.

I think he/she prefers “they” simply because he/she just wants to remain as anonymous as possible, and it’s even possible that Gotouge is just their pen name.
Could be wrong, but that’s my personal theory

My favorite is when Gotouge said that lemons are evil, since they can get into your eyes even when weraing glasses :-) and how they were that idoit that fell off a slide on New Year dday

The Yozakura rise and decent sales (compared to other newbies) is a surprise but a very welcome one. The series has been a bit of a mess so far structurally but it's always at least been a fun read each week, and it'd be nice to have possibly 2 (or 3 if Mitama can grow) series stick around from the first year of Reiwa.

SxF had a new volume out in January, MHA did not (its latest volume was on December 4th).

Damn. I guess this is really it. Uruka really won. The athletic, genki, childhood friend won a harem bowl. Again. Within 2 months. I bet Tsutsui and Negi planned this shit while drinking one day, you fucking can’t convince me otherwise. XD Color me surprised, though. None of my two surefire options won, and I’ll give WNL credit for that. To heal the pain from my Fumino ship sinking, I’ll enjoy the pain caused from Sensei’s ship sinking.

Waking up to a great Act-age CP and the news that Yozakura and Mitama are getting some felt great. Only thing that could make this morning better would've been a bit higher position for Agravity.

When I have free time, I'll check all the programmed breaks in Jump last year. I recall that in last 30 issues, only 3 issues have had full roster.

It seems to me that we've advanced from Situation 1:
-Full roster every 3 weeks
-4th week One Piece rests

To Situation 2 at beginning of 2019:
-Full roster week 1
-MHA break week 2
-Full roster week 3
-One Piece break week 4

To current situation since September I think:
-Promised Neverland break week 1
-MHA break week 2
-Black Clover or Haikyuu break week 3
-One Piece break week 4

It will be interesting to see what Shueisha plans for programmed breaks when Neverland ends. Dr.Stone joining the break roster? Black Clover and Haikyuu not sharing anymore the break 3 with one of them going to week 1?

Haikyu!! breaks aren't programmed, the series has only been on break 3 times in 8 years, 2 of those breaks happened because Furudate was traveling outside Japan and the 3rd break happened because Furudate suddenly fell ill (last week)

Mitama and Yozakura rising and getting CPs is a welcome surprise. CSM's popularity poll is a curious case, like I'm happy this one is happening but CSM has such an extensive cast and only a few of them actually get the spotlight so I expect a lot of the votes to go to Denji, Makima, Power, Hayakawa, Beam and Reze. Hopefully, Hoshi and Takemitsu get in the AA top 10, I have my fingers crossed for my boys.
